T , I take the 1st corner quite tight on the inside line in 2nd gear full throttle if I can and steering correction usually needed , not sure of my speed through it though . When it next goes on I'll check it out for you .

My best total time so far is T2 ist lap 43.003  T2 2nd 36.428 i have knocked a considerable amount of time off my previuos attempts

I've had T2's of 42.032 & 35.901 not in the same race obviously
I can certainly produce the split times but just can't get good T2's on the actual race  and times running out for me :(

who is using tcs? i think this was asked earlier but not fully answered.

TCS = on

2nd gear through turn one... for turn one stratagy,. see here 👍

1st corner stratagy

Make sure to pick an AI line up where the TS020/Viper are directly in front of you, with the Vertigo in front of him. 👍

The best setup is with vertigo-TS020-You,... if you accidentally exit, the next setup will have the vertigo-viper-you,. this one works too.

I see that we are both using the same setup, but I am not using the TCS, have you tried it without it or not. I would love to compare T1 through T3 after this is over. If you have tried it without the TCS would you be able to send me your lap times after monday when everything is submitted. I'll try this with TCS tonight at some point. :)

I have tried it w/out the TCS but i can never get the launch just right, and even when i do its still not as fast as w/ TCS, so i just kept it on. I really think this car does better w/ it, or at least I can do better w/ it. hehe. I've only got one more good day to perfect my times, but i dont think i'll be getting any better than i have right now. im startin a new job soon so thats probably gonna take a big chunk outta my GT3 time for rest of this series :(

Thinking about this without TCS

Launches with a car like that are usually between 4 and 5 and 1/2 k rpm if you start from 1st. Sometimes a start from 2nd is good, but I'm not sure that's always the case. If you start from 2nd, higher rpms are probably better. Try experimenting with lifting at different points with the first and 2nd gear starts. It might help the tires gain better grip. Like in 2nd you might back of a little as the rpm drops back, at 5500 maybe, and then put the power back on; a half second lift. Probably don't need it with TCS, I guess.

when i tried the tcs off i started it up in second but usually if i tried anything higher than 4 or 5K my tires usually spun, and if i waited too long to get on the throttle the rpms dropped too low and gave me a slow start. i just could never find the sweet spot

I tried starting in 3rd, letting the tires smoke just a little bit then dropping it back into second and then the tires didnt smoke and after the second turn I ws in second.

I tried taking off in 4th then dropping down to 3rd but I was slower going into turn 1 and came out 3rd, as a opposed to 2nd.

For the corkscrew, I changed all the way down to 2nd at the top of it and then dropped in into 3rd and coasted down to about halfway before putting the power down.

This is all with TCS and ASM off, and my time werent all that fast, I mucked up at other areas of the track.

Try accelerating fully in 2nd gear, letting the tach bounce of the limiter, then as it is going back, lift for a moment. Or try holding, oh, 5000 (this is easier with the sticks) and launching from there with some caution.

I dont know how this happened but on some launches in second, the wheels would spin in 2nd between 40kmh and 90. It just boosted the car for a much faster launch:confused:

I think I finally got the launch down. I start in 1st and have the RPM gauge up to 4.5k rpm. Important either with pedals or the analog controls, you tap the gas and let off a little. It should make the RPM gauge increase fast and slowly drop to 6 grand. From there try to keep the accel right at redline and shift at 45-51mph. This should give you the same start that the AI has. Try it and give some feedback. :)

What's your T2s Cobraboy?

Myn, i think i could improve the second lap T2 by half a second but i don't have enough time to do so this week.
L1 T2 = 42.8xx
L2 T2 = 37.2xx

I can improve, just need a bit more practise.

I havent really done any more racing. I just can't seem to improve. I'm going to have a very poor finish this time.

The 38 on the second lap would be the one to improve.. ;)

i'll have to try that tomorrow...unless i can really get somthin solid down i'll probably stick w/ the TCS since its what ive been usin the whole time

i'm sorry to be in other guys business here but it seems like you guys are spending too much time dicking around on the starting line. put the tcs on and just pin it in first. make your time on the track .1 in the first 5 seconds of the race ain't putting anybody in the grave.

if you insist on going about this race incorrectly and turning the tcs off, just start full rev in third, and when the revs drop down to to the proper point (trial and error to find it), shift down to second and have no or minimal spin.

^^^ yeah, the most amount of time you could loose would be .200 secs (???) which could be made up in two laps

But that .200 secs can be a big difference.

It could be but I think most wouldnt notice it after the race. I think Ill give up now after having a fastest lap that Ihave run so far. Ive got sore thumbs now

i haven't been back on this since i posted my last sectors :embarrassed:

to be honest i have neither the time , nor the patience to go back on it :irked: Torc is taking my efforts this week .

i'll submit my time later ;)

congrats to Max on a 2nd win  i have ESP :mischievous:
unless of course Red Eye or anyone else ? can dethrone Maximillian:D

laters :banghead:

well, that .2 seconds has made a big difference in my race. With my last time being less then a second it made the world between times. If your gonna race something like this race, every aspect is important. I might not be able to throw down the race results you guys have, but when I am able too, it would also make a difference.

A idea about TCS.Start a few races using different start techniques,TCS and no TCS.Accelerate to 100 mph each time and make a note of the time it takes by pausing the game at 100 mph.Watching the replay will work also.Do this a few times and go racing.Time spent will be about 15 minutes.:D

My pick:2nd gear-full power tcs on.
