The R33 is not a good looking car. Period. That "mans car" thing is not really a valid argument, with all my respect. But they say that beauty is within the eye of the beholder. For example, I love the BMW M5 E60 despite being one of the ugliest cars that BMW has ever produced, and I see beauty in that car that probably no one does.
That doesn't mean I hate the R33. The R33 like any other GTR is a great machine. I personally find the R32 and R34 to be better looking, being the R32 my favorite. Also, I don't see how the R33 could be the last true GTR since the R34 follows the exact same formula. If one could be considered the last GTR, that would be the R34, since the R35 is a completely different car when it comes to engine, technollogy and it doesn't even use a Skyline as its "host" anymore since, as you know, the Skyline brand shifted to the more generic FM plataform.
And I'm sorry, as a big BMW fan I must say that the E30 isn't the last "true" M3. It was the first M3, and although it was a great car, every single M3 after that took the same formula to a higher level, and the one after, and so on.
Even the newest E92 being more civilized and heavier, is still a magnificent machine and kept the spirit and escence of a true sports car during times where other cars turned into automated rolling computers that lost that "driver-machine" connection. Respecting M's motto of having a high rev, naturally aspirated, 100HP per-litre engine and the availability of a manual transmission, I would consider that it is the E92 not only the last true M3, but probably one of the last true M cars and true sport cars of our times.
