I it is starting to look real good for the attendance for the race at Fuji Monday. Will the race be at the VCRC lounge?

If you have one lying around give the HSC a spin at Eiger...she's a beauty!!

There is a fair shot of me getting on for some online practice for the VCRC Fuji. Probably around 9est or so. If I am on, I will go in the MCRC lounge (not sure if anything is scheduled for the other. I will post if I get on for anyone that wants to practice and/or race.

Hmm, this was interesting. I went online with the 88 Lambo for some Fuji practice. Right off the bat I was a low 56, followed by a high 55. I bailed out and went to offline practice to see where I was. Not as fast, but was faster than should have been. So I dropped the PP from 493 to 487. Had a 56.610. I will plan on running at 487 Monday night...for now. First time I have found a car to be faster online than off. Brings up the question of what to do if you find that on a Monday night when it may be first time online. Curious if there would be a second consideration for doing our TT online. I know we can't save the ghost replay (or I dont think we can), but with the group we have had so far, I don't think there is an honesty problem. Might make for the racing to be even better.

Im up for anything. If there is an obvious advantage when we are racing, we could impose some sort of handicap? As long as everyone is in it for fun, I don't think there would be any problem with honesty, as you said.

Usualy there is little difference but something might have change since the last update.
The easiest solution if the issue persist will be to do lap times online.
I would prefer to keep doing lap time offline as I find that being able to keep the ghost replay very practical on two points
1. In selecting the car
2. In improving the PP in trying to follow the ghost.

Of course nothing is preventing doing a pre selection off line and adjusting final PP slap time submition online.

Keeping every one honest is easy by watching replay of the race.

That could be because the 88' is understeery by nature but all cars move towards oversteer online to some degree and that may have helped shave some of the time off. I do my testing offline, but always take the car online for a few laps just to get a feel for it before the race.

If there is some sort of obvious advantage online then you can make a PP adjustment between races.

Thats what I was thinking. Just put in a little ballast or limit the engine a bit.

Ballast cannot be touch because we are racing with tuning prohibited, only adjustment is limit the engine.
Only other adjustement is brake balance.

Ahh good point. I imagine just a few PP lower ought to do the trick.

I don't always get a chance to get online prior to the race night. I know this group is really good about making things even on the track and would just hate to see someone who had an appropriate PP for offline, then run so much faster online in the first race and be questioned. I have no problem adjusting the PP Monday night as we go if that will even things out. Just would not have looked very good to show up and be half to full second faster than posted.

You have to remember also that your testing didn't take into account the fact other people are on track next to you, meaning you will not be able to take the perfect line. I think the reason we haven't seen a lot of issues from the whole online/offline thing is because when we're racing together we are in such close proximity to each other.

Yes it is a very valid point and remark, as the goal is to have everyone on a very similar pace to create close racing. If you sudenly have a second advantage on everyone else, you would have a boring race ahead of the pack with little challenge since the car is to fast. 👎

It would be like those guy's who complain about how boring it is to race the AI when then are using a car on Racing Soft when the AI is equiped with Sport Hard. If they would race the AI with Comfort Soft and a less performing car, they would notice the AI are very consistant drivers.

Although sometimes *too* consistent... But you are definitely right. Sometimes I wish the game would place more limitations on what sorts of cars you could drive, what tires, etc. At least now it tells you AI tires before the race starts. I remember having to start the race, end it, watch the replay, and then see what tires they had, then restart the race with something appropriate on my own car. Much easier now though :)

Yes 100% , a little bit too consistent. LOL, but you have to spend some time behind them trying to pass cleanly with a proper car and tyre combo to notice.
I would love better AI, like everyone else, but I have to admit that I am already having a good time with the right car/tyre combo in arcade with AI at the highest level.

I've been sick since Friday, still feel like crap, so I have been unable to do any testing for Fuji, I'm going to drop out and concentrate on eiger.

When you say: At least now it tells you AI tires before the race starts.
I do not understand where you see that, because I do not see that.

I'll try to make the early VCRC race today.

I'm going to have to miss the early one, as I have to go to the doctor's with my girlfriend. Sorry for leaving it so late to post, but she only just told me about it.

I should be there as well for the late race.👍

Hope everything is ok with the gf Mike:scared:

Looking forward to racing tonight...as long as I can sign into PSN. Not sure if there was a maintenance or something last night, couldn't get logged in.

I am pretty sure I sent a request to the VCRC PSN, but is there anything else I need to do in order be be prepared for tonight?
