What have you done to your car today?

Wow... lol that would suck in Houston. We get a lot of flash flood.

And this is why I went away from CAI. Get about the same performance for less money and a safer way to go.
If floods are that big an issue, then yes, you probably are better off with a short ram. I can barely take the risk to drive on the outside lanes when the water builds up puddles on the curbs. :scared:
Really nice TL. I love those TL - the new one are hideous.
That one's not my personal TL, just a way of showing where the filter is on a CAI. :)

Uh oh... What about those people who run meth in the engines?

If you have a proper setup, you can spray water/methanol into the intake for added protection with high boost turbo applications.

My boss uses windshield washer fluid and bottles of "Heat" that you can get at any auto parts store. :)

I was more poking fun at the at the "you're on meth thing there." But thank for that! Now I understand.

I had new front tyres fitted today, purchased by my mum's boyfriend!

He is so talented at buying people's affection. Strange, since he's quite likable anyway...

Either way, my car officially curves neither violently left nor slightly right; it goes straight. How novel!

Correct.

And you should see the state of the Megane. Sadly I didn't have my camera in the car at the time (which is a first) so you can't. But it's a right old mess. I've investigated every nook of the MX-3 and that's the only sign that anything ever happened.

And yet...

SRIs are not as effective performance-wise as CAIs, unless you're lucky enough to have a huge engine bay where you can lay in some plastic tubing. My brother's '98 Impala has a SRI, but he has enough space in there to run some of the aforementioned tubing up from below his headlight, dumping into the filter of the SRI. I imagine it works pretty well. :)

I finally replaced my missing front-right blinker in the lower bumper the other day. Really improved the look of the car.

I rotated my tires with my dad today. They've got a little scalloping. Is that due to misaligned toe or something? I read about scalloping in the reviews of the tire, anyway.

We also pulled apart the hoses going to the fuel tank. and took out and fixed a valve that might be the reason why I can't fill up at the gas station in one continuous pull of the dispenser trigger. It's always a third of a gallon and then *click*-- off goes the flow to the dispenser nozzle. pull-click-pull-click. Literally pumping gas is a bitch.

And then we put back all the underbody parts and the rear bumper with zipties after the OEM clips had broken off somewhere down the line. Fine Korean quality they used to have with their suppliers over there on the peninsula. My dad kept saying, "I can't believe how many people had to die over there in the war. All for this." and "I wonder if Kim Jong Il has one of these... no wonder he's so pissed off."

Hopefully my fueling problem is fixed now. I think I might get better mpg as well now that I don't have my sagging bumper as a wind sail.

Scalloping, or "shark teeth" is a sign of toe wear. Or the tires could just be crappy.

Maybe you're right, but mine does it every now and again and I just came to the conclusion that the pump nozzle was picky.

Generally yes, but unless you're getting it confused with cupping, scalloping can normally be prevented by rotating your tires at proper intervals. A factory alignment can cause it on a lot of cars.

Reminds me of when my friend was caught out by traffic stopping suddenly in LA when we went to the States a few years back. We were driving a brand new Mitsubishi Outlander. The car we hit was one of these:

Yup. A Mazda (323 saloon). And guess which car came away unscathed? No kidding, but the 323 had a few scuffs and the bumper on our 'Bishi had virtually fallen off.

So. Mazdas getting higher on your "to buy" list? :D

Given that she's still going, remarkably, you're welcome to drop in and go for a test drive any time.

Throughout today and tomorrow a couple friends and I are planning on taking the engine and transmission out of my cousin's Civic, removing the trans, cleaning and painting the engine, and putting the new trans on, which we've already cleaned and painted.

Bought this book. I'm looking to swap a JDM H22A into my '92 Accord. With this, plus CB7Tuner's info, I think I'm pretty well covered on everything I'll need and how to do it properly. Now I just need to buy a second car to drive in the meantime (planning on a late second-gen Chevy S-10, or third to early fourth-gen Ford Ranger to double as a parts hauler, if I can find one cheap), then save up a few grand for the engine, tools, etc. Yippee.

It's finally stopped raining for a while, so I'm getting my car washed (possibly detailed) tomorrow, and driving down to Denver to replace a broken taillight.

100%? As in they block out 100% of the light? As in you can't see out of them?

Doesn't 100% tint mean it lets 100% of the light through? That wouldn't be a tinted window at all...

I washed the GTI today and cleaned out the interior. And I'm trying out this new leather treater stuff. We'll see how that turns out.

If you're going to buy any leather products, get Leatherique. I picked some up on Thursday, and there is no comparison between quality leather products and useless off-the-shelf consumer grade crap.

Today I rewired the fuel pump on the Talon.
The stock feed to the pump is a meager 14-gauge string that results in significant voltage drop - 10 volts when running is common.

To rectify this issue, I tore apart half of my interior and ran a new 10-gauge wire straight from the battery to the back of the car. I used the original (switched via ignition) feed to trigger a 30a relay and give power to the pump. I also added a switch inline from the relay ground to the grounding point, allowing me to effectively disable the car when it's parked downtown or for an extended period. Given that the switch is in the back of the car, I think there's a slim chance any thief will look that far for any switch or antitheft measures.

oh ya sorry, forgot that in the states its different, well for you guys, i'd say i blacked out my windows 0% , meaning letting now sun rays through at all.

Over here, the percentage stands for how much tint it is, not how much sun light gets through.

At night on non illuminated roads, the blacked out windshield is a bit tricky to drive with, but luckily there are barely any roads that arent illuminated anyways :D
