My current standings for my Corvette and the GTWS Manu cup races, pretty decent for GT3, last race to go today wish me luck, here goes Day-tonnaaaaaa! Hopefully, Trumps the beast car, dont enter the race!

Yesterday i raced:

  • F3500-A in a custom race in Suzuka (how i wish to give the oportunity to add Sophy opponents)
  • Porsche Carrera GT in Le Mans with Sophy opponents
  • Audi R8 2007 in Monza with Sophy opponents

And i got a 4* ticket that gave me a Megane safety car.

After grinding to 20mill credits a few days ago, I've been lingering and waiting for the McLaren F1 to appear in the legendary dealership. It appeared today, I purchased it to complete the games most stupid Extra Menu book.

From the 6-star ticket you get from the Extra Menu book I pulled a car that is sometimes voted as the most useless car in the game - the Dodge Tomahawk VGT.

So for over 10 hours grinding just for this one task, I got a McLaren F1 I'll likely never use and a Tomahawk I will absolutely not use.

The whole endeavor highlights another comical wrinkle in the game - used car evaluations. The McLaren F1 is a car that can only be purchased from the Legendary dealership for 20mill credits, which kind of reflects that in real life the only way to get an F1 is through speciality dealers and auctions, but that should mean that it's also the only way to sell them in-game, right? Nope, our only option is the Used Car dealership that low-balls you with 11mill.

This would be comparable to me rolling down to the Barrett Jackson auctions, dropping $20mill on an F1 and then when I'm done with the car pondering "How can I sell it?" and not thinking of going back to auction, but instead deciding that my only option is the used car dealership down town!

The highlight today for me in GT7 was definately doing this F-3500 Monza cup Race, it was very tricky 1st time round, I botched everything. Then a second try and was very smooth minus one botch at lap 8, but it was fine, a solid fun race with balanced AI suprisngly!! ENJOY!

This was a fun experience...

A week or two ago, I went cold turkey on visual aids, turning them all off. I no longer know how many cars are ahead, my lap times, or even the lap number in the current race, let alone the approximate racing line.

Yesterday, this choice hit home hard when driving the weekly on St Croix in the pre-dawn. This is not one of my go-to tracks for some reason, so I had to rely on the cars ahead to guide me. The focus on this meant that my aging brain quickly lost track of the lap number and I had no idea how I was placed.

As the day dawned, and I could see better, I was able to settle into a comfortable rhythm, despite the sun's glare.

Good times!

Quite a bit done today! Here's what I did, in no particular order.

- Got a solid silver time for the online time trial featuring the Porsche 911 GT1 Road Car @ Alsace - Village, though I definitely don't think I can get over a whole second shaved off to get into gold range.

- I also did the newly-added Japanese FF Challenge 450 round at Sardegna Road Track C, using an EK Civic Type R. I only had a ballast and power limiter installed, too, so I was able to get it just barely under 450 PP.

- I also did some qualifying laps for Daily Race A, and got a time that's in the top 3k! Definitely hoping to enter at least one race between today and tomorrow.

- My workout ticket got me a Pagani invite, so I thought I may as well buy a second Huayra since I had won the first one. That way, I can leave one as-stock while modifying the other. I also bought my first Skoda VGT and Pagani Zonda R, as well as a second Toyota C-HR and Mini Cooper S '05. Especially since that last one can now get an engine swap! I also bought the RUF RGT 4.2 since I didn't have one yet anyway.

- I also marked the Group C extra menu as complete, and the six-star ticket got me a second Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. What's crazy is that I had somehow won this car already, but in silver whereas this new one was black, so that's really neat! Not unlike the aforementioned Huayra, I plan to modify one while leaving one as-stock, especially since I had a Stage 5 Weight Reduction kit for it laying around - that alone is worth 500k credits!

Tomorrow, in addition to likely doing some rounds of Daily Race A, I'll see if I can work in some practice laps for the first round of the GTWS Nations Cup Exhibition Series round at Trial Mountain. Seems like the Porsche 911 (991) GT3 RS is the go-to choice!

Bought cars in the LCD and UCD that are under one million credits. Tuned them as normal, but left the standard liveries to see how my custom races would be if GT7 were offline with no use of my Styles.

With my eye on the DB3S (just arrived0 in the Hagerty Collection, and being temporarily short of funds, took my Living Legend for a grind at Sardegna. 15 laps, pit stop every 5 laps.

I'm still driving with no HUD, so I'm mentally keeping track of laps and trying desperately not to lose count. On lap 10, looking around for a fuel gauge, I see that the Living Legend is keeping track of laps for me in the same instrument that records best and last lap time. Also shows my position. WTF! I guess I'm somewhat unobservant!

I'll add a screen shot shortly...

EDIT: This is from a different race, on lap 3 of 4, position 3 of 16

Bought a brand new Z8 as I wanted one on a whim and it's not in the UCD. I then proceeded to give it a sports exhaust and paint it Dakar Yellow. It looks sweet and likes to hang tail, even on Sport Softs.
