Really? I think it's great. I just saw about the first third of it the other night, and was reminded how good it was. I would have stayed up to watch the rest but it started too late.

Wow, how can you like Young Frankenstein and not like Blazing Saddles? They're like the Dynamic Duo of Mel Brooks comedy - two of the funniest movies ever made, bar none.

My email alert sound is the clip when Slim Pickens gets whacked in the head with the shovel near the beginning: Dong! "Owwwwwww..."

Kids today; what ya' gonna do? :indiff:

Both Blazing Saddles and Deliverance are two of my all-time favorite movies. I wonder what they think of It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World?

I watched The blood Diamond yesterday evening, it was a fantastic movie imo. The acting was good, the plot was good, the character development was good, the action was good. If it came out last year over here that would have been my film of 2006.

watched Hellboy last night, and while I wasnt expecting much from it, I did quite enjoy the movie, definatly worth watching a few times. 👍👍👍1/2/👍👍👍👍👍

Saw The Krays and Rocky Balboa yesterday
Funny ending The Krays, kinda ruined it and they could have added a bit more about them. 7/10

Rocky Balboa was quite good. His personality was back from the first and second which I liked. The best bit of the movie was at the end of the first round where Tony Duke fell over trying to get in the ring. The whole audience cracked up! 8/10

I can see the match up for Rocky VII. Rocky Balboa vs Mike Tyson. Cool cameo by him also.

Borat! - i new i wouldn't like this as much as all the reviews claimed. It is very very funny in parts, i almost choked on some food a few times. But other times its almost just boring (mainly in the last 30mins).
9/10 in bits + 5/10 in bits =
7/10 overall

Firewall - i like this film, ok its pretty basic thriller stuff but its still good. And quite violent for a 12.
7/10

The Wicker Man - horrifically terrible... avoid at all costs.
Crash - not bad if you're in the mood for a mindless fast-paced action flick with some laughs.

Has anybody seen Little Miss Sunshine? We both like Steve Carrell and Greg Kinnear, and I'd like to buy or rent it for my wife some time.

I'm waiting to see this one too. I might just wait to buy it used(I rarely buy new anymore).

Jarhead. Wasn't that great. I didn't like the main character. I didn't really care if he got killed. Other characters were like that too. Plus, they totally screwed up the meaning of the term "Jarhead."

This movie had potential, but blew it.

Crank - It was OK, but not much more. It kept going for shock value that just didn't do it for me. Acting and plot were poor, as expected. It was different, Statham is still interesting, and action sequences are above average to be fair. "C+"

Bandidas - Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek couldn't save this movie, and that's saying a lot. Steve Zahn is the luckiest man alive. Dwight Yoakam was in this one too. Creepy."D"

Snakes on a Plane - Did they say that this was going to be the movie of the year, or most overrated movie of the year? I guess the filmmakers wanted to combine couple of the most common "fears" that people have. Snakes and flying. Good idea, and they should've been able to make more out of idea like that. "C"

Smokin' Aces - While the stylized fight scenes were good, the storyline was actually pretty complicated to follow and forced an "Oh, I get it now!" scene. Way too much talking for a action movie. Alicia Keyes is hawt.

Employee of the Month - Dane Cook is pretty funny and the Wal Mart/Costco big box environment is easily recognizable to anyone who has worked in a blue collar franchise. However, the story is highly predictable and the other actors aren't as funny. Good amount of extras on the Blu-Ray version.

The Marine. Basically, John Cena runs around blowing things up. Reminds Lady_DA and I of an early Arnold movie. Wasn't really bad, wasn't really fantastic. Mainly a fun movie. John Cena has charisma/personality and could easily become a very good action movie hero. The Rock/Dwayne Johnson managed to do it. Transition from WWE to Movies. I'm looking forward to his next movie "Jornada del muerto. Although the full cast of actors right now are WWE actors, it doesn't look promising.

Open Season. Sony Animations "fish out of water" story about a domesticated bear transported back to the wild. three or four funny punch lines, enjoyable for anyone with young kids.

Saw it a few weeks ago... the GF and I liked it a lot. Its different, but funny and well acted. "Sleep with as many women as you can."

Geez, you watch more TV than I do.

Watching The Producers right now. Too much singing and dancing, but it's only been five minutes.

I'll watch Caddyshack after this. The boys are in bed, so I finally get to watch some movies.

LadyDA and I watched "Flyboys" last night. It was an enjoyable film. Very good fight scenes, and the love interest actually played an important part.

One think the missus and I like to do, is guess which characters aren't going to make it. In films like Deep Blue Sea, we'll guess who's gonna make it through the film, as soon as the main characters are introduced.

Flyboys made it tough, as none of the characters seemed to be of more importance than the other. Although I predicted three of them, and missus got two. I even predicted the end of the main fight scene.

As you watch it, you'll have to give it a try.

Flyboys is one that we're waiting to watch, good to hear that it's a worthwhile film.

Night at the Museum, went to see it with the woman and was very pleasantly surprised, Robin Williams still has it. Good movie to take the kids to or go with your significant other. B+

One thing Robin williams is very good at imo is sinister characters like in 1 hour photo. That was a great film imo.

I managed to get round to hiring Ultraviolet out...and I must say...I really wish I had used the £3.50 to get a cheap copy of RE: Apocolypse. Ultraviolet was tacky, boring and just didn't tickle my movie tastebuds. The storyline was poor, there was practically NO relation to vampires apart from Garth's typical pointy canines...oh...and the fact it SUCKS. Even the comic book chase scene with Sin City style camera movements and almost comic book graphics couldn't keep me interested

It was a pretty nothing cast other then the 4 chief actors (Chinlund, Finchter, Bright and Jovovich).

Nick Chinlund did an alright job portraying the typical comic book bad guy whilst William Finchter picked up the role of geeky tech-vamp in love with the heroine. Cameron Bright (X3: The Last Stand's "Leech") played the young boy with the blood that could kill the entire human race and he whom the story revolves around and Milla Jovovich....well...she did a good job looking quite sexy in her outfits...

After being dissapointed over finding out it had no relation to the enthralling british tv series a few years back (starring Jack "This Life" Davenport), the dissapointment was complete by my high hopes being crushed.

I don't usually go below C-, but as this is one of the worst films I've ever seen...F for fail...I mean come on....it didn't even do what Bloodrayne did...try to redeem it's self with a sex scene!

King Kong - God, I hated this movie. What a load of crap. It started off OK, but Jack Black ruined this film from the start. Oh, it gets worse. This was the first half hour.

The next two hours are filled with bad dialogs, predictable actions, horrible acting, ridiculous use of FX and CGI, horrible editing and possibly the worse directing and action sequences I've ever seen in a movie. I want my two hours back, and I'll take them from Peter Jackson.

The last half hour, it starts to improve, but then starts to get way too sappy, gaudy and idiotic. "Kong On Ice!" LOL! How embarrassing. I really enjoyed how they knock the beast out, and somehow get him on the boat, and made it all the way to "Broadway" without us seeing one step of that. Stupid. How about cutting one hour from the horrible middle of this picture and then make the ending flow a little better? And to top it all off, Jack Black makes most ridiculous and stupid movie lines of all time.

OK, so there was some parts I liked, but it does not save this movie for me. I'll never watch it again. I'll stick with the '76 version which I absolutely love.

We watched "The Pursuit Of Happyness" last night. I thought it was pretty good and well acted, the story was very moving. But overall it could've been better.

The Departed - 2nd time round and i thought it was even worse this time. Its extremely slow & boring in the middle, the excellent ending does make up some ground. Or should i say, would make up some of the ground if it wasn't nicked from the original. All the best bits in this were in Infernal Affairs. It's OK, nothing better. Mark Wahlberg is class though!
6/10
