Hello everyone.
I'm the new guy and have never done this type of racing before last week(though I did some GPL). I just wanted to say hello.

Boom: I have to fly out tomorrow A.M., so I have submitted my time. There's probably another sec. in there, but I just don't have the time to find it.

Mr. P: Do you use top gear?

Hey IDAFC21.

From that pic it's really hard to tell. Usually what I do in a situation like that is just try to get a better and cleaner lap. From what I can see, it looks just a bit of the track, but to hard to tell with any degree of precision. If I were you, I'd just try again for a cleaner lap.

@Oliver. Good to see ya here. Take good care on your trip and we'll all be here next week. ;)

Well I got to tell miata, but I managed to put down 21.1's and a 46.2.

The 46.2 was on a no good lap, but I will have another soon enough and it will be a lap that is even faster.

Hopfully it will be tomorrow... so I will talk to you guys later.

Oh yea, my two cents says that picture above is of a car that is off the track...

Sorry, just go for another one that is cleaner.

Good luck to all.

Hmm...i need your guys (and girl) concensus on this. would this be considered off track?? Sorry for the utterly horrible quality, but thats the best my sorry excuse of a "digi cam" can produce. I know its pretty hard to tell, but my right tires are just BARELY on the line from where the pavent ends and the dirt starts. it was even hard to catch in the analyzer. It only happens for a split second too, you miss it if you try and catch it in the regular replay. Is that a scrubbed lap? The only reason i ask is because on that particular lap, i pulled out a 20.9 t1 and a 46.0 T2 as well as a lap time that was about 7 tenths better than my previous lap...and i'd realy hate to see to that wasted....haha.

Anyways, heres the pic, you be the judge. im goin back to try and pull an even better lap so i dont have to worry about if the lap was good or not. hehe.

nah thats on the track, on a license test or a time trial or something i was even more of the track than that and they didnt get me for cheating so it should be counted.

If you have a VCR, record the replay in chase view. This will allow you to view each frame of the questionable section. I reviewed some replays that I had thought had wall touches, but when I examined them frame by frame, they were clean. You can also record the rearview(of chase cam), if the front of the car is in question.

my VCR sucks for that, the damn screen shakes and the picture is so bad.

Another great method after you check the visuals out is to check out the analyzer and go slowly throughout the speed and the most zoomed out view of your speed. that would give you a definate after the visuals look good

thanks boom, believe me ive been trying...i just couldnt get anything close to that afterwords tonight. i'll have to try again tomorrow after a nice rest. a 46.0 is gonna be hard to beat for me! haha. i think off track should be considered where the grass starts, because if there were a rumble strip there, it'd be the size of that brown area before the grass starts (check it out on other sections of the track) but what boom says, goes. hehe. i just hope i can repeat my performance so i dont have to worry about it :irked:

Well I went to the BMW dealer to complain about the handling on my red Beemer, they suggested I try the Silver one with Booms set up :odd:

Turned out to be good advice :D

Hardly any miles on the clock and I've hit a 20.8 and a 46.2 already!

My main problem before was keeping the car stable going into T2 and the bend right after it . Now the car feels stable & fast with my gears, and now I'm gonna do some serious damage to my best lap time, maybe even catch Ron :mischievous:

What were your settings?

I posted what I was using before, now I'm using Boom's set up with these gears ...

4.996/3.605/2.722/2.143/1.730/1.435
Final 2.000 Auto 18

Dang. I had a bad (=just out of the track in first corner) T1 of 20.9 but I just had to follow it up with a 45.5 anyway. Now I won't be able to stup running until I see that 45.5 with a good T1.

When I tried this some more I got an invalid 46.6 and then a valid 46.8. That run was fairly decent though, but I'm guessing my current time will be roughly 0.5-1 second from the winner. :irked: Ah well, been playing the WRC Challenge a little, did anyone see that? Lot of WRC for free (roughly an hour's worth of driving!) with the new magazine disc. With the wheel that game isn't half bad and it's a nice challenge. Still, I wish it were a bit more realistic. But the scenery looks very nice ...

I'm still using my magic setup that I got a few days ago.
New best lap is:

20.913 / 46.156

I think I can still get ANOTHER .300 off of my total if my stars align. There were a few minor slides that scrubbed a smidge or two of time on that run.

I have run a 20.801 T1 but you can all guess what happened after that.

I still have many hours of free time for this week so I hope I can realize a little more time shaved off.:mischievous:

Even if I can't, my replay is super clean and beautiful to watch. I'll be happy to post this one.

Yeah, got that disk in the mail yesterday, have played it a couple of times.

Looks good, but the co-drivers notes are horrible. Way too late.

Are you going to share the magical set up? I'll give it a shot :D

I've had a 20.6 T1 but...... :banghead:

I wish I knew what I was doing wrong in T1. My best lap is 21.1T1 and 46.1 T2, nice and clean everywhere. I seem to be competitive from T2 onwards but cannot for he life of me see how to get under 21.1 seconds for T1.

I think a magical setup is a good thing Carbon. . . I am still futzing around with the setup I got, it is carrying me all the way, my only problem is the fact that my rear won't stay in gear over here. I tried a few different sets for chamber, toe, springs and rear bound nad rebound, but I can't find that groove that I like. Well, still got today tomorrow, Sunday and late Monday.

I don't know if I wanna share this one or not. I spent a solid 8 hours over 2 days working on it. And it may not suit your style.

I may give it to you Lotus since your not in my class. But you have to promise not to share it w/anyone. I feel like being a hoarding little b**tard today.

If you promise not to share, I'll PM it to you.;)

No share, no care
It might have helped some of the beginers or amateurs who are struggling . We all work hard on a set up at some stage or other, that's no reason to be a meanie, if the set up is great then share, so we can test 'em out for ourselves! :P

Ron say's pretty much the same thing .... " Pfffffffffffffft keep 'em "

I'm not trying to be mean, I just want to have some faint hope of being in contention for once in my pathetic racing career. I guess I could post em tommorrow, I have to go to bed now anyway and don't feel like powering up the PS2 right now.

Sorry if I offended you, please don't put the smack down on me.:scared: :ouch: :guilty:

Even though im not running this ..Thats not nice keeping your setup to yourself  if you do that then everyone else will keep their setups to themselve's in future races..and those in their small bands will share setups via PM's..Just a prediction:)

Everyone here has had to ..whatever just what Kelly says :P

I thought the point of these race's was to help others do their best with a little help from other racer's..

Don't mind me im rambling now ..I will go away now bye :) :P

No offence taken! I understand what your saying , but there's also a sense of gratification when somebody goes and beats you with your own set up coz it means they might not have done it without your help, and so you're good for something ;)

Hey Carbon, It is all good about keeping the settings, don't let the other bother you on that. If you truly want to share them, I feel the best thing to do is give them to those on the Two divisions your not in through a PM or something. That way the people that you are competing against don't have the edge you have, but that also means you gotta post them at the end of the race for the division your in to see. Just a thought, I am not sure I I fully agree with what I said, but I feel it is logical.

Had a few laps with a modified Boom set up :) best sectors so far ... 20.7 / 45.6

new best save has 20.8 / 45.9 :odd:

still loads left here .... and btw i took kelly's new time and put it where it belongs :D

..... in my mirror :mischievous: even though your run was unclean

sorry couldn't resist ;)
show me what you've got Fast B!tch 👍

So when are we all going to meet up and race in Real Life???? I loved to take a few of you on, and I would be surprised ifany of you have raced professionally, I would like to see how I compare to you guys.

Well, I'm hosting iLink sessions here, and I might do an international version sometime this summer (when my gf is hiking or something :D - unlike Lotus, she don't like these things :banghead: ) ... if I do, though, it's going to be a pro-league event, cause otherwise it will be too boring for the Dutch racers and they could've just as well just raced each other.

That sounds like fun Arwin, but you totally dissed me there for being an Amatuer. But that is ok, I wanna work my way up in rank. What I was talking about was a real life car on a real life track. With realistic damage. 707. an International I-link session would be dope.
