Cast iron pancakes!

They must have hurt your teeth.

I had biltong for breakfast. A friend brought some back from his trip home over Christmas and gave me 200g. I was a bit apprehensive at first but it was so good the bag didn’t last long at all.

I will be snowed by by morning and it's going to be a pancake morning :)

Behold... The Spartan Pancakes.

Cheapest mix you can find. Worst skillet/frying pan whatever you can find. Don't grease it AT ALL. Follow the recipe on the box with just the mix and water (usually not a good idea). Add the cheapest peanutbutter and strawberry sauce you can find when finished.

Edit: Good thing I made a double batch. It's already gone and I didn't even get seconds because everyone beat me to it. :irked:

Guess they liked it and it's going into the rotation.

Now to attempt a batch of homemade paneer to make it cheaper...

Kung po pork and noodles. I actually made this myself instead of ordering. It was great.
I spent 20 minutes figuring out what I wanted for Chinese takeout tonight. Turns out they are closed today. :(

Guess I will go grab something else...

Today I made some meatball subs, Downey's salt and vinegar chips (@Joey D another one of Michigans gifts) and had a Henry Weinhard's root beer.
Tonight though, tonight I cook!

We are having a chili cook off at work tomorrow. I am making a smokehouse chili with sous vide cooked sirloin finished on a charcoal grill pouring in cherry wood smoke. Various bell and jalapeno peppers will be roasted at the same time. Toss in various other veggie bits, a bottle of Scotty O'Hotty habenaro hot sauce, and six chili powder... its gonna be good.

My brother brought me a bottle of Aviation on my birthday...it's nice. Did a riff on a gimlet with a good tablespoon of toasted whole coriander seed tossed into the shaker with the gin, lime cordial and ice.
