What mode you people use?

hi what mode u people use in the option of steering? Amatuer,Professional,Simulation what mode u people use to drift wif? And i got an question how to get nissan 240sx

Simulation is the most common, even though I'm not a drifter I know that most of the sideways people use it as it's the most realistic way to control the car, with no movements made by the computer.

To get that Nissan, you'll have to buy it from the used car lot that sells the late 1990's cars (called Used Car Showroom II in the NTSC version or the Late 90's in the PAL version).

And i think that PAL version does not have 240SX,only 200SX,240SX was for US market as far as i know!

so simulation mode is like LFS--->Live For Speed the control is like a real car rite? No Wonder when i use simulation mode i can't countersteer easily LOL my car spin like hell.So what mode u people prefer or should i say what mode to use best.

omg i just tried simulation mode i can't drift at all i mean i can't countersteer back it will oversteer instead, can someone send me setting of RX7FD3S using simulation mode.

It's not about the settings, it's all about how you handle the car. If you can't drift with that mode, the only thing that can solve it is practice - not car settings. Someone, unfortunately I don't remember who, said that settings make 20% of a drift and the rest is pure skill.

If you really want the settings, go to the drift settings depot, it's a sticky in the beginning of this subforum.

Well i just try simulation mode again and i start to know how to drift abit but when i watch the replay the drifting is not very cool like using Professional mode, which mean i can't drift too slide if not it will oversteer if i countersteer fullly with full throttle out. But i really nice to try Simulation Mode during race with Driving Aids all at Zero, i wonder sheron drift video is it using simulation mode if it is that's a great job.

Guys i finally can drift with Simulation Mode, tips is (outer lane to inner lane, throttle control plus study course on what lane to take plus what speed or gear to enter corner). Drift On Simulation CHeer.........

Erm...... friends of GT how come there's no thread of time record for racing? I start to have some interest on racing, also is anyone using the new logitec Driving Force EX? Can someone give some comment.

In short, you're drifting far more realistically now than you were before.

That's exactly the way to go, practice makes perfect. Keep on training! :)

I don't know what you mean by the time recording, but if you want to compare your times with others I recommend the On-Line racing section of the forums.

(And please avoid double- or triple-posting in the future if possible, it'll save you from much harm.)

IT'S NOT EFFECTIVE IN 900MODE!!!!!!!! Jeezus Christ almighty!!!!!!!!! Have none of you guys noticed this???? Steering mode is only effective if you have a DF, NOT A DFP!! It even says so in the ticker at the bottom of the page when you highlight the option.

What does make a difference is turning adaptive steering on or off. I like having it off and ffb on strong.

I have a DFP so it is irrelevant. If you have a DF and want to drift I'd recommend using Novice mode because the higher modes have less adaptive steering angle adjustment than the lower. You need all the steering angle you can get to drift......so the lower the mode, the easier to control. Sim mode is NOT FOR DRIFTERS!

hold it hold it i using simulation mode is because it is more like in a real life driving and it need more skill on it to control this made us more gauge lol. Greycap thx for your comment anyway the On-Line racing section is for GT4 or GT3?

Guys just wanted to ask how many people still using DF and also using simulation mode to drift

I use the old DF, and I tried sim mode at first too... not very constructively to put it that way ;)

What simulation mode does is limit your steering angle so that the center of the wheel's motion simulates something like a 900 degree mode... so in essence, you won't be able to countersteer properly in sim mode as your wheels will only turn to 20% lock.

Both pro and am mode seem to offer full lock though... I really can't tell much of a difference between them when drifting.

Allright.....I'll clear up some muddy water for you guys......

Sim mode is 100% responsiveness, 0% dead band, 100% linearity (a true steering ratio) and no adaptive steering. Meaning yes, it limits your steering to 20% lock once you get up to speed (all modes have a low speed steering angle booster)

Pro has about 75% responsiveness, 15% dead band, 75% linearity, and adaptive steering (allows full lock when sideways).

Ameature has 50% responsiveness, 25% dead band, 50% linearity, and adaptive steering (affect is the same in all modes that have it)

Novice has 50% responsiveness, 50% dead band, 50% linearity, and adaptive steering.

If you like big dead band and more lag in your steering then use Novice Mode for drifting.
If you like NO dead band and more precise steering then use Pro Mode...this is less forgiving but gives better control with a more precise driver.
If you like somewhere in the middle then select ameature.

If you don't plan on drifting and want a more realistic/less forgiving experience then select Sim mode.

So basically what it boils down to is a trade off between precision and forgiveness in the steering feel. Sim is Not for drifters...... so Pro is for those who are very precise with steering, nov is for those who just kinda bang it from lock to lock in a wreckless maner. This is what I observed in GT3 and I don't see why it'd be different in GT4. I use 900 mode in GT4 obviously.

Guys just wanted to ask, can u guys use 4WD car like Evo8 to drift wif front and back tire of same type. O'ya anyone watch The Fast And Furious Tokyo Drift yet it's a nice movie i watch already ^^
