Weekly Race Series, Week 39

The Car: Clio Sport Race Car. Fully modded. Equip your tire choice of T6, T7 or T8

The Track: Grand Valley Speedway

The Race: Simulation Mode, Amateur League, MR Challenge. 5 lapper with tire damage.

The Rules:

1. Keep 2 tires on the track at all times.
2. Rumble strips are considered part of the track.
3. Keep wall contact to a minimum. 3 wall touches permitted. If a wall touch is severe enough to incapacitate your car, then the run is not allowed. Speed drop of 10 mph or kph.
4. No wall riding or wall contact that is advantageous.
5. Keep AI contact to a minimum. Any AI contact that gives you an advantage is illegal.
6. Must use either T6, T7 or T8 tires. You may combine these tires.
7. Save your replay.

Time Discussion: All "T" times and laps 1 through 4.

The Deadline: Monday at midnight. The 17th of November. Same as Tuesday @ 0700 GMT.


Please include which division you are running in along with your final time.

If the AI makes contact with you, well,it's your choice if you want to continue. If they push you off the track, it wont make your run illegal.

The wall contact rule I added due to the races length. I don't want a slight rub of the wall to ruin 5 laps of good racing so that's why I included that light wall touches are acceptable. I also stated that any wall touch that is advantagous is illegal. 👍

damn it, i dont have this car. Looks like im gunna have to race superspeedway enduro to win it. I better get it first time or i mite be to lazy to race this week.i geuss i can just ride the walls in the escudo gotta love that car for races u dont need to watch.

Those are the 3 softest tires.

They are the softer ones. When buying or changing tyres, there is a superscript 'T' number before the description.
For racing tyres, T2 is the 'Super Hard' and T8 is 'Super Soft'.

OK.. Where to begin here.

If you all don't know it already, I've done a significant amount fo research into how the AI cheats through out the amateur league. When you are trailing the AI, they all use a standard set-up. As soon as you pass them, the game will alter the power multiplier to keep the AI competitive. This amounts to keeping the race close.

In fact, I was the steward on a GTBN spot race that looked into this: Cost Cutting Measures. The only difference was we ran on Tokyo R246. GT3mich will remember this one.

What we finally realized is that you could win this race and still be very slow. For instance, Crazyhorse ran a 9'13 race and lost by 0.212seconds, yet I was able to win it against the same field 9'43+.

This one looks interesting, so I'll jump on it soon. However with Uncle Bob's Diablo series coming up soon, I'm not sure how much time I will have.

Anyone wanna share their best lap times with me so I know if I am on the right track. So far my best lap was lap 2 with 1'48.822.

I'm using T6 tires and they need changing at the end of lap 4.

You're on track with me. That was about my time give or take a tenth. I think I changed my tyres at the end of lap 3.

It's that last lap I gotta nail.
I reckon the 'drifters' will claim this week.

A better approach might be to buy the Clio, and then use it to win the SS Enduro. You recover your investment in the Clio (and then some if you win the F1), get the Clio most of the way broken in, and best of all, you only have to run the Enduro once.
