For dinner I'm having some ground beef, lettuce and tomatoes and some carrots as a side. I have 2 pounds of meat. That should fill me up tonight, I hope.

Why even bother with the vegetables if you're going to eat two 🤬 pounds of ground beef?

Yeah, because I have a limited budget and I try to pick the foods that fills me up the most. Pasta and rice are non-filling foods. Meat, cakes, and Chips/nuts are more filling than vegetables and fruits.

Oreos. Cheap calories.

I eat rice everyday at lunch. It certainly is filling if you eat enough.

Unless you have Prader Willi syndrome. Then you’re screwed.

I'm gonna buy a big pack of Oreos for a snack today then and maybe try some dirty rice and chicken for dinner tonight. Gotta decide something for breakfast.

That's because pasta and rice are essentially just carbs. Your body burns through carbs in no time. To feel full longer, you need to eat protein (but NOT 2,000 calories worth) and fiber. Protein and fiber take your body longer to digest, making you feel fuller longer.

For someone that is so concerned with getting diabetes, you sure don't seem too concerned with getting diabetes.

And that would be the better part of another 2,000 calories. Even worse this time, empty calories.

I may have ended up smashing these Aldi wagyu burgers a little too thinly before I grilled them as they cooked a little quicker than the pack guidelines suggested.

They were like paper thin side on though after I'd had at them with my meat tenderising hammer Meatjolnir.
Never let it be said that UKMikey doesn't know how to beat his meat.

I discovered the error of my ways when I lived in California and bought some burgers from a supermarket, and they were much thinner than you get here. They were much easier to cook, and go nice and brown on the outside whilst cooked throughout, but not overly done - and ever since then, I've squished any burgers I buy in the UK into a much thinner patty and then flash fry them on a high heat, but only for a couple of minutes each side.

I also discovered (thanks to my Persian neighbours) the concept of using pittas instead of rolls to serve burgers/cheeseburgers, and that was a revelation - less bread, more beef...!

Sorry no pics but we had Fajitas.

Instead of wraps I used Greek flatbreads. Had with fresh onion and sweet peppers. Also had salsa and sour cream.

No dessert as was a little full.
