What did you notice the most in the demo?

It stutters like hell. It crashed once. It is gt5 with a new GUI at the expense of stutter... And really bad sometimes.

The suspension model can't be judged cause I can change the setup, same as tires.

Replay fidelity is just what they want us to see and prove nothing either. Until I can change setups I won't change my opinion.

Ffb ... Well, still lagging way behind PC sims, to.

I'll wait for the final gt6... On ps4. I think its just money grabber in ps3

The first thing I did notice was the amazing and smart AI, they knew I was a lot faster and right at the start they slowed down their pace to sunday picnic level to avoid any troubles.

Yep. The AI is the biggest improvement in the entire demo!

Strange, so many having stutters, I have been driving hours and hours, no stutter at all, I only use cockpit view, display set at flicker reduction on 32 inch Samsung LCD Full HD, audio set at 5.1 DTS - large theatre with music playing while driving. I have brand new Slim PS3 160GB :D I am posting all times and race with no ABS or other assist, surely a drop in frame rate would mess up my delicate brake modulation and corner entry - it's not that easy to handle high speed entry with GTR or tuned 370Z.

Never crashed either.

Can't change the units from imperial to metric.
I looked at options and couldn't find a way to change it.

Try to change the language to a country with metric system - UK, you may need to change the language under XMB settings :D I tried to change mine to Greek - under demo options, and it changed the units to kmh/metric.

Do you notice frame rate problems in GT5?

I'd have to assume he doesn't since GT5 is a buttery smooth delight compared to this demo...

Like I said before, I can't see PD releasing GT6 with performance like what we see in the demo. They've got serious optimization still to do...

I noticed that they gave more body roll and pitch to GT5 physics. Leaning the Leaf all the way to one side does not diminish it's ability to follow a line through the corner. It felt exactly the same. Thanks, PD, you just proved this is GT5 Spec 3, and not worth spending $70 any time soon. Faster menu time is not enough to make up for what will likely be a complete disregard for customer desires.

You want more A-Spec events? - How about we put the same ones you already have online!
Livery Editor? - Here is a one time use paint chip! Collect them! Look at all my stamps paint chips!
Customization? - You can select one of three wing styles for 1000 cars!
Car variation? - It's the same car with different stickers! Completely different car!
Course creator? - We random design the course for you so you can go back to collecting stamps paint chips, helmets and driving suits!

I noticed PD still has their head in the sand, and we can expect the same from the full version. Want me to see that it is different from GT5? Give something new. This is going to end up being a $70 DLC for GT5.

Another thing worth pointing out is that all of the tracks were deserted, even during the races. Once they hopefully fill those grandstands framerate issues are going to be even worse.
Yeah, that's another thing that really stood out for me - empty grandstands. Can't they just lock it at 30FPS?

Definitely, only a little bit worse looking than GT5...

So yeah.

What changes that are visible in the GT6 demo do you like best? I absolutely love the bodyroll/suspension model. The cars finally feel like they are actually cars! 👍
The menus are also pretty sleek. They look pretty good.

GT6 demo? are you talking about the GT academy? i had a look on ps store and couldnt see any demo.HELP:dopey:

I used the search option in the games section. I just searched for GT and scrolled down a little ways. It is listed as Gt Academy 2013

The only thing positive that I have to say is to mention the body roll. Otherwise, I felt it pretty underwhelming. Nothing really jumped out at me, aside from the dull presentation that plagues PD's products.

I still hate the menu design, too. It still feels like it was meant for clicking around with a mouse. It uses graphic boxes (rectangles decorated with images) for menu items, which adds nothing but screen clutter. If you had an RPG with menu boxes decorated with graphics like a sword, a shield, a flame, and a few people, you would think they are for weapons, armor, magic, and character stats respectively, but in a racing game a similar design with assorted car graphics doesn't do much to indicate, at a glance, what each menu item represents, so the graphics are just there for the sake of having them. I'd just prefer more text and less artwork.

Framerate drops while driving GTR is annoying. In certain area, the framerate drops to around 15fps just with one GTR on track. = =

- Nissan Nissan Nissan Nissan Nissan Nissan Nissan Nissan

You do realize this is a GT Academy demo (which is a Nissan program) and not just an ordinary demo, right?

Either way I'm downloading it right now, can't wait to play it.

How can anybody say that menus are better? They are even worse than GT5's, too many boxes on-screen with tons of useless information. When you go into the car selection menu, you see walls of text and a tiny car on the background. GT5's Premium Dealership is a million times better.

Body Roll! I love it, its one of the things I missed the most in GT5.

EDIT: Also loving the new replay camera angles.

I'm curious as to whether your new Slim has helped with your online lagging issue. Have you tested it out yet online?

I've notice quite alot of not so positive comments, I myself have not downloaded the "Demo" but if that's what it is to PD then I feel sorry for them, I thought a demo was supposed to be a technical showcase something to say look how awesome this is, Not rehash GT5 that still isn't fixed, Cue hostility :)

It's not a GT6 Demo. It's the Nissan GT Academy Demo. Yes GT6 is the engine, but it's a showcase of Nissan cars, some new graphics, physics and a new track, nothing more. If you're looking for a showcase for the entire GT6 game you're going to be disappointed because it's not here, nor is it intended to be. In other words, you don't turn on a hockey game and expect to see bats and balls.

You may find a lot of positive comments either.
Give it a try, Silverstone is a great experience IMO.
Also this 'demo' was built for Nissan GT Academy, it's not, on purpose, a showcase of the game.
The driving feeling is very nice, but again it's probably something personal

Yep, I find it strange as well, at least one person said it was appalling. I too am using a PS3 Slim which is connected to a 40 inch Samsung display and running at 1080p. I normally do not use cockpit view and had experienced no issues. I thought maybe it was cockpit view having to display more data so I ran a bit in that view as well and if I paid very close attention to the stationary objects on the track I think I saw one time where the frame rate may have dropped slightly. It certainly was not a big deal and under normal conditions I would have never even noticed it.

I am thinking either some people are just being critical or they have a system that doesn't perform as well.

I also have not experienced much int he way of lag issues online. Most of my races have been very good and only a couple of times have I had a person in my lobby with lag issues and that was surely their connection as they were the only one with an issue.

I generally host the lobby myself and have a 20mb connection and mostly race with a few friends who also have a 10mb or better connection. Smooth as silk for us. Better than Forza in that respect.
