How do you guys take the first turn? I'm just wondering because i cant seem to get under 21.1 for T1 and my first turn is sloppy and only luck keeps me on track :S

I let off the accel and get down to about 131mph, but I know I'm notthe fastest. I think there is a way to take that turn at at least 135mph. Use a Out-IN-OUT method.

Still feel like I'm losing most of my time on the section after T2.
The BMW is a touchy one in that last bend before the straight. Too much throttle and the ass end is out from underneath ya. Lot's of thottle control for that one.
How are you guy's taking that last turn?

T1: 20.9
T2: 45.9

Still. :irked:

I am turning just after that rubber marks and turn into it at like 63 or 64mph, a little torque steer halfway through it and you should exit in 4th gear pending on the way your geared. I think it is around 84 mph when your straighting out.

Sorry for me being a nuiscance, but after the T1 section, there are two right handers. Do you guys brake early and then floor the pedal?

New save has 20.9 / 45.7

I take the 1st bend with 1 stab on the brake and dropping from 5th gear 250km/h to 4th gear 206km/h minimum , before climbing again then gearing up again to 5th at 220km/h at bend 2 then dropping again to 3rd and tapping the accelerator for tunnel 1 until i know i'm clear then whack it up to 4th

The double right in between T1 and T2 i drop to 3rd with throttle control and average speed through this section is 155-160kmh until i'm into the 2nd right where i gear up to 4th at 160km/h and head towards the 1st of the 2 tunnels in this section i slam the brake and drop to 3rd an instant before getting on line with tunnel 1 and keeping brake pressed drop to 2nd in the tunnel dropping to about 110km/h , throttle control again inbetween the tunnels dropping to about 105km/h and when i know the wheels are online and not skidding it's up to 3rd gear to go into tunnel 2 about 2/3rds into tunnel 2 with my car close to the right side wall i drop to 2nd to get the angle to flick round the tricky left turn and up to 3rd as soon as the car has taken the line .

Last bend i gear up to 5th early at about 214km/h just for an instant before the braking point ... and drop to 2nd to get speed around the bend minimum speed is about 90km/h and gear up to 3rd at about 105km/h when i find the straight line required , i try to avoid the rumble on the last bend .

laters ;)

DANG, NOW I KNOW WHY YOU'RE SO GOOOOOOD

Thanks a lot ;)

I don't know what has possessed me to try again, but I am. I really can't get under 47, I don't know why. I never know why. I've had a few t1s under 21.4, one or 2 in 21.1xx. i dunno if i'll finish this, but i do not that that car is a worthless skizo junk pile that should be recycled into a toaster. it either undeersteers into the first tunnel, has poor traction, locks up, or loses an obnoxious amount of speed drifting.. i don't know if my speeds are off, but my line is off. can't avoid that very easily when the car loses traction than takes a month to accelerate.

i'm using boom's setting and lotus' gears.

compared to this car, the gt40 was a ferrari f1 car.

i'm going to need a lot of help if i'm to have a chance of making a decent showing

i figured out a while ago that mr p is blessed with understanding the racing line and the patience to try different approaches. his speeds can be matched, i believe i've gone through turns faster. not that he could not go faster, but he knows when he can go 10 mph slower and still get a better time. his lines are excellent.

i need better detail of your lap, mr. p. i'm not sure about some of the turns. how do you take the left hand turn between the tunnels?

Thanks Mr. P, nice walkthrough of the map. I am improving the time on the first corner thanks to you :) but im still in high 47's for t2. I think im doing something wrong when im about to enter the tunnell. Hopefully i can get a 46 by monday :mischievous:

IT amazes me, if you change one aspect of your line after T1, it messes up the rest of the race. I know that race line is the underlining factor in such a track as Deep forest. I think I have the groove on the right one, I just can't put it together. I don't get it. Where is that Aero kit that I need to install on this car?????

:embarrassed: :embarrassed: Aww shucks T :P you know how to enflate an ego ;) as if it wasn't big enough already :D

I don't manage to get to 250 kp/h unfortunately, but I agree about the minimum. However, the two right handers can be done faster, between 160-170 only dropping below 160 a tiny bit going up the hill in the second right hander. The best I can do after the tunnel is about 112-115 minimum.

Like Boom, I think I can get a little more out of the last turn. Don't know if I get round to doing that though, probably not.

I suppose it depends on the set up for sector speeds ....

here's the set up i originally took from Boom and tweeked it a bit ;) this reaches 250km/h on the start before the uphill , my car is saved at 302 km run in , i'll use this set up from now on

The second turn is killing me!!!!

Do you guys follow the oil marks on the ground or enter late and then accelerate?

I manage to pull of a 22.5/48.6, but it seems like the second and third corner are slowing me down.

Bend 2 needs to be taken by dropping gear early with smooth braking and going in on a wide angle , as your flying up the hill towards it you must run onto the rumbles on the left hand side to get the angle required to find a natural line that will get you through the tunnel dropping to 3rd following the tyre/oil marks on the road and gearing up as soon as you know your clear .

hmmm, you only drop one gear huh? I normally have to drop to fourth to clear that turn into the tunnel, I think we probably have way different gearing here.

At the risk of making you even faster than you already are, the trick I'm using there is first a bit of phased braking - a brake a bit before turn 1, turn in, tap the breaks a bit more and then speed before I hit the curbs at a minimum of 160. Then I tap the brakes to make my rear break out exactly against the white curbs. Then I fix the throttle at just under 160 going through the second turn until I'm lined up straight enough to go over the hill flooring it. This is what got me that 20.9 - 45.5 ... so now you can do a 20.6 - 45.2 eh? :D It's not as hard as it seems, though it might be easier to pull off with a wheel.

Just wish I were as good for the first turn. I know what I should do is brake before the turn on the right curbs, then slide a tiny bit with the right frontwheel touching the curbs on the inside (it sounds so easy), and that will pull me through, best I got was a minimum of 216. Unfortunately I have a lot more trouble with that part than with the rest.

I've done my own gearing, so if I use yours/brooms (nice way of presenting the settings btw. :D) then I might just be able to hit that 250 max. :D When is the deadline again? Think I might try this again tomorrow.

:D Was my idea about the settings, thought it needed testing out
Deadline is tuesday morning 6am for you.
