Jpec, it's a hassle, but you could watch the replay and turn on the times, and write them down. Not the funnest thing to do, but, meh.

but the thing is the replay doesn't show my T times or the lap times so the purpose is defeated...
(when I'm not in first, that is)

Hmm.. this comparison between gt2 and gt3 I am doing shows perhaps more difference then I excpected..

The integra (same model as you, 98 type r (j)) but with 100 less hp am I able to run at clean T2:s ~1.11 (the T2 isn't at the same place in gt2 so it's just a judgement +/- 0.5s)..

Anyway I got 1 clean save after some attempts to submit, but there's a lot of time to improve on that one.

So the replay shows the T-times of the winning AI car? I thought it only showed the human car's T-times...

I thought that the replay showed the T times and the lap times of the car selected during the replay. That is how you can see what kind of times the AI is running so you can make adjustments if your losing.

Well, I finally got a clean set of laps under my belt.

Lap 1
T1: 38.754
T2: 1'22.036
Finish: 1'46.626

Lap 2
T1: 32.955
T2: 1'17.558
Finish: 1'38.014

Both of the lap times are horrid, I know that, but it's hard keeping all three of those laps clean. Most AI contact was light, the hardest being when that 🤬 GT40 tapped me into a wall.

Second set of laps ignored.

New problem
Well, I was looking at the replay to make sure that everything was legit. There was one spot that I had to take a good hard look at before I came to the conclusion that it was just a change in steering. However, theres a different time where it's virtually impossible to tell. I went onto the side walk and it was sort of rocky so the in car view tells me nothing. I can't get it to change camera angles because the one that its giving me shows it perpindicular to my motion, so I can't tell depth. If I had to lean one way or the other, of course I would say it's good, but I'm not 100% sure. What do I do?

Well, if you're not comfortable with it and there is a bit of doubt in your mind, then try again for one you are more happy and confident in.

Ugh. I was thinking you were going to say that. Why not just, "Mike, you know what you fantastic guy, how about you just ignore all that and we'll keep that time you have."

I know! You drive your little IS300 down, and look at the reply, and then I drive your car for a while.

That's a GREAT idea! Would you let me drive your Hyundai? Let me feel all 90 lung crushing HP!

Now get racing.

And what lame excuse do you have for not having a Sharkport yet? ;)

You sarcastic little son of a 🤬 mother 🤬 I'll 🤬 hunt you down you pile of 🤬! :D Sorry, I had to do that. lol, MY CAR RULES YO'!

Ugghhh. Well, I went looking again, no one has it. I'll have to order it off the net.

Hey don't knock Hyundais!

My Elantra has served me well for it's first 50,000 miles. At least none of the 5 tranny's I've had put in have ever lost Reverse gear. Thank God for warranties!

This is the first time I really played with the settings, so I doubt they'll be anything grand. If you give them a try, tell me how you like them.

Spring Rate: 16.1/12.5
Ride Height: 90/100
Shock Bound: 8/10
Shock Rebound: 8/10
Camber: 2.0/1.0
Toe: -0.5/1.0
Stabilizers: 7/7
Brake Balance: 9/11

LSD: 5/10/5
Gears: I've tweaked with them, and I'm pretty proud of what they are. They're mine! :D

ASM: 0
TCS: 5

Those settings snagged me these times:

Lap One
T1: 38.500
T2: 1'21.056
Finish: 1'42.003

Lap Two
T1: 30.904
T2: 1'13.565
Finish: 1'34.051

After looking at the replays, I was sure I had a clean lap, no wall touching, none even in question, and very little AI contact.

And I just tossed in my order for an XPort so you'll all be able to witness my AWSOME replays. :P

Here are some settings I've been playin around with.

12.1/20.0
89/134
10/10
10/10
2.0/1.0
-2.0/-2.0
2/6
19/24
Auto 28
TCS: 2

The ass end of the car with this set up is pretty stiff. Thinkin bout lowering the rear stabs and rear bound.

I snagged some settings from one of the uber-fast guys that did this race in last years board challenge, they seem to work pretty well for me, i'll have to write em down next time i boot the ps2 up so i can post em up

I just ran the race in my little Type R, and was quickly disheartened by my lack of abiility to hold a 5th place for an entire lap. So, to boost my confidence, I took a round in the 787B. fun race, although I learned that I'm not that much better than the AI (I did win by a second with a fastest time of 1'23.2, but I only pulled that lap off after the first two laps of warming up to the 787). So, does anyone have any vital tips that will improve my racing?

Step 1: Get a Sharkport/Xport. It will give you a chance to view other people and what techniques they use to race and their settings.

Step 2: Practice, practice and then practice some more. The more you play the more you learn on how to go faster.

Step 3: At least for this race, with a high powered FF car, go easy on the throttle exiting a corner. Hard acceleration equals understeer.

Step 4: Learn to use your settings properly. I beleive that //M-Spec has made a quite thourough post on what every aspect of suspension and gear tuning. I beleive that it's been made a sticky here in the GT settings forum. Take a look.

I've decided to pass this week, I started to run some laps a few days ago and I just wasn't feelin' it. So I tried again yesterday and again last night, I just am not not really enjoying this one for some reason. I think I'm just having too much fun in the ARC series right now, the pavement just isn't calling this week.:embarrassed:

Good luck too all the racers who complete a clean race, this one seemed like it would be a real hair-puller-outer:banghead:

I can't decide if this has been the best or worst week I've ever spent with GT3. I've put about 300 miles on my Integra and only have 2 clean races to show for it. Its been really frustrating but I'm now managing some much faster lap times than when I started, so I'm calling it an overall positive experience.

Best clean run: (1)1:43, (2)1:34.

Have one, but I don't really like using it sometimes (unless I have a really good lap that I want to share with the world)

Time constraints. I try to practice as much as possible; maybe I'll work on getting the Golds on the lisences soon...

Lesson easily learned. problem isn't that, it's knowing when to start turning (half of the problem is the AI; when they're not around I can pull a 1'35.6, but they are around in this race and they're getting in my way

I will do that; settings always have been a difficult aspect of my race...

Regarding our q's about how to watch your car in the replay...

Press up or down on the D-pad to scroll through the six cars.

well. after 2 and half hours of restarts, and line-up changes, and swearing, and throwing the controller around, I finally have a new awesome clean save thats almost 2 seconds faster than my previous one. The only AI contact that occured was a few instances in the first lap where a car would brush up against my rear coming out of a few turns, but it wasnt anything harsh (didnt even make a crash noise) so i wouldnt consider any of it "disabling" to the car. First lap was 37.6/1'19.1 for a 1'39.5. Second lap was a 30.3/1'12.3 for a 1'32.5. Third lap wasnt quite as good as i wouldve liked...but its hard to keep your mind clear when youve got a 787B and Zonda crawlin up your arse  I havent decided if im gonna stop w/ this save or not...ive far surpassed anything i couldve hoped for this week...im sure i could do better..but i dont know if its worth the frustration or not...haha.

Oh yeah, and heres those settings i promised. I take NO credit for these, as I kinda "borrowed" em from one of the fast guys that ran this race in last years board comp.

8.1/11.0
89/135
10/2
2/10
2.8/1.1
2.0/-0.5
1/1

24/20

5/5/5
final drive: 4.935
auto gear: 28
tcs 2

enjoy :D

Go Go Gadget Integra! AWAY!!

 Sorry...i need sleep. I must say I have a new found respect for this car tho. I mean I already had respect for it as one of the best FF cars in the game, but I never would've imagined it'd be capable to go up against cars like a 787B, or Zonda, or R390, and WIN....FAIRLY!

Awesome pic.

Hell you could almost beat the AI with a Mini cause they drive like a bunch of 2-pantied grannies...

Lap1: 1'44.564
T1: 0'39.618
T2: 1'23.167

Lap 2: 1'35.355
