 im having trouble understanding that.

i have a feeling my times are gonna suffer this week...ive been workin like a dog all week and i have no energy left at the end of the day to try and make a worthwhile run. And the fact that theres 2 cars to test now makes it even worse, i think i might just have to stick w/ the EVO and forget about the WRX...if i had more time this week i'd be testin both out. i hope im not working this weekend so i can actually get some time in to do this, but i have a feeling i will be since its gonna be memorial day weekend...grrr

is anyone here thats using the evo not using ayc i might b the only one lol. for me i prefer sacrificing the ayc in favour of a full lsd set up

any thoughts on this??

p.s. if u decide to ditch ayc in favour of a full lsd to try it u will have to buy and tune another evo cus if u buy a ayc u cant turn it completely off

Unclean
T1: 20.xxx

hmmm. well i had an hour to kill before going to bed, so i figured id get a little more racing time in, so i hopped in the EVO and gave Luxy's settings a try, and after 5 laps i managaged to pull a 21.0/39.3/59.1, which was a HUGE improvement from the settings i tried to come up w/. haha. so i was pleased w/ that, and decided to hop in the WRX and give luxy's settings a try for that one too, and after about 6 laps, to my surprise, i managed to pull a 20.8/38.9/58.8!!! And thats w/ only 22 miles on the suby so far, haha. The EVO only has about 48 miles yet. So im thinkin theres still some time to come off as they break in more. I dont know which car to use now, the favor seems to be in that of the WRX now, tho i find its a little harder to keep that one on the track. power it too much into a turn and you're goin off, youve gotta hit your apexes perfectly. the evo's a little more forgiving. But thanks for those settings luxy, they've given me hope again! hehe

*edit* by the way, that run w/ the WRX was w/ no lsd installed at all, and a toe of 0/0 instead of 1/1 like he had it :D

If you go to: setting>change parts>AYC Controller>N/A. This will disable the AYC. You can then enable Limited-slip>Full Customize, if equipped.:)

Two cars and both are whack, out of the box. I may have to El Paso.

No worries dude ;)

The setup side of things is still kicking my arse ..Not happy with them at the mo plus im a wee bit busy this week only get to have a few laps late at night :irked:
As soon as im happy with them i will post them up ;)

Later :)

Had a few laps in the Suby last night before bed ...

Seems to have the edge over the Evo :irked: only done about 5 laps and managed a 20.8 / 38.8 / 58.3

Yeah, but he had an Evo 8 up there, and I gave him a link to an Evo 7, and he changed it after I posted that.

Luxy (and everybody else that's interested):

My settings on the evo7 for T3 58.16:

12/12
92/92
8/8
8/8
3.5/1.5

3/3

20/18

Good luck!

This is the first time I ever cared for fine-tuning a car in GT3 and my impression is that laguna seca is a difficult track to test the settings on. I'm very busy keeping the right line so I think it's hard to get a feeling for what the setup changes is doing for the car.. What do you guys think that have done this on the most of other courses, is laguna hard to sort out the right setting on?

Nice time there lotus, and that after so few laps!

/D

Laguna's actually my test track (probably why I'm doing so well this week, I know it so well I hardly have to think about line anymore).

I find it's got everything I need to see how a car works: heavy braking into Andretti, turns 4 and 5 and rainey to see how it corners at speed, and the last turn to see how it does with power-on oversteer.

Anyone have any advice for turn 5?

That corner has always given me problems, the rest of the lap is easy as pie:cool:

I usually try to brake early and go into the corner and "ride" the rumble strip around the turn and power out of it, but I always seem to be very inconsistant here. I am still baffled after years of GT2 and GT3:confused:

And I didn't get to play at work, so no splits from me yet. Can you believe the nerve of it all, I mean I actually had to do some work:eek: What do they think I am there for anyway? I thought it was to collect a paycheck and put some miles in.

Sorry Guys and Gal but im out ..Just got a **** load of work handed to me that i need to get done for Saturday :( No fair :( :( :(

Works a ***** sometimes eh Cf Man you should put on your profile (part time PRO race driver) :P as your the only one getting paid to drive :mischievous:

Good luck hopefully i will see yoose next round...... (If boom has cooled off and dosn't want to kill me) :P

Well i can say that my settings improved greatly when i

ASM 0
TCS 0
Brake balance 21 -5
i lost about 2 secods off my total time ;)

Turn 5 is a pain in my *ss too.

I take it by breaking early, and riding the rumbles a bit, too. Try not to let them turn the car too much, it's easy to slide around as you exit. On the exit, you should end up touching the outside rumble strip at about its mid-point. If you're hitting it sooner than that, you're apexing too early.

I usually turn in just slightly before I start braking (so that I'm braking diagonally across the track, rather that parallel to the right edge), it seems to help stop the car from running wide.

One other thing that has worked for me (sometimes, anyway) is to put the right side wheels in the dirt as you're braking, to help the car come around. It's pretty sketchy (I've kind of given up on it, because it's sooooo inconsistent)

Ran a bunch more laps in the WRX, no improvement :irked:

I agree with you all, turn 5 is quite tricky.. I choose to brake early to get a good aim and an early apex so I can have full throttle from the beginning of the kerb. With that technique my lowest speed entering the corner before full throttle is about 140 kph (87 mph) With the evo. (When I get it right of course:) )

Feels like I'm almost done with this weeks race, have to study for the rest of the week. I've just spent 6 hours tuning and finding the right line and the T3 on my fastest clean lap is now 57.xxx (evo)

This is my first OLR event and so far I really like it. Havent played much GT3 in the last months bcos I was quite bored of the game after nearly 3*100%. But this OLR thing gives new fuel to my fascination of GT.. I'm Thinking of buying an X-port if I'll continue with this but in sweden it is 60$, quite much for a poor student. Is the X-port usable for anything else than transferring data from the PS2 to PC?

/D

Bought the EVO and starting running some laps with luxys settings.
My best Clean Lap:
T3: 59.1**

Dirty Lap:
T3: 58.8 (was clean up until turn after T3 :()

Looks like the WRX is doing pretty good so ill do some laps of that soon just to see how its comparing.

this is my first Race for GTP, and i must say i'm looking forward to se how i placed, as long as its not last, i'm completely happy. ;)

ok had a good few laps in each car and here's my best sectors so far ...

Evo - 20.5 / 38.6 / 58.1

Suby- 20.5 / 38.4 / 57.7

... more to my liking i'll finish the week in the Scooby ;)

laters.

ok, here my first splits for the Impreza WRX STi

T1 = 21.375
T2 = 40.231
T3 = 1'00.169

hmm.. can't seem to get the Impreza getting any better. :(

Post my EVO splits soon also.
