How do you make food look so good? I hate food but that looks fabulous.
Half of it is simply the dishes looking nice and being well presented. If they look dull or ordinary I won't even bother taking a photo (even if they're delicious).

The other half may be the fact that I take the photos with a proper full-frame camera and wide apertures, and then apply some quick VSCO presets to it on the go, giving them a more film, vintage look.

I think.

Spent the day working out in Detroit. Afterwards the lot of us headed over to Bucharest Grill (small middle eastern/ American food joint) and got a Reuben kebab. That was some greasy goodness!

Likely the last use of the smoker for the year, so had to make it a good one.

Pulled BBQ chicken with Alabama white BBQ sauce and blue cheese slaw.

Blue cheese slaw... that actually sounds like a second thing blue cheese I might like. Btw, there is never a wrong time of year to grill or smoke some delicious meats. Ok, maybe in a tornado if its bearing down on the house.

Finally had the sandwich all the other yokel millennials have been lining up and yelling about.

It was really good, but I don’t think I’ll be eating it again. If anything, I’ll make my own variant that isn’t 670 calories.

I have some sweet butter pickle juice I’ll use to brine the chicken, then I will do a small grill of the chicken, use seasoned batter it then finish cooking it in oil.

The spicy mayonnaise is simple, just mix cayenne pepper in with a few other spices.

A little stir fry action tonight.

Chicken, peppers, onions, green beans, carrots, water chestnuts, baby corn, some home made sauce, topped with crushed cashews, green onions and toasted sesame seeds on a bed of seasoned riced cauliflower.

Ok, in Italy we usually eat sweets for breakfast, and it isn't really big: a snack, a pie, some biscuits and some milk usually. Lunch, not like in UK, is the biggest meal: pasta. Usually pasta with tomatoes or others vegetables. In the afternoon you can eat everything, nothing is disgusting at that time of the day. Dinner is a bit of a mixture of everything. We usually eat meat, chicken or vegetables. Pretty much like Brunch in UK.

32 ounces of sugar milk in an insulated cup.

Why? Not sure. Just felt like it I guess.

Long day called for a stiff drink. Two ounces of Hennessy, half an ounce of homemade (okay, so not my home) pistachio orgeat and three dashes of Peychaud's bitters stirred with ice and served in a Martini glass with an orange peel and an Amarena cherry.

Just finishing up the last of these while waiting on dinner to finish cooking. My absolute favorite part of the pumpkin, and its gotta be said, pumpkin pie is the best. That's how much I love roasted pumpkin seeds. I'm thinking I may hit up an orchard or patch and see about picking up a few more pumpkins.
My gut is very glad that I get these for only a short bit of one season.

Speaking of dinner...

It's done so I am going to go eat.

I had an amazing egg and veggie sourdough melt. I used a lot of veggies!

I heated the skillet on high, tossed a little butter in, cracked two eggs in it so that they would solidify, then I placed the veggies in and put the eggs on top of them so they could seal to the bottom of the egg and sautéed.

I put it all between sourdough with some butter pickles, some cheddar cheese and let it get crispy using the left over oil in the skillet.

Cutting it open on the cutting board was so beautiful :(:(:(

Sharing a quick chocolate cake-in-a-cup with the family.
A little expensive for a small amount. But the convenience, and the fact that I quite enjoy them... I buy them anyways. And they are just so cute!
