What all new cars do you want to see in GT7?

I would definitely welcome the Fisker Karma from GT6 - a car I just saw today, funny enough - if it were replaced with the Karma Rainbow, which is the more up-to-date version of what's basically the same car. I think even Pininfarina was working with Karma, too.

EDIT: And given GT's relationship with Toyota, I could totally see the first-generation Mirai being added, too.

Honestly, I want just one car; the MK II Escort RS1800 (preferably with Group IV rally spec)

🥺
😃

Huge Escort fan here. That's a beautiful car mate.
That's not a Mk2 Escort though...

An eagle-eyed member I see :)

You are indeed correct; it's a modern-day build from scratch, rather than a late 70s original :P

I did really like the look of this build though, as it's not too far from the 40+ year old ancestors in terms of appearance, heh

Apologies for straying off-topic with this post. I just really like the car. If I'm not mistaken, the RS1800 hasn't appeared in the GT series as yet at all ☹

.I suppose it's not unlike Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz, where they only have a Gr.1 car through Group C prototypes
Well, we also have the Mercedes Benz CLR and possibly the CLK-LM.

For the first one it is unlikely to be added in GT, mainly because the car was a huge failure to the point where it is not even on display in the Mercedes-Benz museum.

Regarding the Mercedes-Benz CLK-LM, is necesary to keep in mind that between 1996 and 1998, GT1s where the top class at Le Mans among with LMPs, just the same way like the Hypercars and LMDh. Even at Le Mans 1998, GT1s were superior to most LMP1s. Some GT1 cars competed in other classes, for example the Toyota GT-ONE, which was part of the GTP class at Le Mans 1999, and the Panoz GTP, which is a variant of the Esperante GTR-1 that raced as LMP1 at Le Mans 2004.

Other examples include:
  • A Porsche 911 GT1 Evo, a Panoz GTR-1 and a Sintura S99, racing as LMP during 1999 American Le Mans Series
  • A McLaren F1 GTR as LMGTP during 1999 Le Mans Fuji 1000 km
  • A Lotus Elise GT1 as LMP1 at 2004 12 Hours of Sebring (sadly the car wasn't competitive against LMP900 prototypes)
Other additions for the Gr.1 class could be the Ford C100, Lancia LC2, and Lamborghini Countach QVX, all of them from Group C.
MG can also be part of Gr.1 class throgh the MG-Lola EX257 (Gr.1 for the LMP1 regulations and Gr.X for the original LMP675 regulations)

Some weird additions for the Gr.1 class could be the Nasamax DM139 which was one of the first LMP1s that runs on Bio-ethanol and the Courage LC70 YGK from Tokai University which was the first Le Mans LMP1 entry run by an university.

(I think I posted some early shots of this car over a year ago when there it was in camo and wasn't announced yet, so here it is again with actual specs and photos now that they are released.)

Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing - Last ICE car Cadillac will ever make.

I feel like additional F1 cars are unlikely, as well as any DTM cars, due to licensing. That said, I could see the Mercedes-AMG W08 returning, and the three Senna cars returning from GT6 would be ideal as well. But I'd love to see what PD would do to expand Gr.2 with made-for-game racers, just as they did for Gr.3.

I also feel like if a car can use DRS, it'll be going into Gr.X, if only because it may be too hard for PD to balance. Even if a car cannot use DRS, a track-only car doesn't seem to fit the image that the N-Series broadcasts. I think this is why the P1 GTR is in Gr.X, whereas if the regular P1 were added, it'd be in the N-Series. Similarly, I really think it'd be best if the Aston Martin Vulcan were put into Gr.X.

Otherwise, I'd love to see the Hyundai Veloster N, as well as a potential, newer set of racecars to compliment the Genesis Coupe Gr.4 and Genesis Coupe Gr.3. I could definitely see PD modifying the facelifted Veloster for both Gr.4 and Gr.3 to compliment the Genesis Coupe, in that regard.

More cars from the 1970s.

I think some has already posted a 2.7, but it's cars like these, in addition to the 1970s JDM cars we got in past GTs, that open up the vintage racing possibilities.
Fully agree with this, I've been getting into some 1970s race cars in Assetto Corsa and they're just a blast to drive. Another I'd love to see in GT7 would be the '70 Alfa Romeo GTAM - awesome fun in AC. We had the '65 GTA 1600, its homologation model, from GT4 through to GT6, but the GTAM is a whole different beast. 940kg, almost 240hp, so almost double the horsepower of the '65 one, and an absolutely glorious sound...

I have two ideas which are more ease of life things more than anything

1. Make all race cars with different liveries the same model, example:

Honda NSX-GT GT500 (Super GT) ‘20

If you were to choose one of the liveries then in game the name would change:

Honda RAYBRIG NSX-GT (Super GT) ‘20
Honda RED BULL MUGEN NSX-GT (Super GT) ‘20

But when you do a custom livery on your car, the name will revert back to the original.

Idea 2.

Make all imaginary, custom-made Gr.3 and so cars race modified versions of their road car variants

Audi RS5 '18 race modified will become Audi RS5 (Gr.2 Spec)

Yeah, small coupes and sedans are where it's at. ;)

Cool rivalry I'd these ever make it.

I blame the developer being Japanese as the reason they miss so many iconic cars from around the world. For some reason, Britain's car and motorsports history is at least as rich and complex as Japan's, yet most of their icons have been left out for 20+ years now. I wish PD would weight history more heavily and make sure their historical catalogue is full before they start adding modern, boring cars that nobody will use anyway.

Speaking of DPI, I think we've got plenty of evidence suggesting that they don't belong in GR1. Unless we make GR1 a multi-class with two different sets of BOP. PD is absolutely going to have to address this at some point in the future because existing DPI and LMP2 cars, along with the new LMH and LMDH classes run similar speeds and are way slower than even the vintage LMP1 cars.

If we want a realistic BOP for DPI et al, they should be included in GR2. Modern GT500 cars actually run similar speeds as DPI, LMP2, and the newer "top" classes. Realistically, all of these cars should fit into GR2 and have a reasonable BOP.

The other option would be to admit that "GR2" as it is, including only GT500 cars, was a mistake and isn't reflective of actual world series. I'm sure they could make this change to both games without too much trouble but us players would be forced to deal with it. As it is, there are way more cars not included in GR2 than there are actually in it, and all the ones not in it actually make way more sense.

I personally wouldn't be mad if they just slapped LMP2, DPI, LMH, and LMDH all into GR2 along with GT500 and suddenly we get a massive field of cars which might become one of the most popular categories. I've run some experiments on the GT500 cars at Le Mans and while they're not capable of very high speeds they are still rather quick around the track. Skill-wise I'm not capable of running the ~3:30 laps that LMP2 does, but in the low-df setting and only gearing changes the GT500 cars can nearly match the actual LMP2 max speed of ~199 mph. It would be well within the game's BOP abilities to match these categories.

That is unless we make GR1 a true multi-class category. That also makes sense given that it's the essence of Le Mans. Have LMP1 cars go LMP1 speeds while having LMP2 and DPI match up and having LMH/LMDH match up. Three classes in one.
