What have you done to your car today?

Luckily yours popped back to shape all the way. Although mine does need a bit more than a simple respray.

Looks good! 👍

Rick, thats a pretty tidy job you've done there 👍

On the subject of what I've done to my car today, I cleaned it, polished it, and then put it up for sale on ebay! After four years of loyal service its time to move on, probably to something with a little more grunt :D

Thanks for the comments guys the colour match is very good, been getting my paint mixed from these guys for 4 years. Unfortunately the bumper didnt pop all the way back theres one little bit extruding that looks a bit ugly you can see in the pics, even if I filled the area around, it wouldnt look that good.

I've finally got round to fitting my new exhaust today (I had to really the old one fell off) Really pleased with it, I'll put a quick clip up in the "your cars exhaust" thread when I get a chance. :)

Managed to test fit a wheel on coilovers, although it's a pain in the ass I STILL haven't had time to get tires on them..

THAT is going to look really good on the car.
Nice choice in rims too.
Post up when you have it done.

I am currently in the process of degreasing my engine bay. Yup, I've been so bored this week that I've cleaned basically every part of the thing.

I installed 10.3mm spark plug wires and a new steering wheel. As well as had midas fit some flowmasters on(you can hear in the exhaust thread) and had CarX balance my wheels to fix the wobble at Hwy speed. For FREE Non the less!(well because of what happened)

As you can see they are much larger.
Now then the reason CarX gave me a free tire balancing was because someone decied to rearrange my driver side window on their property!

So It may be a wee bit before I have an sound again, luckily only 2 things were stolen:my Head unit and Dual amp.
Then I have to replace my trim,(though I had to do that anyways)my passenger door lock and maybe a wire or two.

No this wasnt in front of my house but I look at it as it could have been been worse. Still i think i wouldnt mind going to court for beating the s**t out of them.

Lame. I hate how people have to break into other people's cars to get their sound system.

yeah, I wasn't the only one though, someone else s was also broken into but since all they had an aftermarket tape player so they stopped and went on to my car.

In a couple of years, hopefully, that'll drop even more. I love the fact that manufacturers have made the stereo systems coded to 1 car only & advancing the idea. :dopey:

Well I got this in the mail today. :D
This is a custom exhaust made by Adam at Atomic Fabrications.
Here you see the side exit I'll be using for racing purposes. It's all V-clamped so changing this is a cinch.

Here's the full over axle exhaust and notice the cat delete. I've got tuning software that'll get rid of any secondary bank sensor cel lights from coming on.

I also got my AEM Uego installed and ready for some tuning with HPTuners.

I've still got to get a vacuum/ boost gauge for hookup to the Stiegmeier prepped M45 on it's way. :D

That's pretty much what I've got done today. :D

I see what you did there. I think.

Me? My automotive teacher once told me of how an old lady came into his shop, asking for a "710" change. A tech was messing with her, and she read the oil cap upside down.

I went for a drive yesterday, and when I came back I noticed a clanking noise whenever I hit a bump at about 30mph. My front wheel bearings are going, so I'm picking up a pair soon. I can get the whole bearing + hub assembly as a unit, so I should be able to do the work myself. No idea when I'll find the time though. But anyone have experience with Timken's quality and reliability?

Timken is the only brand I look for when it comes to any kind of bearings.
Good product line and have never had an issue with Timken bearings.
Good luck with it.

Washed the outside and vacuumed the inside of it today.

I should get some pictures of this thing, and not just in my yard in the daytime.

Well I finally found a place to mount my boost gauge and decided to mount the gauge pod so it's ready while I decide on which gauge to get.
I subbed an old a/f gauge to see how it's going to look.

I like where it's at and goes good with the other gauges.
This should cover all the gauges I'm going to have with the exception of the egt which I'll integrate into one of the inputs of the Aeroforce gauge.
Lot's to do next week. :D

No problem at all with vision.
The only thing is that two of the gauges reflect off of the windshield which can be distracting.
I'll eventually fix that with either relocation of the gauge or different housings.

I wonder what the outside view will look like. Misnblu, nice!
Today, I got a rubber part of the two or three peice part of the stock tube intake for the 240sx. I also went to wash my brothers car because it was out in the dirty rain yesterday.

Though I still have yet to get my window fixed; My friend had the BRILLIANT idea of using the ole Mazda emblem for the center since the horn wasn't wanting to work anyways.

Installed water/meth injection on the Talon on Saturday.

1 Gallon tank in the back of the car, I ran the line under the car with the fuel/brake lines, where it should be safe.
Mounted the pump to the battery box, about 10" from the injection point on the upper intercooler pipe.
It's switched via my eBoost2, rather than the normal Hobbs pressure switch. It'll give better control of the system, and it's part of the reason I went with the Turbosmart guage/controller in the first place.

I'll just be running straight water (distilled) on a 250cc injector to start with, but I may move up to 380cc's of 50/50 (which happens to be winter washer fluid, at 49% distilled water, 49% alcohol, and 2% dye) or even 780cc's of methyl hydrate to halt knock, supplement the fuel system (quite substantially, I'll add, given the stock 1800cc/min fuel setup), and enable moar boost!!.

I'm running 17 PSI right now, with a hint of knock when I get to 16-17 pounds...

20 PSI and meth, perhaps?

Our turbo westfield shop car runs a snow performance injection kit with a mix of washer fluid and HEAT.

Edit: that's at 15lbs on a stock 1.8 Miata motor.

I bought the bearing-hub assemblies today (pre-greased, and sealed! beats the hell out of all the packing we had to do in school). The only problem is that they need to be pressed onto the steering knuckles. There's an Advanced Auto Parts in town with a Brakes Plus built onto it, so hopefully they have a press and I can still do most of the work in the parking lot.

*EDIT* - A pic:
