I've probably said this before, but here goes: "news" programs. At what point in your life would you think that planking belongs in the same space as K2 being declared dangerous and could be illegalized? :ouch:

What exactly is K2?

On Canada AM (popular early morning "news" program, planking was talked about immediately after the Nuclear Disaster in Japan. :scared:.

In the thing about planking they talked about how someone tried planking on their 6th story apartment balcony railing. The person fell off and died.

What is with people's stupidity? It seems that humans are progressively becoming stupider. Stupidity is a gear grinder.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet and I know many of you will blast me for saying this but....

What grinds my gears?............. Pony pics in the "Is genuinely funny except for all the pony picks in it: Return of the laugh as soon as all the pony pics stop being posted" thread.

It might just be because I'm missing something but I really don't see the 'funny' in them. The tables are cool though.

I have the answer:

Unbelievably slow people on the left lanes at the freeway. It's a 75 zone... NOT a 50 zone.

^This
Also, even in a 55 zone, there's no reason the people doing 55 can't stick to the right to let the faster drivers pass.
"It's common courtesy!" - Skeletor
And that end part was a robot chicken joke in case you didn't get it.

As a perfectionist, I can't stand spelling errors, especially if they're in my own posts.

So finding spelling errors in certain posts that I made irks me. Just now I found a mistake in one of my posts, and I swear there weren't any errors when I originally made the post. What gives?

Skython, if one of my teachers did that, I'd unleash my large vocabulary of obscenities and direct them at him. My one teacher stole a car drawing I made, -I am really passionate about car drawing and this was my best work I ever did, and ever will have created.-, I kind of let her have it. I said things, mean things. When I'm drawing cars, for me it is like all my problems just float away. And when someone disrespect's your work... Its like a punch in the face. And when you get punched in the face, you fight. Teachers that don't know anything about you and mess with you, don't just grind my gears, they split them in half.

Exactly, but I seem to just turn away and rage, I can't hit people unless I am joking.

Stupidity is a problem, there's so many imbeciles at my school doing that Planking, in really stupid places, and all the teachers are allowed to do is shout at them, which doesn't do much because idiots don't understand English.

(Yay, I learnt how to quote two posts, I'm so proud of myself, I didn't even have a how to)

Physics is fantastic.. it makes everything in the world work! My biggest regret from college days is not studying Physics harder (actually did no revision at all..) and getting a better grade.. got a C, with work could possibly have got an A.

I'm considering trying to retake on a night course...

The problem with physics (and math in general) is memory work... too much to memorize! My short-term memory (or rather, lack of) grinds my gears. I remember in Grade 11 university-prep physics (the last year I took a science course of any type), I'd get 50s on all the tests but 90s on all the labs when I actually had time to properly work out and think about stuff. The end mark balanced out at a 76, and I figured that was a good time to bow out of that stream of study...

K2 is basically artificial marijuana that you can buy in stores. The problem people had with it was because the effects were stronger than what real marijuana had.

I heard about that story as well. The railing was 2 inches wide, apparently.

Planking is becoming big again because some rugby player did it during a match and then went on to talk about it on popular radio stations. But it is essentially the Lying Down Game, only that the bogan Australians couldn't bear to think that they were copying something that was popular five years ago, and so renamed it and claimed it as their own.

Californian shuffle. Nothing against Californians, it's just that your shuffling is a bad rip-off of the melbourne shuffle. No hard feelings.

I don't know if anyone else here experiences this problem but here goes;

What grinds my gears?......

When leaving my office for lunch I board the life (elevator) and ride down to the bottom. Upon arrival at the ground floor a mob of waiting people flood into the lift while everyone else is getting out causing pushing and shoving to occur.

Maybe it's just the Chinese that don't understand this, but if a group of people are in the lift and attempting to exit, what makes it seem possible to get in before the previous occupants have exited?

It's senseless, rude and above all it's showing how little common sense these people have.

Now, I seem like the rude person because I stand in the middle of the door way refusing to move unless they part their mob and let me through without squeezing through a small gap. I refuse to budge as much as they advance and then they look at me as if I'm trying to cause offence to them when in reality I'm just trying to make them understand that unless I come out for the lift, they're not going in.

This happens to me everyday and I've got to the point where I've started using profanities towards these ignorant people and growl at them to show my anger.

That **** really grinds my monkey flipping gears. I'm growling as I type at the thought of it.

You know what really grinds my gears?

UK car insurance prices, I got quoted less than 3months ago £650 fully comp on my Alfa 156 TS, now, its floating the best part of £1100!!! its disgusting and completely unjustifiable.

I'm 24 and have 4 years NCB, no accidents, claims or ccj's.

Grrrr!

Radio stations grind my gears. When I turn on my radio, I want to hear MUSIC, not high school baseball (with the world's most boring announcer), a "most popular songs" countdown, or a rerun about a book about making more money. I also don't want to hear you talk for five minutes between songs about a band's story or how someone's life was changed by your music. I don't want to hear the silly DJ's "betime stories" (this is not a little kid's station by any stretch of the imagination) or her Lady GaGa impression. Is it really that hard? People want more MUSIC, not more idle talk! M-U-S-I-C!

Same here, we have 40 minutes of music followed by 20 minutes of commercials- Every HOUR.

To both above me:

1) Get portable audio player.
2) ???
3) PROFIT.

That's what I did, and now I don't have to worry about commercials or having music I don't want.

Which brings it smoothly to MTV, do people today actually know what the M stands for?
Don't know what went wrong there.

Anyone can be that stupid. I see this happen the most with teens riding on the underground train...It's mainly the Frequent Rush Hour adults that know how to step off the train for people behind them to exit and then they get back on afterwards... but for the most part, the people waiting to get on don't speed it up if they don't clear way for those trying to get off, since everyone only thinks for themselves and wants to insure they will be able to get on this train because they don't want to wait another 2 minutes.

@Racedude: I've went through 6 mp3 players in 2 years, not wasting my money again. I use my laptop for music, but at times where I don't have my laptop with me, I have the radio to listen to. @poolhaas, the M stands for Mute the volume please!

Did you destroy them? I've had the same one for 3 years without a problem. That and my PSP do the job. The only thing I have broke were the earphones, but those are easy to replace.

No, they all just quit working or had 'system file error' problems which couldn't be fixed.

Bad luck, I guess? :indiff:

Anyways, people that thinks that people making mistakes and/or hurting themselves makes them dumb and that they deserve to be made fun of grinds my gears.
I believe it's just wrong to treat people like that.

Interesting, the station I'm talking about also advertises "40 minutes commercial free" every hour. They spread the commercials out a little more though.

Yes...maybe people should learn how Nurburgring does it!!

Whenever my parents are always there just watching the news while I'm using the PC. Got no privacy.

I need more 🤬 privacy.

Jesus Christ I can't take it anymore.

When you have important stuff to do and you suddenly feel the need to take a crap. That grinds my gears.
