I finally got around to trying Poutine and Scotch Eggs at the MN State Fair. Both were quite good. I also had a Pronto Pup, popcorn shrimp, mini donuts, some "Australian" potatoes that were very good, some cookies and a few beers.
Those potatoes look pretty good... in fact, your whole post and Corycliffords ribs have sparked a case of the munchies.

It's funny to me as Aussie that they've called them Battered Potatoes when they're called many things here but not that. They're called potato fritters (in S.A.), potato scallops (in N.S.W. & Qld.) and potato cakes (in Victoria) which sparks up as much argument here as the 'is a hotdog a sandwich' thing.

In the end it really doesn't matter what they're called though... as long as you washed 'em down with a few beers (that makes anything Australian 👍)

Pronto Pup
I had to look that up--I expected a cocktail. If I'm honest...I'm kinda disappointed.

:P

For a second there I thought it was bigger, and not realizing it was batter squeeze-out, I thought the top and bottom waffles were each two waffles with something tasty smeared between them. Also, because I thought it was bigger, I was certain I saw a lobster claw on the right hand side and thought, "You madman!"

Aaaaand again, I'm kinda disappointed.

:P

...

Grilled veggie sandwiches; eggplant, zucchini, red bell peppers, carrots and green onions (such color...much yum) on Dave's Killer Good Seed bread, also grilled, with homemade green goddess dressing, fresh tomato and grilled bacon. Seasoned jicama "fries" (they're raw) and watermelon-basil agua fresca to wash it all down.

Yesterday evening I mixed all kind of thing in the blender and made a smoothie. I had to because I bought too much fruit and to bled it before I had to throw everything away.

  • raspberries
  • blueberries
  • dates
  • raisins
  • red and white betties
  • raw baby spinach leaves
  • red grapes
  • pine nuts
  • pumpkin seeds
  • walnuts
  • hempseeds
  • fruit juice

For lunch, probably pumpkin soup or fennel soup, carrot/potato mash (puree) with a lot of small pieces of bacon mixed with the mash/puree.

Chicken fajita wraps with potato wedges and salsa dip.

The chicken strips were more like boulders, almost too big for the wraps to handle.

Love me some Shake Shack cheese fries. Their cheese sauce is sooo delicious, not a fan of their burgers as much though.

Shake Out

Problem solved. Now who here is an entrepreneur?

I never have cared much for spicy foods but lately ice really been enjoying Wendy's Spicy Nuggets. They come with the meal I get and now I'm tempted to just have a lot of nuggets.. they have a 50npieve for 10 dollars. :)

Yes. "Oops".
You should've seen it. I rinsed the ice cream scoop and put it on the counter next to the sink, but I guess when I let go I dragged it a little bit and it ended up falling into the sink. It landed on the tines of a fork sitting in the bottom of the sink basin, which then went flying and knocked a big cutting board over and onto a coffee mug sitting on the countertop that was just recently re-sealed. The mug went sliding along the wall and hit the bottle of booze, knocking it outward and into a spin. The spinning action managed to twist the cap loose and when the bottle finally collided with the bowl, it tipped over. It was amazing.

I spent most of a weekend getting a Rube Goldberg machine set up (twice!) and yours just happens accidentally?!?

As a non drinker. I'm probably the most un-Australian, Australian around.

Also, they are called potato scallops and nothing else. :P:tup:

@Spacegoat... why have I been reading “Scapegoat” for so many years? Did you recently change it?

I’m having my first pizza in a while. I got sick of rice dishes and needed something cheesy. Not sure it’s the best idea to eat a whole one so soon after gut surgery, but oh well.

Round two with the impossible whopper. I'll say this much, cooking time is very important here. This one looked a bit over cooked. It was fairly dry and charred fake meat doesnt taste nearly as nice as charred burger. I definitely suggest getting one when the restaurant is a bit slower than a lunch rush.
