What do you think is the best front-wheel-drive sedan in the world.

It only does 0-60 in 8.4 which is getting into economy car times. It might have good steering geometrics and a nice chassis feel, but its lateral grip is a pathetic 0.86

This is from a 1998 SVT Contour road test, and I dont care if they've upgraded them since then. But I really think that a Maxima or a TL Type-S would totally blow away the pathetic Contour SVT anyday on a track, dragstrip or as a daily driver.

And dont start about Mondeo race cars. Does the success of the Hyundai Rally car mean Hyundai's are good in any way?

Yes but they are made different becasue of what each region wants. For example ford of america wanted a crappy car, wheras ford of europe wanted a good one.

And saying that fords race cars dont have any impact on their roadcar lineup is also wrong. If ford didnt do rally or touring cars, we would have missed out on all the RS and cosworth models in the 80`s and 90`s. A modern example of this is the focus RS which probably wouldnt have been made if the Focus wasnt competing in the WRC. Its called homologation, I think. Also I love the way you picked hyundai, out of all the manufacturers the one that didnt homologate their WRC car. For gods sake even skoda made an octavia rs.

Zero the 3.2 TL-S is a sedan...

This means that the Maxima is like 2nd fastest, and the Millenia and 6 are like 10th fastest or so...

Well me too, ofcourse.

My dad's tempted to sell the Probe, RX, and 323 for one. Wouldn't that be cool? Naa, it'll never happen. :)

my god they rock!!!

Not a sedan....

The Mazda 6 is good, but a new Altima 3.5S will whip the hell outta it.

Mazkid- I know the TL is a sedan its the old Vigor.

I'd love a new Maxima 255hp or any 230-260hp sedan, only if they put the CL Type S engine in my car:fdevil:

Honda Integra Type-R.

and yes, it came as a sedan. a lightweight, FWD sedan that could beat an FD RX7 around Tsukuba (racetrack in Japan)

stupid, biased people need not to reply.

i'm looking for them as we speak... it was pretty rare, sold in Japan only, for maybe 2 years.

well the only ones i've found as of now are these, of a modified (riced out?) one...

not exactly what i was looking for, but it seems the pic i'm looking for isn't to be found anywhere nowadays...

I wish this car could be GT4!!!

:D Gotta have sweet, gotta have a Type-R :D

In fact, aside of the Alfa Romeo 156 GTA, I still prefer the Honda Accord Type-R (a Europe exclusive).

i'd have a tough time choosing between an ATR and a 156 GTA... real tough time

funy i have a video of a CIVIC with a GSR engine getting wooped by an SVT Contour,
all that gay "weee" "weee" sound the civic made while the SVT just took-off...
oh and the new piece of **** civic SI got OUTPERFORMED by another SVT.... the Focus
dont tell me they suck at performance cuz ther drivers must have SUCKED, and besides the Contour can hang with the best of them, blame Ford for not making the Original plan which was an:
all wheel drive
supercharged
parts from the europe mondeo
super sedan...
cars that come out here from ford that were succecful in europe have been "neutered"
the svt focus WAS suppose to have:
Turbo
all wheel drive/
or
LSD
but once again ford JIPPED us

1mic: Ok, what you mean is either the Euro-Ford Mondeo ST220 or Aussie-Ford Falcon XR8.

Now where exactly did you get the idea that they would make a supercharged AWD Mondeo. That sounds highly ridiculous.
