I bought a Kinivo BTD-400 USB Bluetooth adapter earlier this week, and it arrived to my mailbox today. This is the device I am using to grant my PC Bluetooth functionality. I started connecting my Android devices to this device to share files through Bluetooth. It works fairly well. Because I am using Windows 8, I didn't have to use the install CD to install files to get the thing to work on my PC. If I decide to use my former PC, I'll need to install the files from the Install disc to be able to use Bluetooth on my former PC.

Besides this, I realized a long while ago that my current PC is able to write DVD-RWs. I bought a pack of DVR-RW discs long ago... only to realize my former PC could READ DVD-RWs, but not WRITE DVD-RWs. So I'll have to decide what I want to put on DVD-RWs in case I want to store certain files on DVD-RW discs.

I bought a HIVE 750 W PSU a few days back. It came in today and so I swapped out the existing 430 W PSU with the new one. Along the way I re-organized various cables. I upgraded because I'm planning to swap out my GPU for a better one. I might swap out the CPU too.

Just ordered a pile of parts from Amazon, Newegg etc that are going to turn into a replacement for my vintage linux box. Hopefully.

My two Chromeboxes arrived today. 1 x Asus and 1 x HP, both Celeron. Turned them into XBMC boxes. Cheapest fully functional Hi10P players ever. Time to throw out my massive HTPC.

It is.

Know what isn't awesome though? Getting the blasted thing to work.

Motherboard wouldn't get past BIOS splash screen on startup with the card installed and running the main bios on the board. Switched motherboard to backup bios, same deal. Machine ran fine with a GTX 670 reinstalled. Enabled the 3570K's IGP in the backup bios, computer would boot into Windows when running with the IGP as primary adapter, and report the 780Ti having an I/O resource conflict with something. Tried card in secondary PCI-E 3.0 slot, same deal. Suspected PSU strength issue. Connected card to PSU using both PCI-E sockets on PSU (card requires two 8-pin, PSU does two 6+2 pins on each PCI-E socket), no dice.

Flashed a slightly updated BIOS to motherboard as a last ditch effort. Card worked perfectly upon reboot. Main BIOS was not apparently flashed - updated the backup BIOS as that was the only BIOS that could boot with the 780Ti - and still does not work. I need to find out how to reflash motherboard BIOS without having to actually boot the PC, because to regain capability with the main BIOS it looks like I'm going to have to take the 780Ti out, put a 670 back in and boot that way...

Main BIOS not being flashed along with the reserve BIOS would actually be a bit of a lifesaver, if for a different reason - the main BIOS has my CPU overclocking settings in it and the backup BIOS (that was flashed) does not. I can't remember what I ended up doing to my CPU to get it rock solid at 4GHz, y'see!

For the record: in Heaven 4.0 and 3DMark Fire Strike the 780Ti GHz Edition is roughly 5% faster than 670 SLI. Five per cent for one thousand bucks. Good value

Makes my issues installing the 770 look downright paltry in comparison. :ill:

Good luck with the "value upgrade", @Sharky.!

Here I was expecting the "upgrade" to go smoothly and take but a minute. I guess I should've taken the hint when disabling SLI before shutting down for the swap not only froze Windows with a black screen but also destroyed the 337.88 drivers I had installed!

Asus X552C | Intel Core i5 3337U 1.8Ghz | NVIDIA GForce 710M | 8GB Memory | Windows8 | 15.5 Inches

Will have his "first run" in a moment... :D

Eventually. :mischievous:

For now, this will suffice.

I saw a boost speed of 1228 during 3DMark
I literally pushed in my 780, booted in to the BIOS, disabled my on board graphics, saved, booted in to windows and installed drivers. Done. I saw a bit more of an improvement than you did though, going from integrated graphics and all lol.

Downloaded Sonic the hedgehog 2 on my phone and tried it.

So many memories flooding back, and you need a controller for proper game play.

Bolted the hard drive, SSD and optical drive into the case for my new box. Need the CPU before I can go any further.

Fired up my old XP machine for the first time in two years to copy about 80 gig of crap off it.

I (cough cough, thanks Dad, cough cough) bought PC parts last Saturday. Total of $1100 after discounts and shipping. Most expensive part was the GTX 760. I'll post the full specs and pictures once all the parts are here. I'm unbelievably excited. :D

Samsung updated Magician today and I discovered that I could use RAPID mode now. Seems like it's been there since December but I never noticed it. Nice :D

Bad news guys.

I bought the parts on Newegg and ten parts came today. But only six things were in the box. The graphics card, CPU, motherboard, and a free gift (Watch Dogs) were missing. We called customer service and they're "investigating". After double checking the box, we noticed the bottom of the box was opened and retaped.

My free games from newegg were digital downloads, not physical media. That's not part of it, is it?

Pretty effective method of stealing, unfortunately... I often hear things like empty TV boxes, even missing engine oil...

The case arrived today.

Newegg asked us to take some pictures of the box and the stuff. Hopefully we'll get a refund or a replacement. :D

Assembled my new machine last night. After an hour plus of messing around, discovered that fdisk will not create partitions larger than 2TB.

I only just got back from being away from work, and so Samsung Magician updated for me today - I always had Rapid mode enabled but the one positive I've experienced is that it no longer brings up a User Account Control dialog when I boot into windows that I have to accept. Now everything boots and I have no dialog boxes at all :)

This is by far the best part of the update! The UAC popping up every time I turned it on was getting old.
