This was actually homemade - a 5 minute batter with flour, chocolate, an egg, etc. ;)
Excuse my ignorance thinking you bought the ready to go ones from the store. :(

I'm eating some roasted chestnuts, nothing too fancy but wow they are good
Were they roasted on an open fire? Tis the season for that ;)

I'm having some strawberry cream oatmeal with three drizzles of honey mixed in.

These were oven-roasted, sadly but they are fantastic on an open fire, it's always a real treat

Working on something in the ol poor man's sous vide machine. Been cooking at 132°f for the last 7 hours or so. Pics of the final product to come soon.

Edit:
Dinner is served...

Chicken, taco seasoning, cheese and tortilla strips.

And still under my calories for the day.

I made shawarma with some left over pita flatbread and grilled chicken. I stuffed it with onions, spinach and carrot strips. I made this amazing onion/garlic Greek yogurt sauce to go with it.

On the side was some batter fries.

I can now roll up into a ball and sleep :P:ill:

Damn, that sounds good. We start Gloomhaven tonight. Maybe I'll get a kebab or shawarma for dinner now...

Didnt get a kebab. Had a brisket sandwich from Capital City BBQ. Man was that really good. Smoked gouda, pickled onions and 2 thick slices of brisket smoked to perfection. Not to mention the mountain of seasoned fries that came with it. Wish I had taken a picture.

...and finish in 3 weeks time...
3 weeks? Probably a year or more. 4 hours and we are still in the first scenario...

Not the thread for it, I know, but Mansions of Madness is well worth a try if you’re into multiplayer, intense board games.

Doing a bit of cooking. This is Red Chilli, Scotch Bonnet & Naga Ghost Chilli hot oil.

we’re having a fuddle (pot luck) at work with India and Pakistan dishes. I’m also making Saag Feta (instead of paneer)

I did not need to see this, now I want some ramen or pho on this cold day.

I would guess based on, what I am pretty sure is, the chashu and boiled egg that it is ramen.
Yeah, definitely not rice noodles either. Fair enough.

Not a bad root beer. Could use a but bbn less ginger and a bit more sarsaparilla, but not bad, especially with a liberal splash of rum. Though, a "dry" bourbon would probably be better.

Edit...
Yeah, sorry, forgot the picture... the rum you see...

Found the last of the smoked French onion soup in the freezer. Just enough for lunch, with Texas toast & melted Jack cheese.

Smoked...soup?

:odd:

I haven't had their root beer (not a fan, if I'm honest), but Bundaberg ginger beer is good stuff.

It's the only widely available brand of root beer/sarsaparilla I can find over here but even with a solid recipe it's a bit on the weak side. Virgil's can be found in my local Sainsbury's with an unreasonable markup but that's as good as it gets.

I've had my fair share while in the US and I've been tempted to bring back some of Gene Simmons' stuff with its distinct vanilla aftertaste. Also tried some pretty refreshing birch beer which had the just the right balance of flavours I've been after.
