::Update::

Now that GT6 is out, the facts are known, game in our out of our possession depending on preference. How do you, the GT Fan/GTPlanet member feel now that GT6 has been released?

For the owner, are you satisfied with the improvements? For the one in waiting, what keeps you from picking up a copy? Are you waiting on an update? Or updated features?

Or perhaps your attention has shifted elsewhere? PS4 and Project CarS or Drive Club perhaps? XBox One & FM5?

I'm curious to know GTPlanet!

::embarrassed:riginal Post::

I'm a GT fan, and have been since day one. I've purchased every GT game, some twice and even GT5's Collector's and XL Edition's. But like some people here, I have felt PD has fell behind the times with select features in GT5.

So I'm wondering "what will be your inclination in purchasing GT6 this time around?" What will be your driving force in making your decision in giving Sony/PD your cash? Will you just throw your money @ them regardless of whatever they dish out? Or is your purchase banking on something specific that could make or break the decision?

What's your take on your decision to make a GT6 purchase?

If it had a livery editor (even a basic one), many new car manufacturers, many classic tracks returning and a much-improved online mode, then I'd easily buy it day one.

I think, though, that we'll see another GT game that will only slowly evolve and mature. Thus, encouraging gamers to be very patient, to download many updates and to purchase consistent DLC.

Gran Turismo 6 will very possibly be the first GT game I buy used. Ever.

You can vote for multiple choices: I chose vinyl/livery editor + tracks + sound.

Sounds and customization options (livery editor and bodykits and such) are the most important for me from the poll.
Then you have the A-spec part... Fix that! Make it longer, more challenging and more varied.

But of course, more tracks (new and classic), tuning options and improved online would be nice.

I checked options 2,3,4,5 but the most important things for me were not there. Leaderboards and more online racing options. These are by far the most important additions that should be made IMO.

That said I have already saw enough to get me to buy it and can only hope that some of the things I want will be there when it is released. Even if not I am sure I will still enjoy the game.

I would've checked all the boxes but it wouldn't make much difference to the poll, it's mostly even right now. I did tick the last box though. I wouldn't go as far as to say that I'm a fanboy (I like GT5 as much as the next guy but I'm not going to pretend that it's the best game out there) but I'm going to buy GT6 regardless of what features do or don't make it in. At the end of the day it can only be better than GT5 and I won't be buying a PS4 until the prices come down, so I'm all for anything that can extend the life of my PS3.

I would have to say that the fact that it's being released on the PS3 is one of the main reasons for me buying GT6 and not Forza 5, as it means to me that I don't have to buy a new console and a compatible wheel just to play Forza 5 (my current wheel is a Fanatec GT3 RS V2 which is PC/PS3 only).

Livery Editor. As far as I'm concerned, if it doesn't have that then other features won't be properly developed either. That isn't to say tracks and sound aren't important - I expect a PS3 experience from a PS3 game, not tracks copied from the PS2 and sounds from the PS1.

Why does one have to be a "self-admitted fanboy" just because one will buy GT6 regardless? Kind of insulting, IMO.

Anyway, the main factor for my purchase of GT6 is simply because it is available on PS3.

I chose the last option because I couldn't choose all of the above. I am fan of the series but not a fanboy. Also my five year old is excited about it so that will also be an influence to buy it as well.

So, yeah. This is my 1st pole... Can someone tell me how to edit the pole and add other features/options?

You can't. Only a moderator can edit polls after they are up. PM one of them to ask and they will likely do it for you, though.

A-spec. If the single player sucks as badly as GT5 did on release, there's no chance of me buying it before it hits the bargain bin.

...So I'm wondering "what will be your inclination in purchasing GT6 this time around?"...
This time around? You're from another dimension and this is your second time buying it? :sly: Sorry, couldn't resist.

I like the photo travel/mode options, but I also like the suspension model shown, along with better lighting. These things set the game apart from previous numbers in the series.

I am also quite happy about the monthly DLC too, as GT5 never really continued with that direction and I think that is a shame.

My decision to buy GT6 will be based on user reviews, gamereviews, price of the game and most important: it should be far better than GT5.

If I get feeling it's GT5.5, not GT6 I leave it in shelf till price drops under 15 euros.

Lol, you know what I meant...👍

I'm always baffled by people who look forward to planned DLC. And the fact that it's being planned on being drip fed monthly well before the game's release just smells like a scheme to me.

I mean, I'm certain it takes more than a month to create DLC which means they are preparing in advanced DLC to be released before the game has even gone gold. Which feels ridiculous to me.

I guess it all depends on the amount of new features included in GT6 out of the box, but to flat out state the inclusion of monthly DLC before the games dropped is blatantly telling me that the unfinished nature of GT6 this time around will be intentional, and for the cost of a dollar. I mean, this generation of gaming is killin' me with all it's nickel & diming. It makes me feel like waiting for the Complete/Final/Master edition, and just saying "f' it" for the release.

So basically what you're saying is that DLC is a way to rip off consumers. That's a rather ignorant point of view. The cost for developing games increases exponentially for each new generation, but meanwhile the retail price of the games has not had the same development. To release additional DLC is simply a way to profit on the games they're making. Without profit there's no business.

The other option would be to sell the game at a much higher price, but would people be prepared to pay that kind of money for a game?

You also have the subscription option, where you have to pay a monthly fee to play a game.

Out of these options I find DLC to be the best, because it's optional, it adds content to the game and each transaction is so small that it's easily affordable. Just compare with other things you spend money on each month...

When it comes to development of DLC, why would they have to start making the DLC when the game is shipped? If it takes 2 month for one team to make one batch of DLC, why not start one month before the game is released so that the DLC is ready one month after the release? With two teams making DLC they could easily release new DLC each month, and none of it would be content that had been withheld from the original release.

Time to take off the tin-foil hats and look at DLC from a realistic point of view.

I'll be buying GT6 so I can hoon about on the new tracks, even if it is only 7 new locations. Silverstone has my particular interest.

I voted for livery and tuning it really confused me as to why they never had in depth tuning (it is supposed to be a sim...)
