What have you done to your car today?

Whoo, I got my window in and re-tinted, I think until I get my next money-check im just going to find a $20 temp cd player and I HOPE MazdaTrix will get my trim piece in....

Made an exhaust hanger for the muffler - Old one fell out, as it was held by a nut and washer. This one's welded.

Also put four mudflaps on the car in preparation for a rallycross on Sunday.

Due to a split second of stupidity, I f*#ked up all the studs on my front left wheel. Messed up a few nuts too. Now my car is undrivable as I can't put the wheel back on. Same with a friends STI which is also stuck in my garage -_- Both cars should be fixed and up and running by tomorrow hopefully

And parts dont look glossy because of my house. However I think im going to get some of my money back because they are not super correct and I had to clean up the right side so the circle would be complete.

Looks good Thatman.
Cars looking really good and you need to give us a couple of shots of the whole car. :D

Well today I finally got all the pieces I need for the 5 speed tranny swap.
I got the clutch pedal assembly, ebrake, shifter, shifter linkage, hydraulic reservoir, and it's assembly while obtaining all the little things needed for the swap.
Now all I need is the actual tranny and engine to rebuild and we're there.
43 bucks is all that cost too at the U-Pull-It yard.
4 hours in the hot sun and heat were worth it.

Changed the ATF and checked the timing.

My brake pads need replacing, so I'm looking into ceramics. Work to be done when I get around to the bearings.

Hey thanks, I really want to find a good spot to take some sweet pictures of it but there are few places like that, either way I should have some more and put them up in the imports thread soon enough cause I havent yet gotten any good pics of it with the extra lights, moved plate and mesh.... then hopefully next week ill be able to order my cars paint and get the top taken care of.(I HATE what Nufinish did) And I also complained to the dude about the things( tail stickers) being too big so he is sending more my way.

Just got in from changing the Datsuns head gasket. Myself and two of my friends managed to change it in about 2 hours. Gotta love old Datsun A series engines. Hardly anything to take off to get the head off.

Did this last week, but just now getting around to posting it. Removed the intake manifold from the track car and cleaned it inside and out. Shot a fresh coat of aluminum colored paint onto it before re-install along with replacing most of the oxidized bolts with fresh shiny ones. Then proceeded to paint and install a non-bent valve cover. (old one had a slight bend in it from being strapped down to a pallet)

Valve cover would be a coat of high-temp primer, followed by a nice coat of Rustoleum Indoor/Outdoor cobalt metallic blue. Block sanded the lettering, then finished it off with a coat of high-temp clear.

Fresh tires.

Cooper CS4s. Terrible. Ride very nice and are dead silent but there's a random vibration at 70mph through the steering and grip is gone (although some of that might be from a bit of release compound still being on the tires). So once I manage to find a job, my first bunch of paychecks are going to a proper set of tires for the 6.

Finally got my camber plates in and pillow ball mounts for the Z24. :D
Some pics.

So now I'll have full adjustability for the front suspension and hopefully next year, I'll be able to get the KW Variant 3's to finish up this project car.

Washed and waxed the Cooper, polished the rims and exhaust tip with never dull and wax, polished the plastic with some plastic polish, and Rain-X'ed the windows. Looks real good.

University starts back tomorrow so did a little work on the Datsun to make sure I can get to school without any problems. :D Topped up the oil, coolant and windshield washer fluid. Also fixed the vacuum hose going from the distributor to the carb and put back on the air filter and intake piping. Put the spare tire, jack and wheel tool and my small socket set back in the car. Good to go. 👍 But it's good to go to school so.... 👎 lol

I finally got the interior back together again after finishing up my HPT hookup plugs installation.
Looks great and can't wait to actually be able to use them.

Here's the hole I drilled into the center console and thought this to be a good place for the jack.

Here's some of the solder work I do and finishing up on this jack for the console.

Here's the plug portion of the union.

Heat shrunk and strain relieved for a finished plug. :D

Here's the hookup as it's going to be when in actual use.
Nice and clean install and very easy now for the HPT cable to hook into.

When not in see, jack is covered. ;)

Finished installation of the piggyback OBDII jack under the steering column and data/ signal hookup on the dash. Everything else is reinstalled and ready to go.

Full drivers side shot of the cockpit. :D

And I still can't bleed the brakes as the abs solenoids never engaged when I cranked up the car.
So now I'm in the thought process of eliminating the abs setup altogether unless I can get this car going.
And I'm in the process of getting the old Paris exhaust off of the car with the remaining piece to come off with be the header ball junction connection or whatever they call it.

Hopefully I can have the new exhaust on the car tomorrow and maybe have that part of it finished.

Looks like a...
Cavalier?

What are all of the gauges?
I see a radar detector, what appears to be an a/f gauge (Sure hope it's wideband, as we all know a narrowband is next to useless), and a bunch of others I can't identify.

Knowing you, this has got to be something big, you haven't even had that STI for a year.
I may or may not know what's in store. Like you said, if you know Fred...

As for my car, I haven't even washed it in a month and a half. I'm trying to see how brown I can get my wheels. I'm considering repainting them some sort of cinnamon brown, it looks pretty good covered with brake dust.

Nothing's done yet, but it's kind of a big deal... well, to me, anyway. Should that deal not come through for whatever reason, I've got something else up my sleeve that should also be interesting.
