There is nothing better than warm brownies, fresh out of the oven, with a glass of milk, whilst settling down for the night. :sly:

Tried to cook fried rice for the first time in my life.

I didn't know it could be made badly but I managed.
I've made some today.
There are various methods but here's today's method.

Boil the rice in slightly salted water then cool it with cold water through a seive. There is debate about whether or not to cool the rice, I prefer the cooling option.

While the rice is boiling, mix together:
2 raw eggs.
Small splash of olive oil.
Splash of dark soy sauce.
8-9 small mushrooms, diced.
1 red pepper, chopped.
Pinch of ground ginger.
Pinch of basil.
Ground black pepper, I like a lot.
1 chilli, chopped finely.

Add the rice to everything else, stir until all the rice has passed through the eggy mixture & looks kind of sticky.

Throw the whole lot into a hot wok. No need to use any oil in the pan. At this stage today I added 2 salmon fillets.
Stir it as it fries, I encouraged the salmon to break up during this process.

I ate half & put the rest in the fridge. I'll get a photo...

.... I used an amount of rice that just about filled that mug when raw, the playing card is to show the size of the mug.

Just remembered, I also used a very small amount of onion today too. I wouldn't normally bother with it.

It works well with more than 1 chilli but I ate a lot of, let's just call it "explosive", chilli yesterday.

Had some Haddock Fish sticks with tartar sauce and baked beans for supper.

Parents went to Fargo to get groceries, so I had to rough it out again. I had a lemon pepper tuna sandwich with added jalapeños and it worked quite well :D

Went over to my wife's co-workers house for supper. He mixed up a drink and put it in front of me.

Focusing is a bit difficult right now.

Oh, and I had a gluten free brownie.

Big Booger brought home Taco Bell. He made a run for the border, soon I'll have runs for the toilet.

Another everything bagel for brunch. Yep, jalapeño cream cheese. Is there any other cream cheese to put on a everything bagel? I think not.

Egg in a hole with Turkey bacon. This time I toasted the bread on both sides. So much better than my first attempt.

It's called "bird in a nest" in England, and "toad in the hole" here in the States, which is something different, and better IMO, in England.

Didn't eat anything, so far. But, I did eat some Dorito crumbs and dust left by Little Booger. Does that count as a meal?

Yesterday I braised some root beer beef short ribs, served over mashed potatoes.

Tons left over so had some for lunch today as well.
