In seeing the thread count under our avs, it made me think of another feature that would be sweet... a button that lets you see all of that person's posts in the current thread. Could be useful, but is it tough to implement?

I think the only thing I don't like is the blue line and the use of the tabs. Nothing else on the site (besides the Advanced Options by the search bar) uses that blue. It might look okay if it were about half as thick. And the tabs just look "old" being plain text on a background. They need something to have a 3D effect.
 
I’m not so sure about the post count under the avatars. Especially the number of threads created. Seems like some pretty useless information, and, as in all forums, it will probably encourage spamming. Why not use 'date joined' or something else instead?

Everything else looks brilliant. Thank you Jordan for all your hard work on this community :) 👍.
 
You know, even though my first impression of the new design was that it looked like an older site layout, that feeling has vanished for me - it looks very sleek and modern. And although I wasn't optimistic about getting used to it quickly, I'm amazed that I've already come to love it. 👍
 
Awesome, love it. It looks much much better on Opera mini on my phone and as an added bonus avatar and smilie images are now getting through the firewall in work :)

I haven't found any bugs yet but I'll key an eye out.
 
Fantastic! I love the way the forums are laid out, and i love the way posts are now displayed with poster and other miscellaneous information at the top of the post.

Maybe put PSN tags back there, it will make our beloved FetchBot work again :(

The only thing I've got time to comment on right now is the blog. I definitely prefer a more traditional setup. Autoblog instead of Jalopnik as an example. I realize the important stuff is usually laid out in the title, the picture, and the first few sentences, but I don't like not being able to finish the first paragraph and I enjoy that larger pictures.

I agree I think the PSN id was more relevant than the post count.
 
So this is why the forums look so horrible now. Yuck, just checked out the news page...

Nice if you have improved the performance via code optimisation, but the look of the site has taken a hit.

EDIT: To add to this, the news section is not as useful now. Now I have to click on each news item just to get the details of it. That just wastes my time and your server time.
 
Here is what I think you should do for the gaming part, Jordan. Obviously I think the posts part there was a nice idea in design but like other people pointed out, it encourages the spammer inside of you :P

If you want to use that, I've made two icons for you (14x14 transparent png), all ready to go:

I'm liking the general layout and fonts used. I've even warmed to the names in a separate window above the main body copy. But i'm not really feeling the 'Posts:' link or the lack of PSN/Xbox tags. For those of us who can't use the GTP_'forum username' tag, it makes it hard for others to know who you when online gaming. Especially with a certain and relevant new game upcoming.
