I don't believe it was changed, but if it was then they took great care in making sure it still has the Oblivion Jank™ that gave the original its charm. I've certainly seen some of the questionable pathfinding and wacky item physics that I remembered from way back in 2006.I understand that the visuals have been remade in UE5. Is the base gameplay engine still Creation?
Admittedly I was worried at first and thought "oh no, this looks a little too good", but then I got into the Imperial City, saw that the NPC's all have Jim Carrey-ish rubber faces and the added lip syncing is just off enough to greatly exaggerate that, and was quite satisfied that it's still very much Oblivion.Its UE5 on top of the Creation engine. Impressively they retextured everything and likely uses Lumen GI, with two graphic modes on Series X. It looks modern but feels classic.
Never got into the orignal. But I’m loving the remaster.Well it had to be done.
