I think it would be cool to find out what kind of CDs the members are currently buying. I'm always interested in what kind of CDs my friends are buying.

I just bought used copies of:

Natalie Merchant - Tigerlily(I've heard this CD just once, when it was new)
White Stripes - Get Behind Me Satan(It's OK so far, but doesn't sound as good as "Elephant" to me).

Depending on the popularity of this thread, I want to make one for the DVD as well. Also, I'm wondering if legal downloading should be added to this thread, like thru iTunes. Any feedbacks would be appreciated. :)

Edit: I changed the title from "CD" to "Music", so you can post songs/albums other than just CDs.

The only Natalie Merchant song I own is "Because the Night" by 10,000 Maniacs.

White Stripes, I had the original one with "Seven Nation Army" on it.

Last CD I bought/downloaded was a bootleg Rolling Stones one called "Sticky Fingers Revisited."

Talking Heads - Remain in Light:

Orbital - The Green Album:

Deerhoof - Offend Maggie:

Orbital - The Brown Album:

Björk - Vespertine:

Orbital - Snivilisation: (Physical, non - iTunes copy)

Orbital - In Sides: (Physical, non - iTunes copy)

Orbital - Middle of Nowhere:

Last CD I got was Wild Young Hearts by Noisettes.

Half.com, it's the way to go(.99 cents + $2.99 s&h).

Jeez, that post was from so long ago. I didn't even remember owning Tigerlily, or Get Behind Me Satan. I guess they are on my iTunes. Seven Nation Army I think still is their best song, and it is on Elephant, I think their best album.

Rush-Permanent Waves
Rush-Moving Pictures

Five bucks at Walmart...now I just gotta find the early stuff. Probably won't be possible unless I order online :(

Foo Fighters - Greatest hits
Just like their sound, and quite a few of their songs, so well worth it. Plus they were excellent at Reading.

I just downloaded (on iTunes) "Blue Thought" from Twigy Al Salaam last week.
He's a fantastic artist from the Japanese label JAZZY SPORT.
As I like to support independent labels, I buy most of their stuff.

Just bought a brand new copy of Basement Jaxx - Crazy Itch Radio

For £7 I couldn't leave it, especially with that cover. :D

Wish Heligoland wasn't so expensive though. :(

Went into HMV to get Beacon, new album out today by Two Door Cinema, and then thought that would be it. But HMV had a frankly sensational offer on, all the Green Day studio albums for £20. I couldn't say no, and at eight albums for effectively £2.50 a pop, best new music bargain I've ever found :D

Last night I bought Let The Night Roar and Ninja Tune XX Presents... Both by King Cannibal, earlier in the week I got Kid Koala's 12 Bit Blues and on the 8th of October I'm getting Two Fingers' new LP. Excited. Expensive though, but it's good.

Something very weird happened today.

I bought a batch of CDs about two weeks ago, and I've been steadily working my way through them. I got up to Velvet Revolver's Libertad and put it in my car stereo, but instead of this:

I got this:

The CD was packaged as Velvet Revolver's Libertad, and the label on the actual CD reads "Velvet Revolver - Libertad", but the music itself is a CD called Pull My Chain by country and western singer Toby Keith.

You should sue for pain and suffering, no sober person should be subject to Toby Keith.

Eh, I got a refund and a replacement copy. It was the right CD this time.

The weird thing is that Keith and Velvet Revolver aren't on the same record label, and nor are their repective labels owned by the same company. The albums weren't recorded in the same (or even a similar) year, either. And the quality of the Keith recording was poor, too.

Hah, I've had a similar experience although not quite as bad as that! I pre-ordered the "One of My Kind" CD/DVD from Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band earlier in the year. When I finally got it one of the tracks was actually a track from the bands second album. To be fair, the songs do have the same name but the record label were kind enough to send an mp3 of the file to me right away along with a replacement CD in the mail.

It's a bit strange to get an artist from two completely different labels though. I suppose there must've been some very odd mix-up at the manufacturing plant. Someone would've been in big trouble for that! :P

3 new ones for my collection.

Heart - Fanatic (amazing CD, the Wilson sisters are still rockin')
Jason Aldean - Night Train
Carrie Underwood - Blown Away

Hearts newest single - Fanatic

Apparently there was a large-scale recall of the Libertad album about eighteen months ago. The copy I had just slipped through the cracks.

-5-1-5-0 - Dierks Bently.

-Blown Away - Carrie Underwood

It's been a light month for me this month acquisition-wise, only buying four albums so far (last month I bought 25):

Ah Feels Like Ahcid (24 American Psychedelic Artefacts From The EMI Vaults)
Party Doll and Other Hits by Buddy Knox
Goodnight, Sweetheart by the Spaniels
34 Great American Songs by Sandy Posey

That last one is a bit of a surprise. I'm really enjoying it, and it's by K-Tel. Never thought that would happen.

Kind of went crazy on Amazon as they have had Black Friday sales all week. Some were on sale some weren't.

Baroness - Blue Album
Captain Beyond - Captain Beyond
Judas Priest - Angel of Retribution ($.50, wasn't part of the black Friday thing, was just priced at that, now it's back to $12 :odd:)
Mountain - Climbing!
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon ($5)
Red Fang - Murder the Mountains
Thin Lizzy - Shades of a Blue Orphanage
Uriah Heep - Look at Yourself ($4)
ZZ Top - La Futura ($5)

I'm done buying CD's until Christmas when I get a gift card and after that I think I will take a break from buying for a little bit.

Some really nice purchases in there... I approve. Captain Beyond is awesome... Really one of the finer Rock bands from the 70's. Just started to really get into them.

They are good indeed, I found them while searching for 70's bands, I found a few others I plan on getting stuff from(Atomic Rooster, Leaf Hound & Budgie as well as some more well known bands).👍
