What have you done to your car today?

Decided to paint my 17'' rims black and thats the result of 7 hours of hardcore work (yes it was hardcore considering it had 100% humidity and 51 degree celsius/ 124 fahrenheit)

Comments are appreciated! 👍

Chris

Looks good, but wouldn't it be better to paint with less humidity?

I would have given up before I left the house... :scared:

well i was planning on doing it since like 2 months now and always told myself, its way too hot bla bla bla... and in the end i did get a sunburn on my face, shoulders, and back :indiff:

Yes of course! but when isnt there any humidity in the ME? LOL

My mom made the best comment so far, she said, why dont you paint your rims on another friday (thats the weekend here) when it isnt so hot... :D

Thanks for the comments all!

Chris

11 hours of work, 9 cans of Krylon Satin Black spray paint, one temporary paint job that turned out ok.

Where can you get those cans? because I may do that to my car.
As for me. Kumho Escta Tires installed, a clean motor oil change all for the single price of 63 dollars.

It's a good job that it's temporary, the paint is clearly very very blotchy all over the car! :scared:

I was about to say the same, but I wasn't positive if those weren't shadows or reflections or something...

As far as I can see, you did a nice job with the wheels, Chris. Looks good 👍.

Cyborg is right, that was at the end of the day and the shadow from the neighbors tree was on the car. I can get a better picture tomorrow, but it's been explained.👍

nk4e: Krylon Indoor/Outdoor paint sold at any local Wal-Mart for $2.97 a can.

I've done something very interesting to my car today. I will provide a picture and see if anyone can guess what it is... :D

Negative to all - exhaust is part of a stainless catback system which has been on for 2 years, ABS was standard (I hate that badge... I'll be getting rid) and my dad put the Welsh badge on (he was Welsh) back when the car was his, 7 years ago.

You've gone all JDM on us and installed some marginally different Japanese spec rear lights?

 Not quite.

You're looking at the rear bumper... I'll add a clue that, technically, I didn't do it and was entirely an unwilling participant.

Scratched it is closer - though I'd say "scuffed". See if you can guess what the implement that scuffed it was :D

I'm going to have to tell you, aren't I?

It was a Renault Megane. Doing 25mph.

Correct.

And you should see the state of the Megane. Sadly I didn't have my camera in the car at the time (which is a first) so you can't. But it's a right old mess. I've investigated every nook of the MX-3 and that's the only sign that anything ever happened.

I just bought a new 2009 Mazdaspeed 3 GT.

I plan to buy a cobb short ram intake after I break it in... It lets the engine breathe better although cold air intake would probably be the better choice.

However, I hear of those CAI sucking up water and causing it to hydrolock, which is basically where water enter the air intake. The reason why the MS3 is so vulnerable is because of the low mounted intake.

Either way those intake produce around 15-20 whp. That's impressive... just from an intake alone. Those turbo engine react well with mods.

The intake on mine is directly at the bottom front of the car.

And I'll share what every person has told me. Don't haul ass through puddles & don't drive into ponds. You should be just fine if you just drive a little more carefully during the rain.

Wow... lol that would suck in Houston. We get a lot of flash flood.

And this is why I went away from CAI. Get about the same performance for less money and a safer way to go.

Really nice TL. I love those TL - the new one are hideous.

At high rpm and high throttle load, it's possible to suck up enough water to bog it, but of course you should avoid fully submerging the filter, lol. It'll take quite a puddle to do that. You can idle right through a puddle with half your filter submerged, and nothing would happen because that small amount of idle air would just go through what's left.
