Seven years!?
I know, right? The patio project is loooong overdue but it's being remedied. Another good weekend and the structure will be done, then wait for the wood to dry out so it can be stained and I'll be back in business.

Bread with chicken curry.

I would have had a hard time not grilling for seven years. During the summer, I will grill up a whole bunch of meats to eat on for a week/two weeks. It makes lunches and dinners easy.

A friend at work gifted this box of Gulab Jamun to me. He bought 120 boxes for a gift to a friends and family because they had twins. He knew these are my favorite Asian sweets and saved me a box.

If you have a need to get diabetes quickly, then eat a lot of these. Sugar overload.

Grilled some fish just for the halibut.

Sorry.

It was trout anyway. Lentil salad with cucumber, sweet onion and yellow pear cherry tomatoes to go with it.

I used the instant kind. Poured 1 can of chicken broth in a cheap pot and brought it to a boil on the grill, then added the grits and removed from heat. Then stirred in some cream cheese and parmesan.

Kept that warm while grilling the shrimp and Andouille sausage then put it all together in my cast iron pan.

Made too much of it so having a rerun of it tonight.

Just takes some tinfoil or cast iron really.

That does sound good.

What are microgreens?
Not to be confused with sprouts, they're greens harvested after the first leaves, the embryonic or cotyledon leaves, have emerged after germination. The plant is considered to have a brighter flavor at this early stage than when mature, and like a head of garlic has roughly the same number of volatile aromatic compounds regardless of size, using more of these young greens in place of less mature greens results in a more flavorful punch.

Baby killers!!!

That said, how are they in nutrients compared to the mature counter parts?

It varies, but the consensus seems to be that many nutrients commonly found in mature greens are found in similar by-volume proportions in their diminutive counterparts. However some nutrients that present in mature plants may be lacking (even when you account for volume differences) and other nutrients that dissipate as the plants grow are obviously more concentrated in the micro variety. It's important to remember that these are specifically young plants and not merely smaller.

I'd say, as always, that it's best to acquire nutrients from a wide variety of sources.

Mango-habanero popcorn (yeah) and a home-fashioned ginger ale with club soda, ginger juice, simple syrup and lime juice. Two-fold sweet heat.

Baby killers!!!
Don't make me feel guilty. :guilty:

I thought about this but got over it and eat these with a lot of taste.

That said, how are they in nutrients compared to the mature counter parts?
Among the 25 microgreens tested, red cabbage, cilantro, garnet amaranth, and green daikon radish had the highest concentrations of vitamin C, carotenoids, vitamin K, and vitamin E, respectively. In general, microgreens contained considerably higher levels of vitamins and carotenoids—about five times greater—than their mature plant counterparts, an indication that microgreens may be worth the trouble of delivering them fresh during their short lives

Oh man, it's almost like eating plant babies and the placenta all in one! Explains why it's so nutrient dense.

Right now, I’m drinking Mountain Dew Berry Monsoon. Never tried it before until now and I really like it! It’s a shame they’re discontinuing it soon, this may be the only time I ever get to drink it. :(
