What have you done to your car today?

For the first time ever I did brakes on my car. Took me like an hour to get everything off. Soon Im gonna be leaving to go get the new pads, and the rotors turned. Hopefully everything goes back together smooth.

Woot, got my M45 Steigmeier built supercharger in today.
I'll post up pics tomorrow. :D
Merry Christmas to me.

Had to defrost the inside of the windscreen before leaving work today, and had to force open my fuel cap :grumpy:

I hate defrosting my car twice in one day.

 Oooh can't wait. :D:tup:

So, my window is permenantly (Okay, until I fix it) cracked open on the driver's side, snow blew in, got on my dash and started to melt. A good deal of it landed in my fricken Bose speaker. :ouch: I dried it out, disconnected it.. I'm not sure if it'll be okay or what when it's fully dry, as I'm no audio expert. Anyone have a say in the matter?

Cheers,
Jetboy

Cherry bombs FTW. Had two on my ole RX-7 and it sounded mean, now I've got 2 on the Interceptor and it sounds epic.

JetBoy, keep it unhooked until you know they're completely dry.
The amplifier is built in with the speaker enclosure so don't risk it by turning it on until completely dry.
Go from there and good luck.

No pics btw. Too lazy to do anything. lol

10:00p Friday night I was in the garage, switching from almost-no-tread RE-01Rs to my Michelin Alpin snow tires. By 6:00a Saturday morning, there was 2" of snow on the ground, headed for a total of 16"... good timing.

Thanks mate. 👍 I plan on dialing the ballance back to mostly the rear of the car until I get new ones, lest I stress the weakened center of the speaker. Lucky I got the set on the cheap from a wrecked Grand Prix GTP.

Whaaaaaaaat? Nobody ever switches to snow tires and is greeted with snow in a timely fashion. You sir, are a witch

I'd like to suggest that you paint all the chrome shiny bits flat black. I often painted stuff like that black on my car because I don't like anything sticking out like a sore thumb. Scuff, clean, prime, paint.

Flat back absorbs heat, shiney finish reflects it. On the Intake you want shiney to refelct the engine heat, helps get more oxygen in to the engine!

My old razo gear knob got stolen from a garage I left my car at so for christmas I got a free replacement(naturally), a momo cometition knob (more expensive than my old one but they dont have to know) :D

Fitted this morning and it feels soo much better, lighter and sportier but its soo cold when you use it in weather like this. Im hoping in summer it wont get super hot or i might have to wear 1 glove like MJ all year round lol.... :indiff:

Merry Christmas to me. :D

Hopefully this will be on the car by mid Summer or early fall of 2010. :)

For a Cavalier?! So sweet. Is she an LD9 or 2200?

Cheers
Jetboy
LD9 or the 2.4 twin cam based off of the quad4 engine. 👍
The M45 should give me more than enough power to have some fun in the twisties where this car is happiest. :dopey:
And yeah, for a Cavalier.

Attaboy, I have an original 2.3 Quad in my Oldsmobrick. They're quite snappy. You'll be pushing close, what, 275 horse with that setup (And your other mods? I visited your page. :sly.) I've wanted to do something similar but cash is a little tight for something of this scale yet. Sweet ride though.

I should be putting down around 200 to 225 at the wheels at best. I'll be quite happy with that and am not into the ultimate hp war like so many.
And yeah, the original high output quad engines were so far ahead of their time and went unnoticed by spocom enthusiasts.

The car is being built for a purpose and that's to be driven.
I can't wait and also, the day that a Cavalier is a sleeper is when it can reliably run 11's and handle 1G loads. :D
That'll never happen. :indiff:

Yeah but even with 220 HP I think you can still consider that a sleeper in some ways. The car stock only has 150 HP (right?) so even 200 HP is a pretty big upgrade. It should be able to surprise at least a few Civic SI's and possibly S2000's (about the same amount of power at the wheels).

Either way there should be a big difference. 👍
