Last update from me, fixes to the menu buttons (alternate logo but that's just me, I'm sure you like the big current one :P)

Here's the sprite if you wanna use it:

If you want to use any of the stuff I posted, exported it already for you in .png can do .gif if you prefer and got a .psd for each of them if you want them!
Alright, I'm off to bed... I need to be ready for the press conference tomorrow.

I don't know if it's just me but the size of the font in different threads keeps changing. For instance in the WRS threads it's the same default size. But i go into the GT5 section and pick a thread to read and it's like 3 times bigger?

The changed location of the username and user title.
It looks more tidy and clean, but that's the problem. They don't stand out any more, and It's a lot harder to keep track of people posting in the thread.

There are a lot of people who change their avatars frequently, so that's not always a good recognition point.

This is also the only thing that immediately jumped at me, but that aside everything looks pretty dang clean. Good job, mister Jordan.

Looking good! did we out do Facebook yet with regards to number of visits per minute? :sly:

There are a lot of members with an average post count which add more valuable posts than other users with a higher postcount.
As you said, you want more threads. But I wonder if showing the thread/post count, won't attract the kind of people who will make threads and posts, just to increase the number next to their posts?

This is very true. I also noticed that the thread counter also includes threads which have been locked or deleted.

That looks really neat Alba, I hope Jordan takes you up on that 👍 The current site buttons looks slighty odd what with the light blue and it not having any kind of gradation. Comparatively the current bottom header is very professional 👍

Also I found a glitch with the top buttons, If you hover with the mouse in the white area of the page just below the grey strip it still registers as the buttons clickable areas. So basically the button seletion areas are wider than the actual buttons.

Robin.

Continuing the clickable area point, I'm not sure if this was intentional or not but clicking *anywhere* in the post headers (ie the username bar) pops up the view profile/PM/view posts/give Premo list. Would be less of a nuisance if it only popped up if you clicked on the username itself, like in GTP9 :)

Not sure if I'm the only one, but the "G" in "Go Advanced" button sort of looks like a "C".

Probably more of a font complaint though.

Asking me that question right now may affect my answer, as this process has become a monumental task and has taken a tremendous amount of time and effort to complete. With that said, I do enjoy it, so I hope I will be able to continue. I always get ideas and play around with mockups, and if something starts to feel right, I'll keep moving it forward.
I'll give you a hint for GTPXI.

I'm going to bring up an ongoing argument that's never going to come to an end: which way the "older" arrow should point on a blog. I much prefer Autoblog's "Next Page" pointing to the right than an "Older" pointing to the left. The latest news is the first post, number 1, and therefore should be on the left of all of the older stuff, like a number line. The "Older" button should be on the right.

Another username thing that's bothering me: Names that don't have avatars totally disappear between posts, and when I do actually see it I have to decided whether it's in the above signature or not. Super annoying. That, and the blank box to the left with a location and post count seems to belong to a ghost, and it looks awfully unfinished. This only applies to the numerous non-Premium users without avatars that I've come across.

Jordan... your guessing skills are awesome. You hit the right moment to have a new GTP, just in time for E3 and the GT5 long awaited release date...

When I grow up I wanna be like you :)

I have an issue with the Online Chat feature of GTPX. I was on there today during the Sony deal, and I noticed alot of AUP violations! I think people need to be aware that the AUP does cover the Chat too. I also noticed the lack of moderators during the big chat. I saw Jordan on there at the beginning and I noticed that TM would pop his head in every now and then. But for the most part, the chat section was overtaken by trollers, spammers, and AUP violaters, and it was all left unchecked.

Just my two cents.

We all get a Chat transcript every day. Nothing goes unnoticed.

My front page put itself into Mobile mode and now it won't switch back. I get the dialog box that asks me if I want to switch back but it just reloads the mobile page or doesn't load at all

This has happened to me on GTP9, I had to delete the "mobile" part out of the URL.

Sorry for the double post...

I actually have a proper question for once!!

Why did you remove the number of views colum from the forum layout?

I personally like the repositioning of the usernames and user titles, but Keef is correct that posts made by people without avatars or signatures tend to disappear into the background, because their posts cover such a small area and don't have any visual features to distinguish them from a signature or something else to be easily overlooked. I doubt that this is possible, but is there a way to assign all posts a minimum size (perhaps equal to the size of a one-line post with a one-line signature), with white space making up the remainder? Another small annoyance is that embedded Youtube videos cover the drop-down menu, but I'm sure that there's no solution for that.

Is anyone else having a problem with the text being small, than normal than big and back to normal?

I know the ctrl +/- thing but I shouldn't have to do it for every page I visit.

I noticed in my profile page down the bottom where it says "Recent Visits" it just shows the count but not the people that actually visited my profile. Was that taken out on purpose or is this a bug?

I like everything about the new design - great job Jordan 👍 - except for the following:

- The thread headers with the tabs and the blue line. The old one looked better to me. A matter of taste I guess.
- The placing of the username in the posts in the second column rather than above the avatar. This confuses me every time.
- The absence of the GTP_nametag in the first column. The problem is that Fetchbot, who automatically parses the WRS post splits into the leaderboard, stopped working because of this change. I now update that board manually like in the old Luxy days which is ok for now, but after November 2 that might become a slight problem ;)

This is creating the issue for our leaderboard, but I also think it was a very useful feature in the race events forums. It's nice to know the PSN of the person posting, without having to click on their user profile.

There's something to be said for simplicity, but after all, this is a gaming site. :sly:

Sorry I couldn't get the PSN tags back earlier, but they're back now. I'll address everyone else's issues and concerns as soon as I can.
