What did you buy today?

Ugh, thanks for the FYI. I thought it was enough to update as needed to keep the game, well, updated. Sure would be nice if a decent high-speed company would provide service here.

Wow. Dead thread. Anyway, plunked a hefty sum on a Lancia Delta S4 Rally Car '85 this morning and subsequently put it on the Nordschleife leaderboard. :sly:

I bought a couple of cars today:
- Toyota MR2 G-Limited, painted it blue
- Toyota AE86 Shuichi Shigeno Version

Did it mainly because it reminded me of the days when I liked Initial D, and having a blue MR2 was one of the things I wanted back when I played GT4.

I bought a Carbon Fiber hood for my Gold Chrome SLR. :sly:

That's disgraceful. The most vulgar colour choice, along with a ghastly bonnet that's the wrong colour.

Back on topic, bought a Jaaaaaaaaaag S-Type R, because I heard the creamily smooth rumble of the engine online and immediately decided that I need one.

Nothing, but a couple of days ago I bought Spa and Kart Space which was the last DLC I was missing and I got a free 125cc Kart. I didn't expect to get a car for free.

140 Km/h in a little chair with wheels is insane speed. That little Kart is really fast.

It was a tough decision, but I bought a Nissan. An R33 GTR, to be exact.

Since I keep my cars virtually stock, it's easy to see how cars compare to each other fairly, so I put it against an R34 in TR Motegi and to my surprise, the cars are just fractions of a second from each other. Never expected it from the ugly R33.

To make matters worse, I got yet another Nissan (what's wrong with me?)

I know got myself a Skyline 350GT Type S.P. It is a nice car, I must say. Nothing beats a 300HP N/A FR car.

R33 ugly? Seriously? Its strange cause I bought it about 3 days ago with my new account and had a moment to reflect. I feel that the R33 is the last "real" GTR ...much in the same way people say the E30 M3 was the last "real" M3 ...and the EK Type R the last "real" Type R.

The R33 looks serious ...no sexy curves and swooping lines here ...its a "man's car" and proudly proclaims it! For me its among the ultimate Q-Cars ...second in my list only to the E34 M5. To me the R34 is too curvy and feminine ...and heavy. The R34 is the best in design as it combines the hard(ish) looks of the R33 with some of the curves of the R34. Still, of the lot I would choose the R33 everyday of the week and twice on the Sunday.

But I can understand that its not everybodies cup of tea. There are people, afterall, who think the E30 M3 and the E34 M5 are ugly. To me they are amongst the pick of the bunch.

On topic: Bought a Ford Mustang V8 GT Coupe Premium '07 yesterday because I wanted to give it yet another chance to change my bad impression of it. I painted it Matt Black, threw on Gold Rims and a Carbon hood and I must say, it looks EPIC! Its amazing how the right look can change your view on a car ...I am actually starting to "get it" now. Still prefer the Camaro though ...

Oh and R33 FTW!!!

An orange, white and blue X2010 to complete my Power Ranger team :dopey:

Erm, sorry to burst your bubble; the E30 was the very first M3 so how could it be the last real one? It's the original, but all the others are just as M3 as that.

Same with the EK, that was the first Type R Civic and obviously people preferred it to the more modern EP3 which IMO is just as good as the original. The FD2 is also great - however its not a hatch...

Anyways just clearing that up - you probably already know this but I don't see how the phrase last "real" made any sense.

Back on Topic now.

I always found the BNR33s to have the best face of the Skylines, however that was compromised by its not so great rear end IMO, the R34 or R35 (GTR) win that one. I just didn't like why the indicator/signal and reverse lights were a horizontal strip, would of looked nicer inside the brake circles IMO.

"Real" as in it expresses the SPIRIT of the thing best. The E30 was a small, lightweight, agile car of a type that the modern counterpart cannot match (it may not be faster but its more of a drivers car). For this reason it expresses the M spirit best. Again, I said in many peoples opinion. This does not mean the others are fake, or bad ...or unreal. The word is used in the sense of "expressing the ideal of the thing". Oh and yes, I know the sequence of E30, E36, E46, E92 ...i have owned every one of their siblings (mostly the diesel versions ...currently the E90 as the code name is different there) but sadly not an M car ....yet anyway ...

IMO, everyone of those M3s have been epic. I have driven everyone of those apart from the E30 M3 - and I don't think there's less spirit in any of them. Even in the E92, the car is just amazing.

Also same to the Civics (everyone apart from the FD2) and I actually like the EP3 the best though the EK9 is just as good.
