What did you do in GT7 today?

I accidentally did Daily Race B.
I don’t have PS+ on this profile but it allowed me to enter anyway, all I wanted to do was see what would happen if I tried haha.
If memory serves, if the main account on a particular PS4/PS5 is a PS+ subscriber, all sub-accounts on that console get the multiplayer benefits of the PS+ subscription.

This will be a slightly detailed post so enjoy the read!

Today in GT7, I acheived my fastest time attack time on the "OLYMPIC time attack race series".
I managed to achieve a 1:17:924, which I thought was pretty good since I'm using a controller.

Check out my Toyota GR010 TIME ATTACK laptime recording off my PS5 here:

Now my slight gripe with this "OLYMPIC" Bop applied time attack event. On a practice run with a tuned TOYOTA GR010 HYBRID (with GAZOO RACING LIVERY), I achieved a time of 1:15:42 which can also be seen here on Youtube:

Watch in 1080p at 60fps for best effect!

Now the car has a tune to about 940bhp which is obviously not as limited in the actual online time trail. I just wanted to see the diffrence it made over the fast bits on the track raceway, compared to the limitations in BOP on the event.

My annoyance is that alot of fast drivers are achieving times like 1min 14 with the 640bhp stock GR010 HYBRID. Can they be making these rapid times with a proper setup and wheel, or they just have the persistance to jab at it for hours on end?
I am choosing not to fork out £900 quid or more for a Logitec/Thrustmaster racing & seat/wheel setup combo at the mo, as it not affordable. But if I did I think I could shave off maybe 2-3 secs off this time realistically.

Would love to hear other member's feedback on how they tacklign this event and their SIM setups!

I wanna keep going and try my best as its a fun event to try and overcome and edge closer to success!

This may fit better in the Time Trial discussion but since you posted here...

You won’t magically lower your time by 2-3 seconds by switching from controller to wheel, absolutely not. Especially not on such a short lap. First of all it takes quite a lot of practice and time to make that transition and the biggest difference between controller and wheel has more to do with consistency and for example tyre wear in races where that’s activated, where wheel users benefit through keeping tyres alive longer than controller users. In a time trial, like this, that’s obviously a non-factor.

The top times are a combination of insane skill along with persistence. Hours on end, for sure.

Bought the XJ220 last week, so I thought I ought to drive it. Um, anyone else a bit underwhelmed? Straight line it's undoubtably fast but it has, let's say, a relaxed attitude to corners. I blamed the Comfort tyres so bought a second one and maxed it. Now it's REALLY quick in a straight line but it's still a bit rubbish to race with. And it sounds like a hoover:lol:

Here is the sollution!!!
Bank Robbery Heist GIF by ADWEEK

Monday I discovered a way to make about 300k in a custom race with Tomahawks that takes roughly 30 minutes, and the best part is that I don't even have to drive, just rubberband my R2 trigger to my controller so it will make my car accelerate on it's own, without even needing steering inputs of any kind.

Not exactly an optimal way of making money, but I'm all about doing it the laziest way as possible so this works just fine for my daily grind.

Since Monday I made enough money to buy the Mk1 Ford GT40, completing the Ford GT menu book and giving me a 5 star roulette ticket, with that I got a Alpine VGT Race Mode which also cleared the Alpine menu book that I also had...

...And from that ticket I got a ****ing Scirrocco 🤦‍♂️

I'll take a break from this to try to beat the new Super Formula races, I had no idea how difficult it was to drive those cars.

Amazing!
As a billionaire, you should be able to buy most of these cars right a way :D

Just did 3 " relaxed" Lemans races, yet i failed as a meteorologist since in two of them i change tyres while didn't needed 🤕
Since i was boring hoped for rain to end early but the dynamic weather wasn't so dynamic today (was boring also ) .

By the way since am done with all invitations except the Bugatti that didn't get yet i have some " spare " for shopping therapy 👀 , did someone from the older players " know " if is worth any of the Miura or the Alfa Zagato ? May i use them later on any mission ? Or save my credits for later ?

Any information will be welcome, Zagato at gt6 was a hell of a joy but at gt7 i don't know .
Another 3 star today, hope to end there for this week .

Edit
Just wondering.......
How the hell " the Billionaire" @Chikane_GTR miss the 2j the Ford iv 67 and the CLK ?!!!!
Perhaps he count his millions and was less than 80 🤭

The iconic Muira can be use in Alsace 1 hour mission but the Mercedes 300 SEL AMG is a much better choice. If you don't collect the cars, I guess you can save your cash.

I was a bit more lucky today in Le Mans as the weather changed while I was in the Porsche curves at the end of the 2 lap. I've pitted for RW and went out 8th. Most of the AI didn't changed their tires... :boggled: and it was more "Holiday on ice" on the Hunaudières for them

On the Plus account, I took the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Gr.4 to Sarthe. It was mostly-dry, and I needed most of the sub-4:19 speed out of the Vantage to win, especially since McEwen managed to make it exactly 3 laps on his first stint. The handling is unremarkable, as is the fuel mileage (about 3.5 laps full-tilt).

May must be 3-star Wheel of Despair month, as for the third day in a row, and for the 43rd time out of 112 workout tickets this year, that's what I got. This time, it was for the lowest-possible 5,000 Cr.

On the GTP account, I shaved about a half-second off the Red Bull online time trial to get back into silver range before it expires. After that, I sent the Honda NSX Gr.B to Sarthe for the cash. I got within 8 seconds (7.890 exactly) of doing an 8-lap race.

The 3-star Wheel of Despair madness continued. Naturally, I got the lowest-possible 5,000 Cr.

Bought a P1 GTR yesterday, tuned it and tried it today. Great car, but I don't like the hybrid battery life traits. Also bought and tuned a Lancia Integrale. Excellent car, even without the swap. At LeMans, only hits 175mph on FM1, but plenty fast enough to win big. Fantastic in the rain, too. I'll get another and save it for the swap. Picked up the AM GT3 '12 and ran LeMans with it. Excellent car. Got 30k from the wheel.

So I managed to grind to my 25 million credit goal over the last couple days, including 12 million credits last night alone (my mileage for the past 24 hours is over 500). I finally put the ‘08 GTR GT500 engine into the 370Z and that is probably my fastest 700pp road car which got me to a potential 8th lap at LM but I waited at the finish for time to expire, which I forgot to do the next time and had to do an 8th lap on barely enough fuel, but it was a guaranteed win no matter how slow I drove. I got a 6-star parts ticket after getting a regular 6-star the day before but it spat out a 3rd ultra high Rpm turbo for the Veyron which I still can’t buy.

Tested a 600pp JDM for Geezers

Ran Geezers and had a absolute blast doing so.

Finished the Alpine extra menu. Gave me a Gr.3 car. I will save it I'll next update and see what.

Yes you're probably right because today, I only won 3.4M (Spa + Le Mans + Sardegna).
I'll need decades to complete this ...:ouch:... collection 🤣
They have lost the meaning of joy to playing a racing game....
I DON'T CARE TO BE A VIRTUAL MILLIONAIRE CAR OWNER...
I WANT TO RACE TUNE AND HAVE FUN WITH CARS!!

Can't agree more with you.
That's probably why I've started to play online since yesterday.
I spent too much time only playing online races on my other account, to the point where the rest of the game seemed pointless.

Since I got VR, I’ve made a point to replay the game entirely and savour it all.

I’ll go back to online racing eventually, but there’s so much to experience and a lot of people in this thread have inspired me to begin collecting. Not just yet, but it’s on the table :P

As for my daily: I improved my Olympic TT by about a second, only a short stint before work but I good one to see what my potential time could be if I decide to focus on it.

This game can be very different , depends on how you want to play: collecting cars, racing online with others, tuning and settings cars, etc. There are many differents games with the same game.
For example, I'm not a fan of "racing under 23:00 on Sardegna" but I do understand that it can be fun for those who try to get the fast car/laps there. And maybe I'll become one of them in few months, who knows :)

About collecting, I will keep on this "mission" but probably with less attention as before (I can't lap just for making virtual money to buy virtual cars). I need more challenges otherwise, I'll go back riding my horses in Red Dead Redemption.

And how much time you can/want to play. With very few time, you would want to optimize your time, and for that the grind races are usefull as they provide you with some credits, that allow you to buy the cars you would want to drive.

I wasn't playing when I said I wanted those 3 Ferrari's.
oh! you got the invite ???

1. Bought the Cobra 427 for Cr 2.500.000 🤩

2. Went to Spa with my Toyota TS030 for 25 easy laps (Cr 1.500.000)

3. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ = Cr. 500.000 (daily marathon) 🥰

4. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ = Porsche 919 Hybrid (ticket from the Shelby collection) - Sold for Cr 2.064.940 🥰

5. This morning, I made Cr. 4.065.940 in 1 hour 🥇 And you, what about your Thursday?

Objectives for this week:

- earn Cr. 22M to complete the Shelby challenge (if the Cobra 427 is available), to receive Le Mans silver trophy (if the Ferrari 330 and the Jaguar XJ13 are available) and to buy the last 4 Japanese cars still missing from my collection.

- get gold on IA-10 driving licence and on Spa track experience with the RSR

I took the Audi DTM 19 to Sardegna. I had a blast in that car. I had issues with snap oversteer coming out of turns in 2nd gear but I started easing upon the throttle to fix that. I also found I could brake a little bit later than my Group C cars. I bought a Cobra from legends and the Shelby GTR from Brand Central to complete the extra menu. Got a Nismo GTR 13 and a P1 GTR from 4 & 6 * tickets. I have a good ticket run lately.

The penalty system is the vaccine. It works different speeds for everyone, but eventually the anger/disappointment/frustration hits.
You're right, it could impact the motivation.
I've noticed a curious behaviour yesterday on my first online race (I had a 0.5sec penalty when a guy "assault" me in the long straight of Spa) but as it's nothing but a game, I take it easy. I've finished 4th and I'm very happy with this :)

Bought the Cobra too
With the 6* from Shelby menu, I've got a nice wheel with a Toyota Hybrid I already have, but I ended up on the Honda 2&4 😐 (worth 1M so not so bad)
Collected my 500k from RBR TT.
Did one Sardegna grind, to get closer again to the Ford GT40 '66 (since I've spent 2.5M on the Cobra to win a 2&4 :ouch: )
Did a few laps on the olympic TT but the car keeps snapping when accelerating and the track limits are annoying, not sure I'll persevere a lot to reach silver.
With my 4* DW I've got an all cash wheel with 1M, 500k, 100k, 30k and 5k, guess what I've got...

The AI is a pain in the butt, and the chase the rabbit races are lame. It is sad to have a game with great qualities and so much big drowbacks.

Last night was another light night. I did a mostly dry LeMans with my 996 GT3 RSR and got a 3* which yielded 5k. I went to go do a WTC 600 race in my favorite 964 RS, but the game froze on the loading screen and I just shut the game off. I have a day off tomorrow, so I might get more done tonight and maybe attempt some replica builds.
