Gonna be tough to not pit on this one. I gave it a try with T6/T6, purposely avoiding the rumbles to avoid tire wear and I think 2 of the tires were red at the end. Still, I think a no pit strategy is best, especially if you have a wheel.

Best lap so far 1:50.1

But I've finished first in all 5 attempts. Three times on T6s, and twice on T7/T8 combo. By Der Alta's theory, I must be 30 sec. off the pace. Too slow to lose! :D I'll just have to keep practicing until I can get beat!

best lap was under 1:46 on a pitting strategy. Considerably slower without pitting. Not gonna say which was the faster total time ;)

ran a few races w/ this earlier. best lap was a 1'47.0XX is anyone elses last lap slower than their first?

Sough, I'm gonna take a guess that the slower time was the one with pitting because the pits add up to 30 seconds per pit-in. It is interesting, I ran a lap with loose tuning earlier today, and I was shocked to learn that I won by a mere 2 seconds (no pitting in). Indeed, the AI will need to be monitored a bit more closely on my part...

OK, took a quick test run in one that I had floating around. On T7's I turned a fast lap of 1'46.153. I'm a bit surprised to see some of the fast guys way off that pace. Then again, I posted that lap in an arcade "hard" race.

This car is quite surprising.

The AI is a non factor in this race. You should be clear of them before the 1st right hand turn. My fastest lap in a saved race is 1'46.xxx with tire wear. I want two laps in the high 1'45's and I'll be happy.

wicked i didnt know that you could buy this car.Thats gunna save alot of time.Although, i have exams for acouple weeks so i think my game time will be severly cut.:(

if im driving my line and a car gets in my way does that disqualify me or am i supposed to get out of their way

Anybody care to share some T1, T2 and Lap times ?...

On flying laps I can't seem to get my T1 below the 19 second mark.
Flying lap times are usually mid to high 1.48's and 1st lap around the 1.58's...

Other than that - I really really like that little RenaultSport beast :mischievous:

That's very similar to what I'm getting, though I think I may have seen one 1'46 go by.

This isa tough one to get a feel for how hard to push the tires and which tires / pit strategy to use.

I tried the softest tires and couldn't make it around 3 laps with them. I tried the second softest tires and pitted on the 3rd lap, but that hurt my final time by 20 seconds!!!

I think it would be advantageous to pit after the second lap and save the three lap stretch for the back half (because you have to launch on the first set of tires). However, from the way things are shaping up, it looks like a no-pit strategy is best.

When I pitted, I beat the AI cars by more than when I did not, but the final time was 20 seconds slower... cheaters :)

I'd also like to point out that I have always been really terrible with tire wear turned on. :(

I ran the race once today. Best lap time was about 1´49.2. I´m using T6 tires.

And btw; Like Flerbizky said, that Renault IS a beast.

I tried a couple times. The middle laps were all 1'48.xxx, but I forget what the first was. No pits, using the T6s.

It's odd, after watching the BC3 and seeing the Nissan Z Concept around SSR 5/11 with a five lapper, I wanted to do something like that. So far I'm liking it. Fun stuff.

i dont know how you guys can do all 5 without pitting i tried it once and imy last lap was like 2:30 so for me i think it will be faster for me to pit and having said that my best is 1:48.0

Hey! that was the race I represented the gtp for... could have done better maybe  :banghead: :irked: :mischievous: but in the end I pulled a 7th place. 7th was also the overall placing of the gtp and if I may say so, I was happy to make the gtp, none the less, not come in last in my race.

So yeah... blah blah blah.

I ran this once yesterday, didn't need to pit... first and last laps were about 1.6 seconds apart in lap time.

Good luck w/ the race you guys.:D

Nobody ever asked me to talk about BC3 as far as I know;)

I worked on this race Tuesday night, what a great little car! I've been turning laps anywhere from 1.45's to high 1'47's with T6's installed and a no pit stop strategy. That last lap is rather tough (and a bit slower) once your front left tire has turned into molten lava. Here's my settings if you think you can handle them, I've got it set up to slide that azz around all the bends;)

9.0/12.0
73/78
8/8/8/8
2.0/3.0
0/0
7/5

Brakes 12/24

LSD 5/30/5

Trans Auto 27
D/F .74/.91
TCS 1

Max HP is 513 once fully broken in.

See you all later,I'll be at the track

how could u do all the race without pit stop? i tryed it yesterday but after 2 laps my tires was red.

You're on T8's right :mischievous: CFMan is on T6's....

I ran the T7's and had to pit on lap 3. That garnered me a fast lap of 1'48.245.

In my second running, I ran a fast lap of 1'49.526 on T6's with no pit. This shaved 20+ seconds off my time.

T6's and no pitting is the way to go on this one. the best advice I can give to the guys having trouble with 5 laps, is listen to the tires. If you hear screeching, you're eating up your tires, and loosing time. Straight line breaking and smooth acceleration combined with smooth turning. Less snapping full steering lock to full steering lock.

Have to agree with this. A pit stop in/out takes 25 seconds but you lose even more as it's on the fastest part of the circuit so true time is probably more like 30.

The last lap on screaming red tyres is frustrating but a good challenge nonetheless. I think I might have to retract my 'drifters will win' statement from before.

More likely to be smooth, calm, measured racing that wins.

Or maybe.... oh... what do I know? The fastest will win. There, that's my prediction.

LOL!

I think that some of us might have just gotten burnt out on bc3... but yeah, if you guys ever wanna talk bc3, or talk about getting ready for bc4, you know where I am.

btw, everyone here should know that cfm, as well as several other members of the team did an excellent job with their races in the bc3.

Anyway, about this race...

Yes, der alta is right. Listen to him.

As for me, haven't had the time I've wished for. (with my semester research paper final editing going down and a due date of (oh ****!) today.)

I will get back to you guys once Ive done some work with this race. But Im sure no one is going to be holding their breath.

btw, thanks again for the remarks about bc3. The whole team appreciates you guys taking a look at how we did and recognizing that we did much better than last year. (all thanks to the weekly if you ask me :D )

Hope everyone is doing good with this race :)

oh that's a blow out, I didnt know that you couldnt qualify on these races, well, it's gonna take me about a sec or so of my best time...

so far my best lap time in my save has been 1'48.xxx with T6 on front and rear and without pit stops, when I make a pit stop my time is always slower by about 3 to 6 seconds. But of course, that last lap, geeze, it's such an adventure to control the car, it's quite fun:lol:

i tryed T6 front and rear, it's good in my second attemp i make for lap 2 : 1.47,7xx
For lap 3 : 1.47,7xx
for lap 4 : 1.47,9xx

but for the lap 5 it's very difficult tomake a good time because the front tires are going to red:irked:
