It's the only widely available brand of root beer/sarsaparilla I can find over here but even with a solid recipe it's a bit on the weak side. Virgil's can be found in my local Sainsbury's with an unreasonable markup but that's as good as it gets.

I've had my fair share while in the US and I've been tempted to bring back some of Gene Simmons' stuff with its distinct vanilla aftertaste. Also tried some pretty refreshing birch beer which had the just the right balance of flavours I've been after.
I appreciate the input, but I'm not likely to investigate too deeply. I'll stick to my ginger beer and leave the sarsaparilla for those who like it.

Also--and this is particularly odd with you being from Shropshire--I couldn't not hear Sam Elliott as I read that.

Just had some BBQ chicken and broccoli, with a nice cold glass of cranberry juice not long ago.

Now I'm contemplating finishing off the Haagen-Dazs strawberry...

Smoked...soup?

:odd:

/s

Yep. Made a whole pot about a year ago and froze most of it.

Sliced the onions and smoked them for a while, then threw them in a pot and made the whole thing on the smoker. Except for making the toast and melting the cheese in the air fryer.

I actually found a picture of the cooking process the other day, which reminded me I had some in the freezer.

Certainly different from the traditional kind, but still good.

I'd have expected a broth was made from smoked bones and trimmings, but smoking onions is a neat idea.

I'll clarify that the question was rhetorical and intended as a joke, or more specifically as sarcasm, and I indicated that with the small "/s" (end sarcasm) below the confused smiley.

:)

Pasta with tomato sauce. Baked out onions and garlic with olive oil, added Tomato passato and seasoned it. Made a one pot pasta out of it and added goat feta cheese. Basic but delicous. For a drink I used my last reserve of Oktoberfest Bier. Only ten bottles left....

Had Gyudon for lunch:

Needed a break from turkey, so tonight I made chicken fried steak with Nashville Hot seasoning. Also some spinach/mushroom bread pudding thing my sister made, and some cheesy garlic bread.

Not hard here. Click the "Upload a File" button right to the right of the "Post Reply" button. Pick your picture in your phone or computers normal fashion, once it's done loading, click "Thumbnail" next to the picture to add it to the post. Would be hard pressed to make it much easier on a mobile device.

Dinner was a taco kit on sale half price at the grocery store. (freshly made from the deli dept)

Opted for the chicken over the steak. Very good for what ended up costing just over $1 per taco. (Kit made 6 tacos)

Fixed pork blade steak "cutlets" in a vinegar and sweet pepper sauce and a basmati and wild rice pilaf with wild mushrooms, leeks and toasted hazelnuts, finished with chopped fresh tarragon and lovage.

Presently nursing a Jäger and soda on the rocks.
