I appreciate the input, but I'm not likely to investigate too deeply. I'll stick to my ginger beer and leave the sarsaparilla for those who like it.It's the only widely available brand of root beer/sarsaparilla I can find over here but even with a solid recipe it's a bit on the weak side. Virgil's can be found in my local Sainsbury's with an unreasonable markup but that's as good as it gets.
I've had my fair share while in the US and I've been tempted to bring back some of Gene Simmons' stuff with its distinct vanilla aftertaste. Also tried some pretty refreshing birch beer which had the just the right balance of flavours I've been after.
Also--and this is particularly odd with you being from Shropshire--I couldn't not hear Sam Elliott as I read that.
