What do you miss the most?

Now I have the money to blow on games, I miss having time to play games :(
and having all my school friends still in the neighbourhood, hanging out in the street, popping wheelies on our bikes. Summer holidays!

Because nowadays it's just a freakshow competition to see what car can go fastest. Back then it was experimental.

And back then it wasn't just a competition to see who was the fastest? Of course it was. Those cars weren't designed for any other purpose. The benchmark has simply increased. The RUF CTR knocked it first, followed by the F40 and slowly, as other cars matched and beat it, the benchmark has changed.

Arguably, 250mph is the new mark.

I miss being young the most. Primary/Secondary school. I mean, I'm only in the first year of college and I already miss secondary.

The Porsche 959 was one of the most technologically advanced cars (and it was fast) for its time, and still rivals cars technology today. I'm sure the technology was just put in the car for competition purposes, no? The 959 was able to reach high speeds of around 200 mph and yet that wasn't it's only purpose.

250 mph is "nothing", nowadays. There are ton's of cars that have broken that barrier; yet none are produced because of the fact that they were made just to break some type of speed record, which annoys me.

100 miles an hour is fast alone. Better yet 250+.

There's tons of cars that have broken 250? I'm sure there's the Bugatti. And? Maybe one other.

There are only 4-5 cars currently in production that can reach 250mph. At a push, 10-12 cars that have ever reached it isn't 'tons'.

The Bugatti Veyron has carpets, radio, air conditioning and so on. But it goes above 250mph. What was your point about that? The Ferrari F40, Jaguar XJ220 and McLaren F1 were designed purely to claim that record too.

Times change. Somebody who grew up in the 60s would complain that cars go past 150mph too easily.

Cocaine. I really miss cocaine.

I have a daughter now so I can't:
Take the risks involved in doing it
Do all the stupid stuff I would do when doing it
Deal with a 1 year old on a come down

I also miss working in the games industry. Kinda.

I miss my first car...(of which I only had for four months, until it was sold for parts by my parents), my childhood cartoons of the late 90s early 2000s, my old parakeets, the days when kids weren't so obsessed with technology, and finally the days of video games that were truly fun. :/ (I may be only 18, but I feel old in the current generation of gaming kids. Grew up around things like the original Mario Kart, Goldeneye, Rampage, etc)

I miss having a mental clarity, motivation and enthusiasm, I think I burned it all out of me with whiskey. I also miss my ex, she was perfect in ways I don't have the words to explain.

I also miss food that had salt, fat, added preservatives and artificial colours.

You can never go fast enough.. The race to 200MPH started in the late 80's.. With the 959 and the F40. Then followed by the EB110, the XJ220, and the F1..

There are machines out there that can exceed 260MPH.. Times have moved..

No...They had cars in the 60s coing that. Road cars.

I'm with you on this one. RUF CTR was the first production car to hit 200, as far as I know. 1987.

According to Autotrader, it's the F40.

It was the first production car to crack 200mph which quickly made people forget it still shared plenty of components with the 1984 288 GTO.

The Dodge Charger Daytona did hit 200mph, which was a 1960s car, but I'm fairly certain that was only in NASCAR trim and not as standard.

Hmm. I know the CTR was around the same era as the F40. Definitely hit 200mph onwards to a top speed of 211mph in 1987. Maybe it was the fastest in the world upon release. F40 was 201, I think.

The Daytona was the first car in Nascar to reach 200mph on the track, so it would never hit it on the streets. 👍

Actually, in the late 80's and early 90's, there were NES and SNES games that were hitting 60 quid here from some mature gamers musings on another forum I frequent!

In the 90's I remember going into Game on my birthday and dropping £50 on MKIII for Megadrive, fifty bloody quid for a Megadrive game! I do love the Mortal Kombat series, though.

My mind, before drugs.

Seconded.

The grind my gears thread!

Perfect time for me to say "I knew that was going to happen". Mwahahaha

Cocaine. I really miss cocaine.

I was never much into coke but from time to time I miss chuffing away on a nice bit of green. China doesn't really have the scope for it, it's all Ketamine here which just makes me fall asleep.

If you've never been part of a drug culture then it's hard to understand.

The memories I have of summers by a fishing lake, relaxing with some smoke and talking crap about random stuff with my buddies, the ritual of rolling and the rights of who gets what.

Other memories of being on holiday with my ex-partner and getting so high that we spent the whole night staring into the sky talking about the cosmos while on a camp site in the country side.

Memories of asking the regular Pizza Hut delivery guy to pick us up some skins from the shop on his way over so we didn't have to go outside, and we could tip him with a joint.

The feeling that the substance gives, the escape from reality, the elevation of stress and a whole host of other reason.

I'm not preaching drugs to people, I would actively discourage anyone from doing such things, they aren't good for people but if anyone reading this has been in my position, as ScouserInExile clearly has, then it will make sense to them.

It's about occasion.

And remember kids, drugs are bad. Really, they are.

My mind, before drugs.

18 year old me never thought I'd agree with this, but 26 year old me agrees. I had a lot of fun trying to smoke myself into space, but I also wasted a lot of time.

I'd say I miss living in the time when drugs didn't have such an impact on my everyday life. Addictive personality FTL

1. My wife - she is back home in Canada while I'm working here in China
2. The $10,000,000 that isn't in my bank account

This is what I was thinking of. I for some reason thought its Superbird counter part did it an I knew it didn't. Not enough power. Oh well. If only the cobra went 50mph more lol
