Yes, John is Sandstorm. CB, how you doin on the race so far?

Don't u people use steeringwheel...?

I'm using gt force feedback, and of course no asm & tcs.MT

Best L1 T2 is 41.9xx and L2 T2 best is 35.4xx
The only problem is to get these laps into one race:irked:

i eventually got into race mode with this last night :embarrassed: i was doing better in free run

best save has...

lap 1 T2 -41.9xx
lap 2 T2 -35.8xx:(

i can say my 35.1xx t2's in free run are very likely not gonna happen in race mode :irked: i'll keep at it though ;)

good luck to all and congrats to the guys pulling 35.4's in race

Analog is only the best ever thing to happen to GT!

I currently use D-pad and Auto with behind-car view. I'm old school.

I've only had one sesson to try but so far my best clean race that I have saved has T1's of 42.478 and 36.365.

I know I can get more time off my total but I may not have any other chance to work on it as I'm really busy this week. My first session might be the only one I get.:(

me 2,.... I'm gunnin for the'41.5/35.5' but that will be pretty tough.

I might make a last ditch effort back to DS/2-AT if I cant improve....

After a couple of practice sessions in Free Run, and a couple of race sessions, I'm sitting at an L1 T2 of 42.4xx and an L2 T2 around 36.5xxx. I've still got one more session to run this morning before I submit my time.

I can't wait to see replays from the 41/35er's, to see where I'm loosing :) (Hopefully my sharkport won't be on backorder too much longer!!)

Yikes.

I have been toying around with getting the MOMO wheel for some time now, not just to increase the realism of the game, but to improve my times. I just can't seem to part with the high $$ though, much less convince the Mrs.

After reading Mr. P's post above, however, it looks like there is plenty of room for improvement just using the DS2/D-pad. Maybe I'll give MT a try.

OMG!

I've been at this MT thing for less than 1/2 hour and I've already beaten my best auto time!

I can't believe how much faster this is with MT, and I've barely got it under control, much less mastered it!

Thanks for the encouragement(?).

TCS should be ON here. in the slow turns there is just too much wheelspin and your having you ding-ding kicked at the start as well.

REALLY!?
I've been having much better luck with TCS off. That may change if we were able to tune the suspension and LSD, but in 'stock' form, the controlled wheel spin almost seemed necessary.

Thanks for the tip Max, but now you'd better watch your rear view mirror!

L1 T2: 42.4xx
L2 T2: 35.8xx

And a whole second off the race time (largely in part to the final turn)! 👍

Nope. If you don't get a chance to race, it will not drop you down in class.

@SandStorm: You can send in any updated times that you have.
Please clear out your mailbox. ;)

This race can be pretty frustrating :banghead:
Had best sectors of 42.0 and 35.8 in races but not managed to piece that good un together yet :(
Did manage earlier to beat my lap 1 by 1.2 seconds but nerves got the better of me and my 2nd lap was 1.7 secs slower than my race save

I've noticed Ron takes the corkscrew in 3rd all the way where as I drop to 2nd at the very top of the turn and then go to 3rd on the way out, it seems to slow for me in 3rd but it obviously isn't.

I'm using ds2( D-pad) MT, tcs ON ..it's a must for the take off ;)

I go with third through the screwer.

after many runs today...new best save! L1 T2 42.7 and L2 T2 36.1, which is my best L2 T2 to date tho i have gotten better L1 T2's in other races. I know how im supposed to be takin the turns, its just a matter of actually doing it! haha, im using DS2, full analog, MT and TCS....but im starting to see where a wheel would be very advantageous. just too bad i dont have have enough cash to get one right now :( I too drop down to 2nd in the screw...i tried keeping it in third early on but gave it up, i'll have to try it again. my biggest problem is that very last 90 degree turn....i can never take that just right

Wheww, scared me for a second. I Finally got some freetime but I wont get very fast in one and a half days :(, and will need a brake. Will try to race next week ;)...

With these post above me in mind, will we be notified of class changes?

I also want to mention that I feel comfortable with my current time...

Not because it is all that great, but really because it is a combination of 2 laps that were both about as good as its gonna get for me in arcade.

Behind car view is old school? That's what i use...but i use the analogue and MT...

I use to use the behind veiw in GT2 only because they gave a far away chase camera. I started off in GT3 with the chase veiw but I switched to in-car a little later...

you're very welcome QB. i always like to spead joy through the world.i know from my younger GT3 days that nothing beats a great tip that hacks off a big chunk of time.

P.S. i'm always checkin my mirrors for fresh meat :P :D

So you guys suggest using TCS...i guess i will seeing as you're one of the fastest here...

I see that we are both using the same setup, but I am not using the TCS, have you tried it without it or not. I would love to compare T1 through T3 after this is over. If you have tried it without the TCS would you be able to send me your lap times after monday when everything is submitted. I'll try this with TCS tonight at some point. :)

i tried both, but i'm about as fast with either, though the corkscrew is easier with tcs. my main problem is the car is confused. spins out over everything below 65 and above 95, but then understeers mysteriously. i think the tires are possessed. can't seem to take the turn after t1 consistently. the arcade set up needs work.

i've been free running. very disappointed with my time. at best i'm 36.07-36.7. i think it's turn one that's throwing me. i'm not sure if i should take it wide at a 55-57 or if i should go tight at 53 or if I should maintain the tightline or allow the car to build speed and go to the outside. my guess is that slowing to the high 40s on a tight line than letting the car drive me through with a bit of correction is the best option. now third gear might be the right gear, but it seems to put the rpm in a torque weak range. i think it's a 2nd gear corner.
