What have you done to your car today?

I should be putting down around 200 to 225 at the wheels at best. I'll be quite happy with that and am not into the ultimate hp war like so many.
And yeah, the original high output quad engines were so far ahead of their time and went unnoticed by spocom enthusiasts.

The car is being built for a purpose and that's to be driven.
I can't wait and also, the day that a Cavalier is a sleeper is when it can reliably run 11's and handle 1G loads. :D
That'll never happen. :indiff:
Absolutely a healty upgrade.👍 I take it you're running low boost then, maybe 5-9 lbs? With the regular Cavy gear ratios, the first three gears in anything less than bone dry can be a little hairy, but it sounds like a blast. And you're more than likely right as far as being a good speed car. The 1G is deffinitely attainable however. Are you a member of Quad4Forums.com?

Cheers,
Jetboy

At least now it'll have some proper go to back up the looks.

Then when the 5-speed swap happens (or has it already?) it'll be the one Cav I'll drive

What exactly do you think a sleeper is? Because his Cavvie is not one.

I never said it was a sleeper I said "it can be considered a sleeper in some ways."

It's a Chevy Cavalier with as much power going to the wheels as an S2000.

So yes it might not be the exact definition of one but who is going to expect a Chevy Cavalier to be able to possibly keep up with an S2000?

Jetboy, yeah I'm a member of the Quad4Forums and have been a member for some time. Same with JBO and a couple of others as far as forums.

And thanks for all the good compliments people. It's not often a Cavalier receives any love from car enthusiasts. :dopey:
And yeah, the 5 speed is in the works, and I've everything I need except for the 5 speed tranny which is coming sometime in 2010 for a rebuild, lsd, and upgraded clutch.

And TVC, here's what it looks like in a recent video I made for insurance reasons with a hurricane that was coming not too long ago.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments on the Cavy. It's quite unusual for any love to be shown for these cars. 👍

My replacement Dunlop WinterSport M3 finally arrived. So the winter pwnage can now begin.

The wheels are RS6 replicas with a slight bump in offset. Fills the arches nicely and has a clean OEM look. It was the standard wheel on the A4 S-line. Now my car looks even more like a plain jane A4.

There's a little. Right there. on the edge of the drive....

*looks outside, to about a foot and a half of accumulation*

O~O

Well, I didn't do anything to the truck, per se. But I'm currently modifying my old speaker boxes from my home theatre turned car system speakers, and I'm just waiting on the dremmel to charge up so I can sand off the little bit I need to fit the 6x9s into the boxes. Then I'm gonna use silicone sealer between the back of the box and the plate I'm mounting the speakers on. Should I seal the sides of the box where the hole for the speaker is? It's particle board, and I don't want it to just crumble away with the bass

Just changed spark plugs on the montero, There was almost nothing left on the electrode on the old ones. No idea when they were last changed, maybe 5+ years ago

The wheels look good ///M! 👍

I went on a hunt for more wiper blades since the new ones I got don't really fit. So tomorrow I'll be off getting new OEM ones and maybe some new valve stem caps.

Finally got the new backboxes fitted to the 911 this week.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get it above 3k revs yet to see what it really sounds like as we have too much snow and ice! Still, the sound at low revs is exactly what I was hoping for... a lovely burble (much like the noise an older, aircooled 911 makes), which drops off as soon as the throttle is eased back... sounds great on toe n heeled down changes too :)

GT3 tail pipes should be here in another week or so too... so it won't look like it has a couple of pea shooters for tail pipes anymore.

Sound good but I don't hear anything. lol
Sound clips for the win. ?D
And yeah, nothing sounds better than some heel/ toe downshifts on a good sounding exhaust note. ;)

Sound file to follow once the roads thaw out enough to allow runs to 7k ;)
Haha, I hear ya on that one.
There's such a thing called traction that can't be achieved with frozen roads.
Got the 944 in storage it's been so cold. :nervous:

You need Bosch Icons.

I'd be more than ok with those. My car just has a PTB (whatever that is) bracket which is impossible to find. But the dealer stocks the OEM blades (Bosch Aerotwin, whatever those are) which worked fine before.

I definitely would have gotten Icons but they just don't fit on my car. Plus, for $18 per blade, it's not a bad deal.

Rain-X Latitude's have the PTB brackets on them I think...goes to check the website....yes Rain-X Latitude's fit the GTI. I've never used them though, but they look just like Icons.

$50? Wow you get screwed. I buy them when it's BOGO at the auto parts store, which typically happens every 6 months.

I can't replace them on the rear of my car so I'm not sure how they work. My dealer gives me (crappy) blades for free so I just let them change out the rear every service.

I looked to see if I could make a strut tower bar for it for the hell of it (My friend has a ton of unused angle iron that would be perfect), but unfortunately it's impossible.

Looking at Misnblu's website has got me itching to do something to my Volvo, even if mine is a hunk of crap.
