What have you done to your car today?

Nothing's done yet, but it's kind of a big deal... well, to me, anyway. Should that deal not come through for whatever reason, I've got something else up my sleeve that should also be interesting.

Intriguing. Must be something pretty special if you're selling up both your cars.

Took it in for it's MOT and service yesterday. First had to get a pair of new front tyres as the inside shoulders were quite worn mostly thank to speed cushions, £48.

And just been to the garage (it's like 300 yards from my house) to find out that it needs new rear shocks :ouch:. Not a huge deal, £100 for the pair, but the suspension is multilink checking my Haynes manual means they have to go through the boot flooring. Meaning lovely labour costs.

Bum.

Well I haven't done anything to my Car today, but I did do an oil change on a relative's Toyota Corolla CSI....those Oil filter's are soooo annoying to get undone.

Today has been spent messing about trying to release a ceased clutch on the Spitfire, coupled some messing about trying to fix the dodgy electronics.

Not a lot of luck, so will be trying again in the morning!
Wasnt helped by a flat battery so I cant test the fixed fusebox until the things charged...

Just crashed. Sudden stop in traffic, couldn't stop quick enough, rammed an '07 Escape. He only suffered a slightly bent rear bumper. My airbag didn't go off. The crash wasn't hard enough to jerk anyone in the car forward, but still seems odd considering the damage. As far as getting it running and road legal, I think just the radiator (+ mount), headlight (+ mount), and main power fuse need replacing. The engine ran fine when the fuse was jumped. We flattened the hood enough to see past for towing. I'll tie it down for driving, then just save up and buy the carbon fiber replacement I was eventually going to get anyway.

That's major repairs with the radiator crush guard being that badly damaged.
You'll have to have the taken to a frame shop and straightened out or have another rewelded into place.
That's alot of damage there.
Good luck with it and yeah, you've got your work cut out for you.

Taped up the back window since some jerkoff(s) decided to rip it and steal my tools out of my backseat.

I know how that is, my friend not too long ago got his tools stolen too and they were even out of sight....

I swear they just grabbed anything they could, because they took my tool kit, a toolbag filled with screwdrivers and miscellaneous parts, another toolbag with my jumper cables, my tow-strap, and a plastic bag with an old pair of boots (in case I get stuck in mud or snow). Lucky it's all stuff that's cheap to replace, and I plan on buying a locking box to store it all in, but it's the principle of the matter.

 You've got an S-Klasse?! DO NOT LOWER. I beg of you, DO NOT LOWER.

Anyways, I'm oddly cheery about having just gained my first demerit badges:
Deforesting, Olden Days, and Urgent and Irritated!

Deforesting: Attain by using excessive speed in a corner and exploring the shrubbery beyond, causing slight damage to vehicle and world. Decreasing-radius left-handed hairpin did this one to me. Total darkness, didn't see it coming. Why didn't anyone tell me that big FF saloons weren't nimble in low-speed turns! What's that? You did? Well enough.

Olden Days: Attain by disabling, in the spirit of fun, any critical safety feature which should have been left functional. It is so satisfying to perfectly modulate the brakes while rushing into a bend, holding it on the limit of grip, and dancing into the corner with a truly majestic blend of froty-smooth oversteer, tyre squeal, and the assurance that it couldn't be done any better than this. The trouble began when the corner tightened, I pressed too hard on the brakes, and my rear -my rear- made a run for it. Compare 'Hilarity Ensues' and 'OH SHI-'.

Urgent and Irritated: Attain by atempting to chase vehicles which are several orders of magnitude faster than yours- Hilarity Ensues. I finally found some fast drivers to play with! On a tiny road, a pair of fast Civics passed me, hazards blinking once for courtesy. I floor the throttle and nearly lose it in the next five corners. They vanish into the night.

I am far too happy about this, but I finally messed up. I finally exceeded the limits of grip and tarmac, and I can only blame myself. I can't decide which my car would prefer: That I don't try again for a long time, or that I perfect my run through that road. You may guess which I'll choose.

New Tires, New Rims..same old paint job...though I have put back the stock intake and sending a email towards Injen about my EO license plate.

Had my Stillen Equal length headers and Kinetix racing high flow cats installed. Along with my Stillen dual exhaust, it means my exhaust is finally complete. :D 👍

I tried installing them a long time ago, but with only a garage and jack stands it was too much, so I brought it too my mechanic. I warned him before hand that it was a huge job, and he called me later in the afternoon to say I wasn't kidding and it would be ready the next morning.

Total install time? 11.5 hours!!! Billed me for half that and didn't charge me for any parts, so it wasn't that bad.

Was it worth it? Thanks to no gas, an accident and 2 cops sitting in the parking lot at the gas station it took me almost 20 minutes before I could put the peddle down and WOAH. I stepped on it around 35 kmh and the car leaped forward like crazy, even making my traction control go nuts which scared me at first, so I got off it (realized I was already doing 80!!!) then realized it was because my tires tried to break loose and I sat smiling with a 10" rod. And the sound...the sound!!! Its like a million angels playing your favorite song in your ear as you hear that you just won the lottery, over and over again. So yes, it was worth it.

The only down side? Its the first mod I haven't installed myself, and I'm actually a lil dissappointed by the fact that I wasn't able to do it.

Anyone have experience with carpartswholesale.com? They've got a great selection, but I'm wondering about the quality/fit and shipping reliability.

Need video!

I did a random Youtube search of G35 Stillen exhaust and if it sounds anything like this video, then damn. 👍

Too Twangy. Mine is really deep with a slight gurggle in the low rpms and a roar in the higher. Hard to explain, I'll try to get a video of it soon, probably when I go to the track at the end of the month. Till then, this is a bad video with a language warning, but its close to mine.
