Re-read it and understand now. Thought the rest of the post was something separate. My bad.
Can't lie, I made the same mistake until looking up what they were.

I could have worded that in such a way that it was apparent I was describing them rather than listing other things. Apologies.

I suppose I could have just taken a picture, but I don't like sharing pictures of food, even if I appreciate others doing so (weird, I know). I did it once and immediately regretted having done so because that just isn't me.

armadillo eggs
Mmmmm.

I'm taking some mental notes here and some of you guys need to feed me.

Also, @TexRex made me think he was eating actual armadillo eggs and that's a banning.

No, I didn't know whether armadillos lay eggs or not. Do I look like a zoologist to you? :P

Pretty much, but these were obviously cooked longer and had a different cheese filling because it was gooey.

I did once convince someone that armadillos are marsupials and that they do lay eggs. I suppose that's a banning.

Whataburger Patty Melt: their signature item, in my opinion.

(Holding off on the fries, sauce, and drink because ERJ145 seats are tiny.)
I love the Patty Melt, but the Texas toast is a bit much.

If you like bacon try ordering the Sweet and Spicy Bacon burger. Order it with no sweet and spicy sauce, substitute creamy pepper sauce.

What you end up with is a patty melt but on a bun, with double bacon, grilled onions, and the same sauce that comes on the regular patty melt.

I had one the day before yesterday, best Whataburger ever!

I posted about it here.

So they'll customize orders? I'll have to try it next time...hopefully next week. Line at IAH Terminal B was 25 minutes long, so I kept it simple.

Public Service Announcement: do not try to eat a Patty Melt while driving, even if you are in a hurry to get from Mexia to Waco.

I am both thankful and sad that the Whataburger here is just far enough away that I do not make trips to it more often. I am not sure if the patty melt or A1 Thick & Hearty is my favorite. Either one of those with fries and spicy ketchup is my one way trip to a food coma.

Not gonna lie, one of the things I miss most about El Paso is Whataburger. I mean, the food in general there was really good, but what a burger is my second favorite burger joint, not far behind Brays/Bates Burgers. Two different places that make and sell basically the same burger. Real, proper sliders, not those little jobbies that restaurants try to sell, and way, way better than White Castle.
If you are ever in the western areas of Metro Detroit, around Livonia to Dearborn, I highly recommend looking one of them up and picking up a 6 pack of burgers.
Sadly my days of working over there are over as we hired someone to cover that area. I don't really have any reason to go there anymore.

Few things are more satisfying than making buttermilk biscuits from scratch. Cultured butter and a drizzle of honey finish them off.

I haven't been to Whataburger in ages, but I would keep it simple with a WBJr Double. Simple fast food burger with the right proportions.

Had Whataburger last time I was in Texas. I think it was a jalapeno and cheese, but doesn't matter. Everything really is bigger in Texas; I was aghast at how big the burger was, and when the person who took my order pulled out the standard "medium" cup, I actually had to ask them to give me a smaller cup because I did not want that much sugar.

I remember ordering a quad-patty burger at Whataburger having no clue what I was getting myself into. The people at the counter looked at me as if I said some forbidden sequence of words  then the cashier said "You must be really hungry"

I felt like crap for three days after eating that.

According to a food critic for the Houston Chronicle, Whataburger beef patties are five ounces, 25% larger than Quarter Pounder beef patties.

I think someone on here posted this popcorn and I bookmarked it. Finally got around to buying it. You all have good taste

Just got a Shake Shack over here in STL about a year ago and have been wanting to go so bad. Kinda forgot about it though. But now that you have reminded me
The one in CWE? That place always has a line, even with Covid lol

I guess people got sick of Steak N Shake

Yep.

Did some googling earlier and apparently there is one in Ladue too.

Now I'm second guessing which one came first... And how long we've have them

Tonight I had chicken Alfredo from Dominos. Got a garlic dipping sauce cup with it and poured it in the pasta. It was great.

That Might have been me. I mentioned it to @Lain after he showed off his 62 and a half pound haul of white popcorn in the Show Off Your Latest Purchase thread. Black Jewel is the best.
