What do you think is the best front-wheel-drive sedan in the world.

Yeah I've seen it, its a Proton Wira w/ a body kit. BTW we are talkin about FWD sedans not 3-door hatches. But I'll consider the new car from Malaysia called Proton Waja

Ford Mondeo/Contour(any) 😈

(Mk3 Mondeo recently beat a Rwd BMW with similar engine at a race track by 2 seconds) 😈

Vauxhall Vectras suck goat intestines.

Hard!

Or the Mazda 6 MPS concept car.

Both models are AWD. :)

I vote for Focus RS. Sure, it torque-steers on bad cambers, but it's blistering on a track.

Well I'm staying with the GTP and the SSE but I also forgot the Ford Taraus SHO. Seesshhh!!

Here's the rules:
-FWD
-Sedan
-exists or has been existed on the common street.
-Stock
-No price range
-and thats about it

Contours blow, they are underpowered peices of garnage. I especially hate people who think Contours are hot just because they made a ***** 195hp SVT version. Give me a break, most 4 door cars on the road have atleast 195hp! They also apparently have good handling, but that isnt true. Apparently it understeers like a *****, I have seen videos of them on race tracks.

Well that counts out the Focus RS then, because its a 2-door.

Hah Contours suck do they, shame the ford Mondeo (which is the euro contour) doesnt we get the ST24, or the newer S220 (which is veeeeery nice) and they handle well. They wouldnt have dominated the BTCC in the last year that they had 4-door sedans, if they didnt handle well.

Ask TVRKing about how good the Mondeo is, well he drives a 1.8 one so :D

Ya. Very chuckable, and no understeer al all.

And it's a Mk1.

The MK2 is better,

and the Mk3 owns BMW's for handling.

Hard!

The MK1 mondeo looks very scrawny in comparison, even to the MK2. The MK3 ST220 is just reeking of total awesomeness, let me guess its got 220bhp?

Did you know that in the Contour's class (small sedan) that year, the SVT version was the only sedan to have over 180 horsepower?

Id like anyone to show me a front engined front wheel drive car that has over 250bhp and doesnt understeer.

Im sure there must be some american ones, acura maybe?

Bugger, there was a european example that comes to mind but its on the tip of my tounge.

my bro has an article showing the mondeo winning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for more than 3 differnent races in a single season...

Not to shabby, 3.2L V-6s from 240hp(Legend Type 2) to the 250hp Alfa to the 260hp CL Type S, heh most of the most powerful (non-Cadillac) FF sedans are Honda/Acura's :D

edit: CL isnt a sedan, I'm a :dunce: But it still has a powerful engine so whatever :P

Well even though everyone knows that the difference between Ford Euro and Ford USA are like night and day; That shouldnt make much difference in the actual car other than quality etc. But I have certainly heard more bad than good about the SVT Contour. It only does 0-60 in 8.4 which is getting into economy car times. It might have good steering geometrics and a nice chassis feel, but its lateral grip is a pathetic 0.86

This is from a 1998 SVT Contour road test, and I dont care if they've upgraded them since then. But I really think that a Maxima or a TL Type-S would totally blow away the pathetic Contour SVT anyday on a track, dragstrip or as a daily driver.

And dont start about Mondeo race cars. Does the success of the Hyundai Rally car mean Hyundai's are good in any way?
