Hi All,
Your settings are very close to mine,IDAFC21.Same with the T times. So far ,the closest win is over the GT-One,by.032.
It seems to me that you have to drive without wall contact,it scrubs so much momentum, that it is very difficult to make up.
The AI doesn't take kindly to being passed,I've been stuffed into the wall countless times, and I end up looking back in the mirror as much as looking forward.
Very challenging Boom!

Go here http://us.codejunkies.com/shop/home.asp?c=US&cr=USD&cs=$&r=0&l=1

This is the official Datel e-shop site. The link brings you to the american e-shop site and you can see the Xport at the top in the middle. 29.99$ + shipping. I placed an order about a month ago. Received it in 5 days in Canada. Should be shorter in the States I would believe. Shipping isnt too expensive either.

Damn this is hard!!! Can finish 2nd without too many problems but first is pretty tough while trying to stay clean. Fastest T1 I have seen was 30.4 and my best lap 2 was around 1'34.4

praise jeebus!! it has been done!! i have a clean save!! there is some AI contact, but most of it was AI initiated, so it doesnt count, and the rest were just some slight paint trading, nothing that id consider damaging to the car or to my advantage. No wall touches either, which was the important thing. Lap one saw t times of 38.3/1.20.9 for a 1'41.1, and lap 2 had 30.4/1'13.0 for a 1'33.3. Not my best times....but its CLEAN, so if i can do NOTHING else for the rest of the week, i'll at least have somthing to submit. I think im starting to get this figured out tho, and i hope i can pull somthing better before the weeks over. i ended up getting 2nd in that race, i was in third the whole time w/ the gt-one and R390 in front of me, until the last lap, after the long straight before the right hander to the train tracks, the gt-one braked WAY too early and i was able to slink past him :D it was tough keeping him away for the last part of the race tho. it was sweet tho, on that 90 degree right turn that leads up to the chicane before the start/finish line, he tried to take me on the outside and couldnt, so the camaro race car plowed into him, and they had to fight out the rest of the way and camaro ended up taking 3rd and the gt-one got 4th  that'll show that stupid gt-one

still running laps in Free-Mode. Best lap I've managed to pull out is a 1'36.026. After one really bad run with the cars in the arcade-mode race, I'm not going near that yet...

After a few 3rd place finishes I’m now getting constant 2nd's and 1st's With very little AI contact. I dont know If it's the Setup or if It's because this in one of my favorite tracks :D either way I'll post my findings and my setup when I finish fine tuning it.

I have found a lot of places in this track where I can Overtake the AI

At the first turn if you late brake you can pass any of the AI but its more difficult with the Toyota and the Nissan.

At the top of the Steps :P If i brake early at the bottom of the last Incline and just coast to the apex an then slam the gas I can overtake another of the AI pretty easily even the GT1.

At the Last right hander you can easily under brake the AI and pullout a clean pass but they tend to repass if you go wide so keep it tight and use a defensive line. When I’m 1st or 2nd I have to look behind going down the second straight and block the AI from passing me. The AI also tends to slow down a lot at the last turn so If you are quick out of there you can pass them down the straight.

Although It may be possible to make a pass on the turn just before the seccond straight away It's hard to stay clean so I just line up to get a run down the stretch, I can then go in real deep and pass about 2 cars. One race I passed both the GT1 and the R90 at that turn on the last lap and came first. One time I was in first place before the end of the first lap but only for about 5 seconds. What I usually do is pass 3 of the AI at the various points on the first lap and Then I use this corner to pass the GT1 and R90 in the other 2 laps. I works for me. :)

Hope this helps some of you beginners
I’ll post my setup when I boot up the PS2

Me too...
I've just done about 10 laps and recorded a best of 1:35.4xx. That's with 442 bhp, as I haven't changed the oil yet...
Now it's time to have a go at the race...

Noojra, what lineup are you running w/? i find a good one for me is the very first one they give you, w/ the r390, gt-one, gt40, camaro, vertigo, and me. the spots i use to overtake are pretty much the same ones you do, usually if i can keep up w/ the vertigo and get a good run before the "steps" i can draft him halfway up and overtake him at the top when he brakes. somtimes the gt40 and camaro get jumbled up going up those and if im real lucky i can pass them up too, but this doesnt happen very often. if i cant pass the camaro, i can usually overtake him on the next right hander after the T1, but you gotta be careful w/ that one as theres not much room between him and the wall. the other spot i use it right after the long straight before the tracks, you can definently out-brake a car or 2 there, depending on how close or scattered they are. the third spot i use is after the chicane before the start/finish. i get an exit speed out of there anywhere from 98-100mph if i do it right and can definently get a run on someone if i need to. I usually place second because the gt-one always screws up near the end of the last lap, but w/ the r390 i just cant overtake him unless he and the gt-one get jumbled up, and even then i cant hold them off for that long

ive also got a new clean save. At least i think its clean...theres one questionable incident but i dont think it was an "illegal" move. at the top of the hills i outbraked the vertigo and camaro, and started turning in and the camaro was right next to me on the outside and i kinda scraped up against him a couple times thruought that turn, but i definently wasnt using him as a wall, so thats legal right? i didnt hit him hard, it didnt even make a sound. Other than that, the contact thru the rest of the race was pretty light, and usually AI initiated. lap one saw 37.9/1'20.6 for a 1'41.1, and lap 2 saw 30.6/1'13.1 for a 1'33.4, plus about a good second and half off my total time from my last save. Its definently getting easier now, you just gotta be patient and wait for that perfect race. And you just gotta pick a lineup that works best w/ you, and do it over and over, and get to learn the other cars habits and driving styles, and then just sit back and really use your best judgement. you definently cant overpower them in this car so you just have to wait for them to make a mistake an capitalize on it

Sounds fine to me. I usually take the corners differently than the AI too and rub against them just like you are.

Yeah, i looked at it again and theres really less contact than i thought there was..i really only nudge him a couple times. Im trying to upload a short vid clip i made of it, if boom doesnt mind i could post it up and let you all be the jugde, its only about 5 seconds long and doesnt show anything except the one turn, it wouldnt really be giving much away, i turned the time off so you dont see that either.

you know.......im usually pretty calm thru the race, but somtimes when i look in my rear view mirror and see THIS

I usually end up needing a new pair of shorts.....

lol
Sometimes I see a naked man running after me. Then I need new pants, but probably because a different fluid was released. Then after that, I do my second line of crack and take some more acid.

As a point of intrest, who has won this race and done it clean

And no I aint gonna do this 'un, was too friggen hard the first time I tried it out and I doubt that its gotten any easier

'luck all

...ya gonna need it:mischievous:

I've won with a clean race, but time was too slow compared to 9BC results so didn't save the race or post #s.

I dont care how fast or slow I am this week, i just wanted somthing clean..which ive done (at least as clean as it CAN be) Aniyone who can manage to get thru this race and not touch the AI once and still come out w/ the fastest time I will  to

Hey Boom, you never answered my question. May or may not the slower people like myself run in the Amateur American cup 3-lapper? The cars are slower, and obtaining the times should be easier...

Jpec, I found that its not too hard to get decent lap times, but rather keeping all three laps clean. The AI level of the cars shouldn't affect your lap times too much either.

Only problem with that is that I won't be able to discuss my times on here (I could submit a time, i just won'te be able to tell everyone my lap 1 and 2 times nor any of the T times...). And my cleanest lap with close to 500bhp in this car is only a 1'35.9...

If you would feel more comfortable doing so, and any other drivers in your division would agree, then yes.

But I'm failing to understand what the problem is. Could you please explain in greater detail?

the problem is just me wanting to discuss my tiems and not being able to in the actual race listed. I will try to boost my times to get in first place among the GT1 cars, but if that doesn't work then I'll have to run it in simulation mode...
