What is wrong??????

I don't think user names reflect what the people like... unless Famine likes to kill people when he's not moderating :P

I too think there is room for pardoning, I am sure he will have learned his lesson, however you don't appear to understand the issue, now we have all lied about something at sometime or other, it may have been on this forum. The problem is he came in with a pointless title, a pointless thread, and a pointless inaccurate post. The issue for me was he claimed norschlife and Circuit de la Sarthe on GT4 was a joke, now this isn't because he was having a pop on Gran Turismo it happens often, in a more appropriate ways in other parts of the forum, it is the fact that he made these claims knowing they were false and giving a poor representation on Gran Turismo's behalf.

Now time for an ananolgy, I open a a thread in the automotive section: What the hell!!!, its about the BMW 3 series, I then procceed to post all these things about about the car is slow, the handling is a joke, it is noisy, and BMW have made a complete hash of it.

I have never driven this car though, so really I have no idea. It is:

A) A complete lie

B) It is incorrect

C) tainting the image of the BMW 3 series on unessassary grounds

Now Of course we here at GTPlanet are not trying to sell copies of Gran Turismo, we are here to discuss the finer issues of it, and generally enjoy our time here. This thread spams the website, and is no way benificial, so why should we just say, 'who cares' and ignore it, GTP will be filled with these useless threads which hog the main page of the forums, and generally clog the system up.

Then there was all that stuff about being one of the most successful young drivers ever, which to be honest was quite funny and ruined any last credibility he may have had.

This again is not a good way to go, whether you care or do not care. We could all pretend to be Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and many of the world class drivers we see out there. Do you seriously believe that it wouldn't degrade this website, no one would be would be credible. Also I would be very unhappy if I was Colin Brawn, now I very much doubt he is a member here at GTP, non the less its not fair on him, to be represented by an idiot who makes him look stupid, he is already successful and could be a world class race driver one day, and the people here at GTP will be sat thinking he is an idiot, again maybe that doesn't bother you but, I fail to see why these things are not an issue for you.

I would like to clarify that I don't think waterpolonic should get banned he will hopefully be more reserved in his posting manner from now on. @Qspec you haven't done anything wrong, but you must understand, if you do things like this, there is a problem whether you agree with it or not.

The post started out as a rant on his opinion that Gran Turismo is losing its high class. These kinds of posts and topics are quite common throughout the website. The only problems began when the moderators who had a different opinion got upset and started asking questions about whether or not he actually drove at what he called Le Mans. The pointless arguing that was besides the point about the actual name of the race track led to questioning on who he was personally. All of which had nothing to do with his original statement. Meaning, whether he was lying or not, it didnt affect the main point of his argument. When moderators start asking personal questions about your credibility on the basis that they don't agree with your main opinion that by the way doesn't in any way shape or form reflect the integrity of GTPlanet.net, Polyphony Digital, BMW or the good people at Sarthe, it becomes a dangerous place to be.

Author's Note:
I've enjoyed debating this so far, lol.

And that fact that waterpoloinc hasn't popped in to answer either question does nothing to help his case

Actually, there were no moderators involved in that action. In fact, there's only one in this thread - me - and I only have interest in seeing waterpoloinc back up the claim that others have shown really quite extensive evidence to contradict.

Differences of opinion are quite irrelevant in this case, since the opinion of waterpoloinc that said tracks are "a joke" in GT4 hinges on the fact that he has driven them, and that seems to hinge on the fact that, as far as Circuit de La Sarthe is concerned (since part of the circuit is not open to the public), that he is a professional racing driver.

It is against GTPlanet's rules to post information that you know to be false and to impersonate any person (in this case apparently a driver called "Colin Braun").

It could well be that GT4's representation of the Nuerburgring and Circuit de La Sarthe are "a joke" - but many people who have driven the 'Ring in real life and GT4 say otherwise (though it's a tad bumpier in real life). Very few people have driven the full Circuit de La Sarthe track in real life, and they are/were almost all professional racing drivers. If waterpoloinc. is an 18 year old from Miami as his MySpace indicates and not the 18 year old professional racing driver from Texas, the likelihood of him driven either course - let alone both - is very, very slim indeed, meaning that he is making things up in order to express his opinion that two real life tracks he's never been near are not accurately simulated in GT4. And the only way you'd know that is if you had driven them.

All I want is for waterpoloinc to prove what he's claiming about himself.

lol, sorry couldnt help but laugh at all the evidence against him. Given that he apparantly is a young person in the learning stages of socialism I believe that we would be immature ourselves for not understanding and deciding not to grant him a pardon on this situation. Suspend him for a couple of weeks at the most, but to ban someone for their first mistake is over-kill. I'm sure he is too busy laughing at all this to respond.

As the only active moderator here - and the only person capable of banning someone - I don't believe that I've actually mentioned banning except in this post.

It's a little premature to protest about a punishment that hasn't been meted, or even mooted, yet, don't you think? I'm just waiting on his response, personally.

Don't listen to them, Colin! (especially Detective Inspector Diego of Scotland Yard)! They are all just jealous and a bunch of big meanies :grumpy:... Congrats on the 2nd place last weekend, that was awesomez!11!!2! :D

It's pleading for a lesser punishment than what could be given. Obviously, he isn't going to reply.

Obviousely, because he was blatantly lieing.

But also why are you so bothered about this guy? Not that I think he'll be back any time soon at least under that username anyway.

I am also curious as to why you feel the need to defend him?
Like Dave said, he will reappear next week with a new user name, whether he has learned his lesson, I can only speculalte.

I think Diego should investigate this ...

btw, can't we just ask a mod to close this useless thread?

💡 Yes, we can! 💡

Dear Mods, SuperMods and Admins ... could you? Or am I just drawing your attention to my humble nickname and therefore risking eternal damnation myself? :ill:

I just read this whole thing and I'm dying over here:lol:

Detective Diego solving another mystery!
 on the crackdown.

Yeah anybody can tell this guy is lying just based on his maturity level...:yuck:

I will second that, this guy is never going to respond.
