What have you done to your car today?

Finally got my new muffler welded on, at Meineke. Sounds deep. The rest of the exhaust system needs replacing, as it's kinda rotting out. There's a hole in the top of the resonator big enough for a finger or two.

Replaced the rad, both hoses, and coolant. I added WaterWetter for a bit of additional cooling/protection.

I also replaced the NGK BPR6es plugs with some BPR7es'. I've been told that because the plug has a hotter burn range, it'll help regarding the knock I've been getting.

I also received my Meth Injection kit... Hopefully next weekend for the install.

Swapped my wheels onto my brothers car so he could go to a rallyx. Unfortunately I had to work, hopefully i'll be ready for the Divisional Championship event in august, http://www.stlrallyx.org/information_midiv_2008.html

New brake pads and rotors on the front of the Escort.

Going to the local tire shop tomorrow to see about a set of tires/wheels. Should be a lot of fun. :lol:

Just got my front bumper and right fender destroyed. 👍

Some asshole in a Clio backed onto my car when it was stopped at the gas station and I was inside paying. Just awesome... :rolleyes:

I went and took a ton of pictures of my car while its still stock. After owning it for about nine months and 11k miles, I hadn't taken anything more than an iPhone photo of her. Its a little dirty but doesn't show too bad. Thursday I get window tint and will wash it really good after that for some new photos. Instead of dealing with imageshack or whoever, I'm just using Flickr now, so here's the link to both this particular shoot and to my general Flickr page to see my older ones.

Washed and then properly waxed my car for the first time since last summer! Very impressed with the results. The stuff I used was from ebay and has turned out better results than when I used meguiars wax.

Not sure if your supposed to but I waxed the windows too :lol:

Heres the link if anyone wants some, its definately worth it and only £9 inc p&p.

Next on the list of to do's is to get the exhaust tip changed or pushed back a bit.

Did a thorough job on the interior last night, and conditioned the leather but didn't get to dressings.

Gave the car a two hour wash today - Wheels, arches, doorjambs and hatch included.
I started polishing the car as well, using Meg's Medium Cut, then Fine Cut and a Machine Glaze to finish. I sealed in all the glossy goodness with Chemical Guys' M-Seal. Due to the time taken from the process, I was only able to get the hood, wings, and bumper finished. More tomorrow, I guess.

Once the whole car's been polished and sealed I'll add a coat of CG Pete's 53 Black wax for added gloss and protection.

I'm trying to get the car into top shape over the next month - I may be going to a big DSM meet/tour near the end of July, and I'm helping to plan a second Island meet in mid August.

I'm also half-considering getting the front end of the car painted. Hood, wings, and bumper. Given how badly they're chipped and damaged and the fact that I (for a while at least) work at a bodyshop, it would appear to be the optimal time to do so.

As long as you didn't wax the windscreen it's a good idea to wax the other windows, the water just runs off them so easily. 👍

Today, I replaced the front badge after it had been damaged;

It appears to be shocked at me taking the photo;

Notice how I managed to buy one with some paint missing from the 'T'. I'll get another new one soon. 👍

Gutted. Good shot though...

I would have taken a hammer to the damaged badge for a crazy-paving effect.

Yup, it was some gravel that got kicked up into my car, caused a smash in the windscreen too that meant the whole thing needed replacing :(

All done and dusted now though, ready for the next show in 2 weeks time 👍

What did you use to get all the badge gunk off?

*is midway through debadging Marvin*

When I debadged the Pug, I used some tar remover stuff I found in the garage. I think it was Autoglym, but I could just be making that up.

I've been using Tesco tar remover anna hairdryer.

Unfortunately I ran out of arsed at about halfway and I haven't been able to find anywhere that stocks it.

There wasn't any gunk left over, it was held in place with a nut at the back. The dirt in the photos was just general dirt that was removed with an Optimum No Rinse solution mixed 1:50, sprayed on and agitated with a brush.

Your best bet would be tar remover, if that fails then use a hairdryer to heat the sticky stuff and then a credit card to scrape it off.

Anna Hairdryer? Do you name everything? :dopey:

I didn't have to heat mine. They came off pretty easily by rotating them and then the tar remover got rid of the adhesive.

Ol' Whitey is Back! well to looking like normal that is.

Decided to paint my 17'' rims black and thats the result of 7 hours of hardcore work (yes it was hardcore considering it had 100% humidity and 51 degree celsius/ 124 fahrenheit)
