I reached out to Opel Social Media Team over Instagram and they answered me today with the following:

Screenshot_20220207_125110.jpg

So, @Famine while I assumed your take to say it's via Stellantis or Opel or any manufacturer, to reach out to and ask for information, was correct, if you do so they tell you to contact the game developer. Which I kind of predicted. This might just mean that a social media team simply has no clue, and/or no direct connection to a person holding necessary position within the corporation, sure. But there's also other ways to interpret this answer, is that they might be open for talks if the developer gets in contact, and that the developer simply hasn't done so.

I also wrote to Stellantis, awaiting a response. Might just be the same response entirely though. I'll wait and see.

New theme: Brighton Antiques Specialties

The theme will be purely based on classic vehicles from the pre-war era.

This might just mean that a social media team simply has no clue, and/or no direct connection to a person holding necessary position within the corporation, sure.
Yeah, you'd be lucky if they're even in the same country, never mind the same building. Most brands outsource social media to third parties (who usually employ 18-21 year olds to do it), and there's barely any connection between them and even the PR team.

What you need to do is contact the person at Opel responsible for brand partnerships, or licensing, or the head of PR/Communications. And they will give you an answer that is somewhere between not an answer (the most positive answer they'll give) and "we have no plans to [x] at this time".

In other words, don't bother.

Yeah, probably. While I was really enthusiastic in the past to get information of the kind, to at least understand the process behind licensing between brands and developers, and a hope to be able to drive what I love and know from the real world. I'm not chasing after this so much anymore. In AC with mods, I have all that anyway. Still would love to have it in a GT title aswell.

Despite of it I will continue to try to get in contact with people.

The Tequila Patron sponsor will most likely be censored (as with the sponsor seen on the Ford GT GTLM race car seen in-game).

Gr. 1 definitely needs more representation, by way of more Group C/IMSA GTP, LMP900, pre-hybrid LMP1 and Le Mans Hypercar.

1. Renault Twingo RS 133 Gordini '10:
Proper little hot hatch, 1.6 NA, 131bhp, drives like a go kart, I've had 2 and they're a blast. Tight, responsive handling, instant response from the peppy little engine and smiles for days on any tight twisty road.
Twingo 133.jpg

2. Renault Twingo GT '16:
The 3rd gen Twingo, rear engined, rear drive with a 1l turbocharged 110bhp and a barrel of laughs.
twingo gt.jpg

3. Ford Escort RS Cosworth '92:
It's iconic, as iconic as the Impreza or Lancer and deserves it's place alongside them in Gran Turismo. 2l turbocharged motor with 224bhp and 4 wheel drive.
escort rs.jpg

4. Aston Martin DB7 Vantage GT '02:
With a 5.9l V12 pushing 420bhp, the DB7 harks back to the original Gran Turismo and it's lightweight offering of European motoring. A series classic and a classic in it's own right. GT saw new suspension, gearbox and more power with a modern visual tweak.
2003_astonmartin_db7gt_-5.jpg

5. BMW M140i '17:
Something to rival the Golf R, A45 AMG and one of the few hyper hatchbacks I have experienced personally, a real drivers hatch with oodles of power, 335bhp from a 3l straight 6.
M140i.jpg

6. Lexus LFA '12:
One of the best cars ever made? Quite possibly, the unreal sounding 4.8l naturally aspirated V10 chucks 560bhp out and it's looks are functional beauty.
lexus lfa.jpg

7. Lotus Exige Sport 390 Final Edition '21:
Supercharged 3.5l V6 with almost 400bhp, weighing just over a tonne and with one of the best chassis out there, why wouldn't you want to drive this? The swansong to the brilliant and long lived Exige, in production since 2000.
Exige sport 390.jpg

8. Lotus Elise GT1 '97:
Another GT icon thanks to Gran Turismo 2. The GT1 version of the iconic Elise, the road version featured a 3.5l twin-turbo V8 mated to a 5-speed Renault gearbox making 540bhp. While the race version ended up with a more reliable 6l Chevrolet LT5 V8.
elise gt1.jpg

9. Ferrari F2008 '08:
8 wins, 18 podiums, 8 pole positions and 1 world constructors title. The last Ferrari F1 car to win the constructors F1 championship with Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa at the wheel. The 3rd generation of Ferrari's 2.4l V8 engine pushing nearly 800bhp in all out trim.
F2008.jpg

10. Red Bull RB9 '2013:
One of the most dominant F1 cars in the modern era, arguably THE most dominant in the V8 era, propelling Sebastian Vettel to the last of his 4 consecutive world titles. 13 wins, 24 podiums, 11 poles, from 19 races. Using Renault V8 power, not only was this Red Bulls last constructors title, it was also Renault, and Vettels, last championship as well. It also marked Mark Webbers final F1 season.

All new as in never before seen in the franchise. So that discounts LFA, Elise GT1, DB7 and Escort RS.

Escort RS Cosworth has never been in GT, Elise GT1 has but not in race trim (it does have race mod in GT2 but it's still the road car with the lotus V8 not the Chevy V8). LFA was the Nurburgring package, I want standard, and the DB7 has had enough variants for one of them to be all new so I'll adjust that to appease you to the later 2002 GT model which had a visual overhaul, more power, new suspension and new gearbox.

Actually both LFAs were in GT6 with the stock LFA being the only LFA in GT5.

GT6 just has the Nurburgring package unless the car lists are incorrect.

Was on the GTPlanet list. But thanks for the link anyway.

That is a fantastic list. And that Lotus...such a beautiful machine. With a long history of racing heritage, the recent Final Editions of the Elise and Exige, the cup versions, and the new Emira, I feel Lotus is an absolute must in a game with a large focus on automotive history. I sure hope Lotus and PD can sort out the licensing issues....

That’d be all for now, thanks.

I respect the history, the classic. Because all of the new cars are come from them, and i thought GT7 will get more new and modern cars as I expect and sadly it wasn't. So I better focus on the coming DLC.

I don't think the Mercedes-Benz 220S has ever been in GT. I don't usually care about museum pieces and it's certainly not going to tear up the track, but this car holds some sentimental value for me and would love to see it in the game. (this is the 1959 model)
iu

On the other end of the spectrum, I checked the list and I don't think the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale has ever been in a GT game (or the Tipo 33 racing version either). This was a limited production supercar brought out by Alfa in the late '60s based directly on the racing version. 0-100km/h in under 6 seconds, top speed of 160mph. Looks like a Speed Racer car come to life. What's not to love? (the version in this image is I believe one of the 1967 prototypes, as they had twin headlights). Quite a travesty that this gorgeous car isn't in Gran Turismo yet.
