War - With Jason Statham & Jet Li. One of those, avoid it at all costs type of a movie. Jet Li sucked, but I'm not a fan, so I pretty much expected that. Jason Statham on the other hand, I've been his fan since the "Lock, Stock...", but what is up with his Hollywood garbage, lately?

Transporter was great. One of those senseless, guilty pleasure type of DVD that's fun to watch. But is it just me, or those are the only type of films he stars in anymore? I'm really getting tired of him. Looks like since Transporter, only film he starred in that I liked was Italian Job.

Back to "War". It's so bad, it had the feel of Steven Seagal, or Wesley Snipes' straight-to-DVD flicks. "D-"

Yep Transporter was great IMO. Love that/those movie(s).

Mask Of Zorro - 8.5/10
Solid movie altogether, made me chuckle and bit and the fight scenes werent too much of a drag, make me want to watch the next movie in the series.

Letters from Iwo Jima

As a big fan of all things WWII, it took me a surprisingly long time to get around to watching this film. I was a huge fan of its sister film, Flags of our Fathers, both directed by Clint Eastwood, and both were equally as wonderful. The story is one from the Japanese perspective, which was extremely interesting in itself. You found yourself understanding the Japanese role more and more, as it did take a look at how both sides dehumanized one another to make the fighting less-painful. You notice other pieces from the sister film, and they make you think when they're on the other side. It was very hard to not get a little emotional in some parts of the movie, you really do feel for some of these characters.

This is one of those films that everyone should see, or at least in my opinion it should be the case. Do yourself a favor and rent or buy it.

The Fisher King 7/10

A rather interesting love story of a homeless man gone crazy after the tragic murder of his wife. He saves and befriends the life of a man who had a part in his wife's death, a rude radio show host who he himself goes crazy/depressed after the murder.

Rest Stop - 5/10

Simply another American Horror/Thriller where the story is only prolonged due to the character's stupid, illogical, crazy, never-in-your-right-bloody-mind-would-you-do-that actions within the movie. I will, however, give it extra points since Jaimie Alexander looked so good.

Weird Science 10/10

I know it's a stupid movie, but it's funny as hell. It was one of my favorites growing up as a teenager in the 1980s. Great lines by one of the greatest movie characters in the '80s, Chet (watch video).

Warning! Language = PG13

The Bucket List - 9/10

I saw this because my aunt wanted to see it. (in La) It was surprisingly good. I enjoyed it and it's the best along with the funniest I've seen Freeman and Nicklison be.

On a side note I was probably the "youngest" one there and everyone sat in the back of the theater. xD

The Fisher King 7/10

A seven??

That's Terry Gilliam at probably (and arguably) his best, after Brazil (1985). The Fisher King has that romance touch that makes it much more tolerable for the average audience, though. It's one of the few movies I haven't been able to... acquire.

I saw Die Hard 4.0 last night. It was alright. I expected it to be much worse, and the truth is that it was good... until that plane part.

Shooter - At the start I thought the movie was rushing too much and that I wouldn't enjoy it but it got better. 8/10 IMO.

No Country For Old Men - I'm still bit confused by it. It's everything you'd expect from the Coen brothers, but this is the first I wasn't quite certain if I caught everything at the end.

***PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT*** Shhhh. Please no talking during the movie.

I keep telling myself to stop going to theaters, but this one was the worst. I thought only kids talked while watching a movie, but in this paticular $3 theater(it was more like $4.50), everybody talked. I tried to focus, but it's so hard with so many people commenting on everything as it happens in the movie. If you wanna provide a commentary track, watch it on DVD at home. Please.

Anyways, the film is definitely worth the admission. Couple of things that I think will definitely set this film apart from others are cinematography and characters. Especially the cinematography. It is a good looking film. I'd give it a "B-" for now, but I don't think I get this film yet.

White Noise 2 - It looked interesting at first. Plot didn't make sense, I was bored, and it wasn't scary. "D+"

Shoot 'Em Up - WTF-nonsensical-violent flick that I knew it was going to be. While I did like it more than most movies of this kind, I'm just tired of it right now. Starring Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti and Monica Bellucci does help. "C+"

Death Sentence - This "revenge" movie started out a lot better than thought it would. But it just got totally ridiculous by half time. Too bad. "C-"

Twelve Monkey's gooder. :dopey:

Rocky Balboa - I'll give it an 8/10 but mostly because of the first half. After the fight was announced things seemed rushed and not so emotional as the beginning of the film. Also, the guy who plays Peter Petrelli in Heroes' acting was poor IMO. I like him better in the series.

Edit: Stallone's acting was ace though, best I've seen of him so far. 👍

Watched 'Signs' by M. Night Shyamalan last night, against my own advice - having not particularly enjoyed it the last time I watched it, I thought it might have improved with age... how wrong can a man be? My rating of this movie has fallen from 'Poor' to the same word minus the final 'r'... What a load of old crap, and M. Night Shyamalan should seriously consider never getting the wrong side of the camera again - his cameo appearance makes Keanu Reeves look like Laurence Olivier in comparison. I wish I had more time to write a more detailed review, but suffice it to say that I ain't going to be rushing to the shops to add this to my DVD collection!

I watched it last night too, i loved it first time around and enjoyed it even more this time. Go figure. MNS's cameo isn't the best piece of acting ever, i grant you that, but i just found it to be really entertaining without been too actiony or too seriousy.

I love the scene at the dinner table. They all have their special meals, and then for some reason they all start crying. It was so horrible; the worse acting in the movie and I absolutely loved it!

M. Nightie-nite's appearance was the icing on the cake.

Probably why I like this movie.

I take it you didn't see The Village then? He had a cameo there, but it was just that, a cameo. His character has zero to do with eth plot, just him getting on screen to do it.

Well, just look at Mel Gibson's movies. He can only act when it involves a traumatic event happening and causing the guy to snap and go on a justified killing spree.

Even when he isn't killing people he still can only play characters that have a traumatic event happen that changes their life, but then he screws up the acting when he suddenly has to be emotional.

Showgirls... god did that suck! I bet I would've liked it a lot more when I was younger, but dammit, this movie's plagued with horrible acting and soft core porn.

I actually secretly enjoy the Signs(no longer a secret). But I agree on M Night's acting. He is horrible, and especially in this, he is so out of place.

In Village, he was less annyoing, but I think it would help his film a lot more, if he just stayed out altogether.

Snakes on a plane. Laughable plot.
That was the point.

Hollywood has this trend of purposely b-movie style horror/sci-fi films that seems to have started with Eight-Legged Freaks, or maybe Evolution.

Hairspray - John Travolta...in a fat suit...dressed as a woman...singing and dancing...nuff said XD For a chick flick it was pretty damn funny.

Other than that...AvPR which was ok though you're better off hiring it if anything, I Am Legend which is fantastic and I really recommend it...and Transformers (1986) Remastered version (got the 2 disc Ultimate set the other day) which despite the slightly saturated colours was really good, especially in 5.1

Saw Good Luck Chuck.

My review can be stated in a few words.
Funny. Awesome. Epic Win. I'm not a huge fan of Cook, but godd*mn, did he make me laugh. This is easily one of my favorite movies ever, now. 👍
The plot. The plot is just so original. A man who if slept with, will allow women to marry the next man they date. It's brilliant.

Although, it did have a lot more sex than I originally though.

3 STV films
House of 9 - pretty good film this one. With Kelly Brook and Denis Hoper. 7/10

Hollow Man 2 - not as bad as i thought. I used to love fastlane so seeing Peter Facinelli was kool - 6/10

Wrong Turn 2 - utter utter terrible. It may have one of the hottest girls i've ever seen, and for once the acting wasnt that bad. Plus it had that cool huge guy from Bad Boys 2. But it was just bad - 3/10

Back to the future - Only the 2nd time ive seen this properly. Still good, maybe a bit to long. 7/10
