What Does the Gran Turismo Logo mean?

Got Callaway and Team Oreca and cars of teams that I must find the names of.

:cheers::gtpflag:

Are you referring to the Gran Turismo title? I did a quick search and I found a few other cars that used the same colors in the cars paints scheme. I'll post them in a moment.

I'm referring to this assertion: "Gran Turismo is actually red, white, blue and its the french flag"

Do you have something from PD or Kaz that says, "We chose the colours of the GT logo based on the French Flag and the original LeMans colours" or something to that effect? I mean it sounds great in theory but is there an actual direct link or are you just speculating?

The colors of the french flag has nothing to do with Gran Turismo now, it has to do with racing, automobiles in general. No need to read in it to much dealing with flags of states. Gran Turismo is about racing, automobiles correct?

If you race, some people use the game for "other reasons"

Reading into what?

Zuel: TheNxtGenGT Gran Turismo is actually red, white, blue and its the french flag. The colors were used in the first 24 hours of Le Mans and all the cars had the colors painted on the cars in a vertical line some where on the car

Are you or are you not suggesting that the GT logo colours were chosen for this specific reason because it's pretty clear you are. If you're not no problem, but your post suggested otherwise.

It means um, um...yeah I give up.

The blue curve looks like a street, the other blue looks like the polyphony digital logo, and the red looks like a piece of a checkered flag idk

:scared: It was chosen because of RACING, AUTOMOBILES, even though the colors are part of the history of the 24hr of Le Mans and it's the same color of the French flag which the 24hr is held each year it has nothing to do with the French flag. It's for the history of racing the history of the automobile. If you look at history you'll notice that others used the same colors in honor of the 24hr of Le Mans, are you going to read into why they decided to use those colors as well?

He is right though Zuel. You are assuming the reason those colours on the logo were chosen is because of the Le Mans race. There is no evidence that supports that argument yet. At the moment, it's nothing more than a mere coincidence.

Although perhaps next time Jordan has a chance to interview Kazunori, Jordan could be kind enough to ask Kazunori why those colours and that logo design was chosen.

And I bet it's an interesting story too!!:)

He may have already done that. I do remember something about the cat. I'm not going to bother to look it up at the moment because I'm going to watch a movie with my son.

Blue and Red are the national racing colours of France and Italy, respectively.

They probably picked those colours simply because they looked nice though.

I cannot believe anyone could possibly be serious about this..

I really am speechless, no offense but it doesn't take rocket science to figure that one out.

Lol.. This thread. GT = Gran Turismo which translates to Grand Tourer. The game is based loosely on this class of car. Thats why there is a limited selection of open wheel. Over the years the game has evolved to include more cars that don't fall into the Grand Tourer category.

If the colors are to look into... Red, White, Blue...

*Conspiracy theorist mode*

All are colors from the flags from the greatest car-manufacturing nations in the world:

All:

U.K.
USA
France
Australia
Korea

Two:

Japan
Italy
Mexico

One:

Germany
Sweden
Spain
China

Now, the 3rd letter of the first word "Gran" is "a", and the 3rd letter of the word "Turismo" is "r" - both are letters in the word "car". 3rd letter of the alphabet is "c", and in alphabetical put in alphabetical order - Alphabet, Gran, Turismo, the 3rd letters would spell car.

So the game is about cars from major nations.
