@ gokents-get rid of that ghost, at this point you know the track well enough to get rid of it. you're concentrating on it too much and it's hurting you.

Well actually you are right.

But let me elaborate on my theory.

You see, with a wheel that is moving, the same wheel will turn more easily than a wheel that is being forced to slow down.

With the rear brakes doing the work, the fronts will be able to turn in under braking more easily.

I also believe that the theories in the back of the manual would suggest that with less traction being applied to the braking of the front wheels, there would be more availible for the turning of the wheel.

Of course, I still have much to learn about with the physics of the cars in the game.

Plus, it is specifically for the turn in under braking and not over steer.

If you can turn in under braking with more ease, you woulnt have to worry about oversteer the same way.

I dont really know what to say besides good luck and ask one of the pros.

I think they should be able to give better advice.

Or now that I think about it...

Try putting the rear toe in further towards the inside of the car... maybe positive 1.

Then you will be the rear wheels closer together and possible make the car turn easier with the same efforts at the same speed.

That is just theory off the top of my head right now, so please, tell me if I am mistaken, which is very possible.

And thanks max.

I know your right, and I know that I can lose the ghost.

Actually I already have, but I freakin had the hardest time doing it.

Plus, everytime I think Im doing it just about right, I start stressin just like everyone else here when we notice we are beating our ghost.

I think Im just gonna have to put my faith in my knowledge of the course and forget the ghost.

But if you have more braking pressure on the front of the car, then thats the car will tip forward (weight distribution or something like that) thus applie more weight to the front of the tires, thus more grip.

ahh, but its more grip for braking in this case.

Remember what the booklet says about this...

It uses the idea that there is only 100% availible grip at any time. If your using 50% for braking, then only 50p% is availible for turning.

So with wieght going forward and putting grip down on the front wheels, you will more likely be putting grip into the braking area and not the turning area.

Maybe front bias is used when the driver has a 'brake then turn' sytle. Rear bias may be used when using the 'brake and turn' style. You think?

well, if you think about it, do you turn when your on the brake or do you turn when you just let go of the brake. I turn after I let go of the brake and the weight is starting to move to an even point. You have to catch it at the right time and then you'll use 100% of your turning traction just right. You know you hit it because you'll just feel the car glide beautifully.

I have no clue how I do it... but I did put up my suggestions about this because I was assuming that the driver in need was using a turn as he braked at the last second strategy.
Not a turn after braking strategy.

I think that I use a mix because of the new pressure sensitive controls.

I dont know, but its too late for me.. catch you later.

Thanks to Gokents and HRT-Maloo who told me how to get rid of my understeer which resulted in me cutting my fastest time by 0.600 of a second. I didn't save the replay (forgot too, damn :banghead:) so I don't know what my T2 time was, something like 47.6. Thanks guys. D

Going to have one last go at this tonight...

Nup, i just can't be bothered...got a busy time with school-work now...couldn't turn in a good time.

i've pretty much run this thing into the ground. i've only got one goal left to reach but it will be tricky. last go will be tonight. tomorrow night i'll be good for nothing after work with my caffeine poinsoning  good luck to anybody else taking thier last licks for the next two days 👍

i'm running flat out for the entire curve up to it. after crossing the line i get on the far left of the straightaway and cut in sharply to the fist bend. it's relatively easy to keep it full throttle. then when i come up to the tighter second bend before the big double left, i'm again way to the left and i dive in still at full throttle. i quickly make my way to the right of the track before the double lefty. i jam the brakes and double downshift to 4th getting the car just a little sideways and pointed into the second apex, i stay in 4th and drive out. that's how it's done. i only hit the brakes (and let off the gas, for that matter) one time before the T1. any more than that and you're losing time.

Ran this to death last night my eyes are  out of my head
As you know i had to run in a new car . I decided to run at rome and try out the various settings while braking the car in ..
I started with Maxe's settings while running in ,And i found them to be really good in the early stages
As the Bhp increased it just was'nt happening for me

I was running laps in the mid 46's mark
As soon as the car reached it's optimum level i mucked about with settings and mucked about again ( Now i know what the F1 engineers feel like )

In the end i opted for a fusion of both Maxe's settings and Daans and a few of my own additions which really worked well for me ..

New best save 46.144 and i took the last two turns alot better than i have before knocked 3tenths off my best lap im so stoked i thought that it would be allmost impossible for me to run laps that fast but i hung in there :D

I noticed lotus done the exact same think as i did ran a 45.802 my first ever :D but the very last turn got me in exatly the same way and the lap was 100% up to that point :( At least now i know i can run sub 45,s and it might give me enough go try for it again
But im more than happy with my time so far

I also had to adopt a whole new driving style before i was running on the ragged edge
Then i opted for the slow in fast out approach on the harder turns to avoid the car fliking out or wheel spinning ..This is the style im gonna stick with from now on

A big thanks to everyone that provided settings and advice i know i would be 2 or 3 or more seconds off the pace if it was'nt for you guys  ;)

Im definatly going to give it one last shot as each time i go faster i get the hunger to run more laps :D

i dunno. the kids are hogging the ps2 but i take the first bend around 173, the second bend at around 183 never going below 177 and the double left i don't know off the top of my head, i'll check when i get the chance.

Righto here's the settings i used

I can't really take credit for them as they are both Max E's and Daans just my cocktail of them ..

But this is the setup that worked for me and i will use these till the end

Springs 5.8 / 6.8
Ride 75 /75
Damper Bound 10 /10
Rebound 10 /10
Cambers 1.5 / 3.5
Toe -0.5 / -2.0
Stabilisers 4 /6
Brakes 18 / 21
LSD's 6,6,50
Auto 21 Daans tranny trick
Downforce Maximum
TCS Level 3

These settings got me my first sub 45.8xx T2 but you could also run mid to low 46's consistantly

I know it's a wee bit late to post these up but for anyone looking for a last ditch improvement check them out

They worked well for me and im no Pro
But the source material is from pro's
Im off to try for that sub 45 T2 again ..

Good luck everyone i can see this is gonna be one hell of a close one 👍.

my gt is in miles per hour is yours the european version? can i change between mph and kph on the american vers???
anyhow this was ahard race im sure i will come in last. fun though

please sandstorm. do not force us to ban you from this comp and perhaps even all comps at this board. you are making a fool of yourself here. this is your last chance to come clean and just post your real times. what you are claiming is just not happening. please, do the right thing here and now and all will be forgiven. i know that sometimes people get carried away and start making silly claims like running otherworldly T2's in a ragged out car and sometimes things get a little out of hand like they have here. take this opportunity to be honest and true. do not destroy your reputation before you can even build it.
